I was Googling about the suction pump sellers in Nairobi Kenya, and Google brought this up. I already have the bottle and pipes I had made to fuel my car from a jerican. I never used it, so I pretty much already have what I wanted to buy only I didn't know it. All I need now is the close valve/tap. Thanks a lot. You saved me 5$ and 4 hours waiting time. 😂😂😂😂😂

Wow that's great 👍🏼 You r Life saver 😁
Thank you. Excellent design. I made a similar siphon but found the rim of the cut soda bottle too soft and it was getting bent in the gravel when you try to dig into the gravel. With sand substrate it is fine but with gravel it was getting bent. So instead of the soda bottle, I used an old fish food container with a rigid rim and fixed the hose on the bottom using a tank connector fitting and a smaller fish food container on the inside drilled with holes to act as a sieve.

Great DIY, thanks for sharing! I just tried it but instead of drilling the cap and gluing the straight connector I managed to attach a garden hose adapter to the bottle I got as one piece.

Excellent video, Btw dada I have one general issue, My tank is getting stringy black filamentous type algae near the filter outflow, inflow and in various plants edges and corners, I am exhausted removing them manually, I am using diy co2 with 2 bottles, I have reduced light timing to 7hrs (7:00am till 2pm) still this algae is growing back, It is trapping dirt and food and thus my tank is looking dirty even though I have a very highfi Sump filter with lots lots lots of polyfill sponge, filter floss and tons of good bio media, Please suggest something so I can get rid of this annoying thread like black algae.

@@madebykm I have 55 gallons (3x1.5x1.5) main tank + 16 gallons (2x1x1) sump, light: sobo cob 32 w led light fishes: Three spot gourami, molly, platy,guppies, neon tetras, several shrimps, and pest snails The pump I am using is 800L/hr but i calculated the effective flow is like 400-500L /hr Plants: vallisneria, ludwigia glandusola, dwarf hair grass which is growing at medium rate, hydrocotyl tripatiata, random moss, and aquatic lily, almost all of their tips and edges are covered with this black hairy algae

1. Increase the water circulation. 2. Add more plants in your tank. 3. In a planted tank, the lights should be on between 8 to 10 hours. 4. Use liquid carbon and increase CO2 as well. 5. Add algae eaters like Amano shrimp, Otocinclus catfish, Siamese algae eaters etc.

Bro you guide how to vacuum substrates properly for clearing debris .
@madebykm
Жыл бұрын
Yes, I have shown the steps how to use it. You need to push the siphon into the gravel or sand and start vacuuming some of the substrate. Since the substrate is heavier than the fish waste, the heavier substrate will fall out of the tube, while the lighter debris will still float inside the tube and be sucked up.

There is no need to vacuum the gravel in planted tanks. Here, detritus in the gravel will provide beneficial nutrients to plants and act as a food source for microorganisms. Weekly water changes are sufficient to remove organic waste, excess nutrients, etc. from planted tanks.
What type of substrate is used in this tank...?
