If you want to permanently hide the panel, close it and make sure to tick off "Auto Open Panels" on the tools bar. 👉Essential Properties in the Properties panel now available! make sure you're running version 23.6 or higher 👈
I've been waiting for a properties panel like c4d from 2009

It's not clear if you can keyframe the paths from this panel?

make sure you are on the latest version (24 or higher)
hm, still not possible to replace the text content for more than one layer at a time?

not at this time. you can comment on the beta forum and file a feature request
Don't know why but for me it doesn't work with shape layers at all. It doesn't show the content like in this video. It just says "layer contents: shape layer 1" and no matter what I add in terms of shapes or paths, nothing is shown in the properties panel. *edit - oh it only works when your shape layer contents are part of a group. For some reason.

You got it :-) Groups are not supported yet. Consider raising a feature request with Adobe as this panel keeps evolving.
Tonight i discovered this panel has no Italic option for text.

Correct, no faux Italic option in the Properties panel. Luckily the Character panel still offer this in case you still need it.

@@SternFX Tried that. Doesn't work. Anytime you do something like double click a Text layer the Property Panel shows up again.

You can disable it and continue as before. It doesn't break anything. However, if you have ideas how to make it better please jot them here or send a feedback to Adobe.

yeah. I know most of the shortcuts so I find this panel kinda useless. but its nice for new users I think.
