    @@TristanMaker youre welcome 🙃. But I have a question: What did you do to prevent your helmet from cracking after you applied the clear coat? Or was that an elastic clear coat spray? Or in general, after the modpodge why doesn't it crack? The modpodge isn't elastic, is it?

    Modpodge is a PVA glue like wood glue but it is much more flexible. Not as flexible as plasti dip but still flexible enough for a helmet. And for the clear coat, it's just a normal clear coat from rust oleum. I found that when you apply it in 1 or 2 thin layers, it sticks really well to acrylic paint and stays just flexible enough to prevent cracking.

    @@TristanMaker ah okay. I used wood glue but without water and acrylic. Maybe that's what caused the cracking. Next time I'll mix it like you did or use mod podge 🤔 I've used a clear coat one time but there it cracked.🤔 I think I just have to experiment a little bit to get the results I want. • @TristanMaker

    @TristanMaker

    2 жыл бұрын

    Awesome! For helmets, low to medium density works best because of the compound curves on the dome. For armors or parts that don't need as much heat forming, medium to high density works great. Lower density is easier to work with but higher density is more durable. :)
