    Awesome video! I'm currently looking for solutions for a broom finished patio that has major discoloration caused by blankets. Would love to use this product but the contractor who poured it also sealed it. It was applied about a year and a half ago. I did a water test to see how much was left and it absorbed in less than 15 seconds. Could I use the revival product on this surface despite it being sealed? I would look to soda blast the sealer off if it were stamped concrete but wasn't sure if minimal sealer on a broom finish is as necessary to strip before applying. Thanks for the help!

    Thanks for the comment! The safe answer would be to remove the sealer before applying Revival. I know it doesn't seem like there's much there, but even a small amount of sealer can cause a bond break. Sand/soda blasting is the best way of doing this. It'll remove the remaining sealer and also open up the pores of the concrete. Thanks for watching Deco-Crete TV!!

    How long should this last (estimate) before having to reapply in Southwest Michigan climate with a lot of oak and other tree pollen exposure? Can I powerwash any algae/mildew/mold that grows? Will it resist this growth? Does it reapply to itself if needed? Thanks. Just power washed the pool deck and patio and am trying to decide what to sell it with…very old concrete…no sealer. Absorbs water readily.

    Thanks for the comment! You should get at least 5 years out Revival on a pool deck or patio. It will resist mold, mildew and algae growth, but you can give it light power wash if needed. Revival can be re-applied to itself in needed, it would just require some abrasion before re-applying. We recommend hitting it with an aggressive scrubber pad on a floor buffer, followed by a strong power wash. I'll leave a link to the recommended scrubber pad below. Can this still be applied even with a penetrating sealer that was sprayed on after a fresh pour?

  • @DecoCreteTV

    @DecoCreteTV

    14 күн бұрын

    Thanks for the comment! This one can be tough because you really can't remove a penetrating sealer, and the Revival won't bond very well if the surface is repelling water. How old is the slab, and at what point was it sealed? If the penetrating sealer was applied the day of the pour or even a week after, it probably didn't penetrate & react very well anyway. Or, if the slab is quite a few years, the sealer will lose some of it's repellency. At any rate, the questions is; how water repellant is the concrete right now? I would start by doing a water test. Make sure the slab is completely dry and pour a little bit of water on it. Does the water soak in immediately and make a dark spot, or does it sit on the surface and take a few minutes to soak in become the darker color? If it's repelling the water, then Revival probably isn't a good idea at this time. I'll leave a link below to a video explaining the water test. @@DecoCreteTV Thanks for the response! The slab is almost a month old. Used V102 Penetrating Sealer directly after finishing and then a 2nd coat after 24 hours (I believe it's water based)...

  • @DecoCreteTV

    @DecoCreteTV

    13 күн бұрын

    @@Epwnzer In my experience with V-Seal 102, spraying it on that early will not have a long-lasting effect on the slab's water repellency. At that point, it's acting more as a cure than a sealer. When you apply it after 30 days, you get extreme water repellency. However, that second application after 24 hours could still cause a bond break for the Revival. My recommendation would be to wait a few more weeks and do a water test to see how it absorbs. If it seems to repel water at all, then I would say that Revival is not a good idea right now. Is there a discoloration you are trying to cover up, or are you just looking for a different color altogether?
