That's so helpful for me. I had no idea how to earn money from my art and I didn't know my art was worth anything.

I’ve been really hesitant to make a portfolio because I’m really self critical of everything I do. It’s hard to put something on it when the art doesn’t look like my best work. Currently I’m try to apply to art high schools and one of them required a portfolio and audition to be considered for enrollment. I’m really scared about that, I’ve never really done that. I just hope everything goes well, the worst they can say is “no” right?

@@nyooom7481 unfortunately, no. It took me some self reflection and come to the conclusion that an artistic career is not what I want to strive to anymore. However, I did find out that EMS is what I want to do. I want to be a paramedic and I applied to a first responder highschool near me. I wasn’t automatically accepted, but im in an alternate pool, so I just got to hope a seat opens up and I’m picked.

This is extremely helpful! I am a college senior and I made a wix site earlier this year to show my work for internships. It was good for that, but now I want to completely revamp it during the holidays for jobs post-graduation and I just wasn't sure how I should be displaying my art. Thank you for making this video!

I found this incredibly helpful especially the 1st part about how the websites can display your personality and most of all how you broke down what kind of galleries we can make our work into. That was puzzling me the most and you just gave me the nugget, THANKYOU Now I will search 1000 more videos

Gosh I remember creating my first web site and took it down 3 months later after I was robbed of so many of my images! I finally did some watermarking and reloaded it to a free angelfire web site! This is a wonderful video for those getting started in today's Art market! I may even get a new site to sell some older art works! Super video Thanks!

@@feralfreebirds I no longer have a website. I hope that answers your question. I am thinking of creating a new one with squarespace just because I need to sell some excess items I am tired of storing. But I may just use e-bay. I used a digital watermark that acted as a photoshop plug-in I even splashed my name over my images in a translucent font so it disturbed the image minimally, but like I said it just became to hard and I took it down and let my URL go dead.

Okay, I watched it xD Loved the video, it was really helpful. It answer a lot of the questions that I had in regards to how to set up my work. At the end, each portfolio is going to be unique based on the artist, their work and their personality, that's true, but having key elements in common is always helpful and necessary, like contact info and info about the artists. What we are missing out now.. is work to put in our portfolios xD go to wok people, time to draw (me, included)

Thanks so much for this info. I've been using Wix and I love it; I've been trying to find ways to update it not to mention it looks like they have new features. I also wanted to use the store section, but when I glanced at it it offered 2 versions of the store....which one do you use?

How do you actually get the finished product to the customer? Do you order stock yourself, package and then send it or do you use a third party, similar to print on demand?

I personally use these for digital copies which are drawn and sent online :. The whole transaction is online. Im not entirely sure how physical copies work but there is usually an area for the customers’ address, you have an inkjet printer, order some pretty sturdy (photo paper I think), packaging and then mail It to the customers. Some people use a print on demand company - I think Katnipp here on KZread now does this So it’s best to watch her channel or Etsy Art sellers on KZread for more info.
