Refreshing to see someone actually make something these days. Thanks for sharing.
I've been watching many DIY builds for these, and love the simplicity of yours - especially the vertical pieces with the angled cut...brilliant, and so easy!

Thanks so much Mark. I actually shot this whole episode in a different location many months ago but I really wasn't happy with that version. I'm glad I redid it with the 3D walk-through.
You are a legend. This is awesome and even easier/cheaper with an HD webcam and desk (no tripod or camera needed).
You're genius! Thank you! I am going to use this

fantastic idea well done and thank you
Teleprompter helped me a ton especially when I started using the PPT Mirror tool function that converts Powerpoint slides into teleprompter software.. it is a great way that helps to look & sound natural in front of camera than using word-for-word script.

Colin. Thank you for making this and your other videos. They rock! In this one, how is it that the reflection isn't also captured into the camera video you are recording through the back of the teleprompter/camera?
@VideoRevealed
3 жыл бұрын
I think it's because reflections are directly connected to the angle of light. If you look at anything reflecting around you, and you move your position, you'll notice the reflection changes too. So at a 45 degree angle, the light passes through the glass and hits the lens. If you moved the glass on a different angle, you'd eventually see the words in the lens. Make sense?

@@VideoRevealed That was precisely my question as well, but makes sense. Thank you for this informative video!
Hello, Congratulations. 👍 Cool. 👏👏👏 Smart
Thank you for the great video., Collin. I experienced the advantage and huge benefit of using a Teleprompter and PPT Mirror software: I speak more freely and, of course, ‘‘get my messages across’’ in self -produced videos. I display my PowerPoint in reverse or flip it and put my tablet in the teleprompter and advance the slides with remote, simple, and easy to use. Which leads my videos to more naturalness and assist me in delivering professional narration.

Thank you so much for the information!! I made my teleprompter using clear glass from a hardware store. The letters are blurry. Would the tint help with tgat? If not what do you think would be the culprit? Thanks again!!
@VideoRevealed
2 жыл бұрын
What you're calling blurry might just be the second reflection on the second side of the glass. My glass was very thin so the second image is close. If you've used thicker glass, that would be the problem. Applying the tint at an auto tinting service would definitely help.
Hi, Collin Smith Thank you for the review...very informative Would you worry to use powerpoint presentation slides in a teleprompter using an iPad with ppt-mirror.com tool and bluetooth pedal page flip to switch the slides?

Interesting as ever. Just one question: Why is it that you seem to be getting clear non-ghosted text even with your standard glass and not beamsplitter glass?
@VideoRevealed

Probably because the glass was really cheap, thin glass.

you have to have one that can open up completely with the keyboard tucked underneath like his does...the hinges need to allow the keyboard to be tucked all the way under. Otherwise, you'd have to leave it open flat and have a much larger (longer) support base. My laptop doesn't open up like that.

I see some people suggesting I paint the thing black? I think it’s not necessary since the wood in itself can absorb ambient light perfectly fine. What’s your thoughts on this ?

The outside frame dimensions are 14.750 X 11.750 inches. I think it was made for an 11 X 9 picture. The board is slightly larger than 9 X 13.

@@VideoRevealed You're a star! Thank you so much!
Dollar stores are a great resource. Simple is best. How do you align your eyes or place the camera to appear to viewers like you're looking at them in the video? I stare at the lens while I record and the video looks like I'm not looking at the viewer. Thanks

I made a teleprompter using a piece of window glass but I get a double reflection; it seems like the ipad image is reflecting off of the front surface of the glass AND the back surface too.Yours doesn't seem to do that. I can't figure out why.
@VideoRevealed
4 жыл бұрын
That's just the way it is when you don't use proper teleprompter glass. Most people aren't bothered by that, like me. Like I said, you can take the glass to a car shop and they can apply a treatment to reduce that problem.
Put it in the market and you would be surprise of how many people are waiting to buy your stuff!

Yes you do, so you'd need a larger piece of wood and more support to hold everything. I am using a small laptop in my example by the way.
Hello, Where I can buy that reflective glass?
@VideoRevealed
4 жыл бұрын
It's just a picture frame, which you can pickup anywhere. The reflection shows when it's set at the right angle. If you're talking about my comment on window treatment, just search for "window tinting" in your area and you'll find a car shop that does that.

@@VideoRevealed I've got same problem. I have 2'way mirror - it's some sort of lil bit dark glass - and it's really good tto read, but it's darker on the footage. I think with window tinting will be the same problem. Have you got any solution for this? I can't find answer on my question - Did you window tinting on that Teleprompter? Because your glass seems ok.
Hi, I have a question. Iˇve just created my own handmade teleprompter, bud there is a problem with double reflection on my glass surface. Do I need any special glass or what is the reason of the double reflection? Thanks for your advice. :O>)
@VideoRevealed
2 жыл бұрын
The reflection is caused by how thick the glass is. I used cheap, thin glass so it's not as noticeable. The only option is to take your glass to an automobile shop where they offer tinted window service.
