Man, Imagine you get the job as a bassist and you encounter the monster that is Nick, the guitar player. Madman looks like a University Professor that is working on Harvard and busts the craziest riffs and ideas out there... That alone, shows you how badass this is... The fact that the whole band can follow him and serve him to make the tastiest songs ever...
I love the throwback to Contraband @2:08 what a riff ❤ 🤘🤘

Nice to get an instrumental version ! This song is incredible, I hope we get a Drum Playthrough of it !
That chorus is a thing beauty
2:08 and 3:42 are an amazing guitar compossition
Dude was like, "Hey, we're gonna start using a new tuning... add another string..." and then just writes one of the coolest songs I've heard in a long time.

@@peniletouch Not exactly new territory. Mike Mushok from Staind immediately springs to mind as the first person I heard use this kind of "open" tuning (Ab Db Ab Db Gb Bb, like the lower six of a seven string, rather than a six in Drop-D with an added low A), as far as anything resembling metal music. But in this kind of context, as well as music by bands like Northlane, it is kind of new. I've heard it used more for chordy, melodic stuff than the more notey, technical heavy music coming out the last several years. All sus2s and sus4s, previously. It's a cool tuning that will mess with your brain for a long time when you switch to it. Might just be Drop-E to some, but this dude added a whole new string to his guitar and tuned it in a way where he can't just "move everything down," then wrote a track that kills it, using techniques he's probably still adjusting to because of years of muscle memory. All that string-skipping he does throughout the song is not incredibly easy to do cleanly, and now the distances he's used to crossing are different. Chord shapes and scales are all different on the lowest strings. Three-note sus, minor, and major chords on the lowest three strings are slightly different shapes. Octaves using the lowest four strings are different. He may not have invented anything, but he had to adjust to a lot.
That riffdown was so sick. Bro played it effortlessly.

That riff is maybe not quite as difficult as it sounds, but it still took me a while to get it down. The picking hand is the hardest part because of all the string skipping and alternate picking. Such a sick riff and track in general

Song of 22 by a long mile. Can't get enough of it
Don’t let their calm demeanor fool you, both of these guys are one chord away from doing full ass flips.
Nick's guitar parts are always so bouncy and groovy. Especially that breakdown at the end!
Very simple and also top notch
This whole song is just a work of art
Wow! Beautifully played gentlemen! Bravo!
This song is such a fckn banger! I’ve been listening to it nonstop
I agree one of the best in class for sure these guys are the new wave without question
Saw this band live in November and damn was it pro af. Great energy in the crowd, fantastic sound, performance, they had it all dude.
This slaps so hard.
Excellent writing and playing.
Maybe Im bad at music but I heard a lot of different/neat stuff that I didnt catch in the full mix. Thanks for this!
NEED MORE OF THIS RIGHT NOWWWWWW!!!!

Dude this sounds sick! Subscribed ♥️
This right here really inspired me to pick up my guitar and challange myself again, i got rusty and this made me wanna clean up that rust
excellent. I love it....
Oh my god! That was truly amazing❤🔥🖤
Can't wait for a full album of DoomSwitch!
This song is an absolute banger straight from the get go!!
BEAUTIFUL PERFECT !!
After this video I thought that this is instrumental by-design track. Was very surprised to discover in the end, that this is (as I understand) just version with excluded vocals, and this is a song by-design. I think this is great, that even without the vocals - tune is still works pretty good as instrumental track :)
Gosh damn I love this song man
This video just gave me the push i needed to buy a 7 string. Fn awesome! And thank you! 🤘🤘🤘🔥🔥🔥
Love the riff in the chorus. Guitarist is real chill till that last riff haha love it.

Do they have to look so stoic?? I would be headbanging like crazy. I get it’s a showcase for the instruments but I couldn’t stay still I was playing this
I wish they used the actual audio of the play through and not the studio audio, but this is still rad
These strings look huge I want them
Nick is just on another level of song writing
I like the chorus, the interesting off key note and the odd time signature creating an abrupt end. Also, the melody is very nice. The second verse is awesome and complex, too. Never been a big breakdown fan, but it is not bad for one.

That suspended note in the chorus is a make them suffer staple. Never afraid to throw in a major turn for the chorus. Part of which makes them so good

When new single already?
That stank face going into the breakdown is epic, he knows he wrote a NASTY riff
This is the song that finally made me buy a 7 string. Still can't play it but can at least fake it enough to have fun and play along in parts by just playing singles notes instead of the fast double notes.

Here it looks like his 5 string is tuned to drop A. Every time the guitar hits the low E, the bass hits the 7th fret. It's a cool adaptation.
@DMxExMxO
Жыл бұрын
Drop A then match the open notes with the E string or 7th fret on the low A, trying to go lower than drop G is very muddy on bass unless your guitar is specifically set up for it so it’s easier to just tune to an E1 instead of an E0 for clarity.
@iamyetimanYT

Are they standing on a landmine ?
I was so confused at first, I thought this was just a really awkward music video.
ух как жестоко
It feels like they play it slower than in the original, but I could be wrong
if there's 0 audio of them actually playing at this moment is it really a playthrough? This reminds me of bands in the early 2010s having "live videos" and it's literally just a video with the studio track added...Song rips but c'mon I wanna hear them actually playing...
Why does Nick flip me off the whole video😢

Soo uncomfortable watching Nick play while standing still. I feel like I'm holding in a sneeze.
Never understood the point of playthrough videos if you do not actually use the audio from the playthrough. It just does not make sense.
