did you play the game? It's sometimes very hard to see an enemy you thought you killed between all the bullets and those bastards really can sneak up on you

The last tier "every third shot has infinite piercing" makes the bat gun broken. Homing shots with infinite piercing is like spawning a magic dagger every three shots.

Literally just tried it and it's still effectively useless because it can still only hit each enemy one time (and if your shot speed is low enough and there aren't any other enemies very close by it will stick on one enemy doing nothing) and only lasts a short time. This is on nightmare 15. I've won with the bat gun but it is probably the worst gun in the game.

@@eXponentia Right but you fire 4 of them in a clip which kills most the early game monsters. Once you get summon damage the game is a breeze.

With the crossbow, you can't sleep on "shoot a shot behind you". It doesn't come with a damage penalty.

bounce is pretty much a guaranteed damage multiplier for batgun , also stacks burns really well and thats all you really need , i could stack a 4k burn on a tree lol

This is the biggest flex in history

What made that frost run work at level 27 was the frost plus the projectile spam. not taking fusillade until nearly the end was a massive dummy move, every projectile has its own freeze chance so having 4 with a tight spread is almost guaranteed on every main shot and then the fan fire spam helped keep freeze up on everything else. that gave you enough crowd control to get frostbite and shatter going. Just because you see a "-damage" on the upgrade doesnt mean it's actually a dps down. +1 proj/Fusillade on a single shot gun is bonkers. The split was also extremely important for propagating your freezes within packs, and the extra piercing you picked up helped that.

Summon attack speed also effects your gun so try go for the ghost early dagger is fools gold as the bat gun has low starting damage and opens up several poor upgrades because of that only go for it later when you have your ghost set up that's how I got my first all summon synergy win

Upgrade magic lens all the way. Ghost and magic lens is incredibly powerful as magic lens stacks so ghost orbs can get up to like 8k damage. Before the 15min mark you should try and get a dragon egg and trained dragon. At some point you want to get light weaponry if only for sharpened. I’ve found pure summon build to only be second to spark and SMGs.

the key is lens, pretty much + some reload rate maybe the only thing I'm not sure is if full summon runes are reasonable or not, because the stones keep pushing enemies into me and glyphs deal no damage.

Every time NL brings up how assassin causes bullets to execute at 20% xp, which detonates frozen enemies, which will then explode, ect is really starting to sound like Hisoka reminding everyone how bungee gum has the properties of both rubber and gum

Having finally caved and bought this game earlier today and already on darkness 9, I swear half the reason NL loses so much is the fact he actually takes HP, just dilutes the hell out of your item pool with two tier 2 items that are both ass, shield is the only defensive item I take and win rate is great while doing fairly diverse builds The fact he's scared to take the move and reload with shield too because 'you lose it' is also inhibiting, the speed helps you keep it and that also gets you your halved CD shield tier which is infinitely better than taking +1 hp that dilutes pool

Batgun plus the magic lens worked like a charm for me. Since you don't need to aim the bats you can just focus every shot through the lens. Increase the number of bats and fire rate, and baby you got a stew going.

Batgun on Abby is legit. Abby's broken in general, but I think the batgun is her second best weapon after the dual SMGs. Abby's ability normally causes some shots to miss, but the batgun can't miss, so Abby's ability is just a straight up fire rate and move speed boost.

@Northernlion I have made the Batgun work easily! Here is the general build path I have been going to make it work. Abby, Batgun, Sword Runes are Mysticism, Elemental Barrage, Wild Magic and Ethereal Shield Runes are Courage, Elemental Shield, Blessing and Growth You want to Rush for Fusillade, Penetration, Energized, and Shatter, while picking up any Reload and fire rate speed. Just use your right click and then spin to win. Good Luck my friend!

Summon Attack Speed upgrades also helps the bat gun fire faster, underrated stat.

I've used nothing but the batgun as soon as I unlocked it. I don't know, I just, I feel a kinship with these creatures...

I can't wait for NL to try make the grenade launcher + splinter combo work.

The first time I did that I was not expecting the splinters to also be nades. Couple of minutes later I decided that it was a mistake to take it

Abby is the way to go for batgun. See her shooting in a random direction literally doesn't matter for the seeking bats and two of her chest upgrades make great upgrades for it being +2 projectiles and double fire rate while spinning. Grab some burn and freeze and you're off to the races.

Yeah the double shot is 1.7x the damage and fusillade is 2.55x the damage, not to mention 2x and 4x the procs respectively. It's broken.

The reason I say healing is unnecessary is because if you pick good upgrades it takes remarkably little time to get to a point where you are under literally no threat at all. I guess if you play like NL and purposefully try to do bad builds you might need the healing to die after 15 minutes instead of 10 but I usually aim for 20.

before watching this video i decided to play the game myself, to see how easy it is, and, respect. its not easy, despite how it looks. honest respect to NL straight up

Chat says take good abilities: "oh so you hate fun and trying new things?" (Proceeds to take freeze every time) Chat says take meme abilities: "oh so you just want me to lose?" (Proceeds to throw away build for more projectiles/effects)

Abby+Batgun was really good in my run! Since they home you just spin nonstop. I went full summon/elements, and picked up the extra projectile stuff like fusillade, fanfire, and splinter. Then just spinning set every enemy on fire/frozen/struck lightning everywhere. I got lucky and took that huge mag for almost no tome as well, so spinning just went on and on until my mag was finally empty. Elements seem really broken, with ice as the strongest, but the other two aren't bad at all.

