Hello Bryan, I have talked to you on the phone long, long time ago. I was asking for tips about your own design STORM... I started building it for a 60 RE engine in 2003 and went just before covering, and stopped... But now I will retake it since I stopped working for living as a pilot. I have to be quick though, before my thumb start shaking... Nice to see you here!

Very good Bryan. Can you just use the electronic sub trim in your radio to move your elevator half into the best possible position and adjust your ent point to match evenly

Mechanical set up and geometry should be achieved 1st, and then, you can use the transmitter for fine adjustments. it is much more complicated than that. (this is coming from an IMAC pilot)

Hey Phil, Brett here, electronic sub trim is ok to use to keep your elevators lined up as a maintenance function throughout the life of your airplane. However, you should make sure when everything is installed that you use the sub trim to line your servo horn up parallel to the flight surface and mechanical adjustments to get the elevator surface lined up with the stabilizer. This insures that as the servo wears over time sub trim adjustments are simply bringing things back to where they started. Hope that helps!

@@ckaero5113 makes sense Brett, also see my reply above. My Alchemy Pro is the sweetest flying plane I’ve ever had. The difference from my Other planes is really quite pronounced. Jason has done an awesome job building her and I’m in love. Cheers and best wishes to you guys. Stay safe

Hi, how you decide which side to use as reference the lef stab or right, what you use as refrence surface to adjust

  • @ckaero5113

Hi Thair, When deciding which stab to adjust the goal is to get your elevators to match the stabilizers when trimmed for level flight, so you want to adjust the stabilizer which will make that possible. For instance, if you're carrying up trim you want to adjust a net negative incidence into the stabilizer to get rid of that, so you adjust the stab that needs a negative adjustment to match the other. While not absolutely critical, this will provide an even and predictable response from your control surface. If you carry any trim you may notice some expo like effects on the elevator around neutral in one direction or the other.
