Great video mate. Always wondered how to do the knot properly. I made a few rigs last year. They have held but the whipping slips, and spins.

It's good that you used black line so we can actually see how to tie the knots, so many tutorials have been ruined because you can't see the line.

Cheers Kerry, if I remember I did have to look that up for this video to be sure ! There’s something to be said for catching on your own creations.

Great video mate. Can I ask if you don't mind. Why a knot less knot wouldn't work with these please .

You could of course but I prefer the speed of a normal uni type knot I recon the line I use is thinner too and those knotless knots suit heavier line -thanks good question

I use 2-0 o,shaunasy hooks with a nickel finish to add a bit of sparkle to make them and have caught mackerel on them bare

+Les Edwards yea thats a good point these are the traditional and most used hook pattern with , as you say the added advantage of them flashing enough to catch in their own. I did find though that the wider wire on them can lead to some lost fish . Thanks for the heads up ill give them a good test in summer counting the days ...... Thanks for the comment Les

Either can work , generally most effective is pull and drop , retrieve and drop

Hi the only criticism is most anglers will be casting these and I think 50lb line is safer cos’ the last thing you want is a crack off with three or more hooks flying around! Tight Lines

Easy Fishing great point. Thanks for your input i must admit i dont cast for mackerel with more that 3oz. Main line should maybe be 60lb then but snoods can be 40lb.

I’d like to think the trace body would be built using 50lb-60lb mono, but a fair point.