I can relate to the comments about yard work. As a father of an eight-month-old, my favorite part of my day is cleaning the kitchen and washing the dishes/bottles at the end of the day. I put in my headphones, turn on the day’s NL videos, and finally get some time to myself.

The reason you won the first game was reload tree, fusilade tree and damage tree pair really well together. Think about it, you can stack damage all you want but you're only ever going to get to 200% ish at the high end which is pretty bad. If instead you get 170% ish damage and fire 4 projectiles then that's effectively 680% damage. Now if you've got 3 piercing at the same then every shot is hitting 4 times so thats effectively 2720% damage and now suddenly you're actually getting somewhere. Saying "I want damage" doesn't do anything unless you start to multiply that damage by making every trigger pull have more instances of damage. (elemental builds obviously don't care at all about damage)

If you want to do bat gun/summon build you have to go Lilith. Its not super obvious but her skulls are summons and all of her perks for killing bosses give her a lot of summon damage as gravy. She's secretly the summon build character, but its hidden behind some stuff. Also summon build only works as just a gun build that uses summon damage as gun damage for bat gun. source - I am on ascension 10 - source dude just trust me

The batgun is pretty much the best gun in the game, because it's the best at abusing freeze. Damage is irrelevant, you just need the bats to bounce around and hit everything, and with all the freeze upgrades it does percentage health and everything just explodes. The fact that it can also benefit from summon upgrades is just a nice bonus, because it makes it less likely that you get a level with no good upgrade options.

I like batgun. Go for extra projectiles, penetration, and elemental effects. Fire and ice with the extra projectiles and penetration destroys EVERYTHING.

Not rolling for egg is the greatest betrayal ever

You should try out ghost friend + lens, you can get insanely large high damage ghost shots with infinite pierce that just clear a path for you

NL on Vampire Survivors : no variety NL on 20 minutes til dawn: freeze build

Power Shot tree is REALLY strong on batgun early on. Reaper Rounds for piercing is of course good but the big winner is Splinter for even for homing bat bullets.

Just fucking fried my brain playing Vampire Survivors and now to cool down am gonna watch NL play 20 minutes till dawn. Surely I won't fucking short curit and *die* before the night is over!

If you see this - Splinter/piercing is one of the best things to get to apply frost consistently throughout an entire group of mobs.

I won my first run with the Batgun, and a lot of summons +summon upgrades. I stood still the entire time holding Left Click at a certain point, it was kind of hilarious.

I will stand by Scarlett with a full elemental smg build forever, haven't tried bat gun yet looks dope

@@Scroolewse The batgun gets affected by summon upgrades so all the summon attack speed and damage also apply on top of bullet upgrades. You get an insane multi target machine gun

The lass that shoots the entire clip at once can get really broken with Batgun. Grab every "gain 1 ammo when you do x" upgrade and as many piercing and extra projectile (splinter is crazy good) ones as you can, if you get lucky on your draws you basically become an infinite whirlwind of self-sustaining bats.

The powerup that gives you a chance at giving you 1 bullet on pickup of xp is super good. I run with that and the every time a lightning hits you reload ammo, I never have to reload.

Had this problem with the crossbow one time. It pushed enemies so far out that they despawned and I never got the XP. Ended the map with 4000 something kills. It was the most hollow victory.

It would be goated if he timed the triple pickup with the first tier of ghost friend so by the end he's got a constant 9-shot piercing wall of death.

The sad part is the bat gun didnt even look bad, all of his runs after the first one seemed viable, he just stops paying attention and takes 3 hits in as many seconds. But that’s what we’re here for.

Bat gun with spin to win girl is actually kinda sick, but that's literally the only character I got it to work with. Also, the knockback on reload rune is cracked with crossbow.

i had a pretty dominant batgun run with the spin girl (abby, i think). Just spam left click, focus piercing and bullet generation, and there you go

less than 90 seconds in and he;s rejected a level 2 egg and said "all elements other than frost are untakeable", someone please stage an intervention, this man needs protecting from himself

You gotta get elemental dmg like fire and ice for bats to pop off. If you go full summon dmg, and on top of that add all the elements, it's super easy. also, tome of rage and fussilade are op op in terms of applying burn and churning out units.

Take ABBY and SMG combo and just right click all the way, movement speed does not decrease when using right click

Actually love batgun, and not just because I'm furry trash. It stacks damage more than twice as effectively as regular guns if you take the Summoning route. Also summon attack speed increases its fire rate, which can become *fucking wild*. Earlygame is rough, but if you can make it past that it feels really really good stacking it with your other summons.

NL is treating Glare unkosher if you get magnet, watch n learn, glare, fx glare, frozen then you get a free frozen aura especially when ypu go crossbow, and dont have crazy AOE
