Make Schmears with Powdered Cream Cheese
Using the freeze dried cream cheese we made and powdered in a previous video, we used it to make three amazing flavors of schmear for spreading on bagels. Powdered cream cheese is shelf stable and perfect for making dishes for the trail.

Those look good for celery stick fillings. Thank you
You know what is delicious with green olives and cream cheese? Roasted and salted pecans! Chop 'em small and stir in. yum. I used to make these as tea sandwiches when I owned a Tea House.
When I was growing up, for every holiday my mother made "stuffed celery". It was chopped green olives mixed in cream cheese and stuffed into a piece of celery. She would then sprinkle a little paprika on top and they went on the "pickle tray" with the other pickles and olives. I believe she put a tiny bit of the olive water/juice into the cream cheese mixture while she was mixing it all up too.
I'm imagining bacon crumbs and onions, and garlic in the cream cheese. Or, anything you would put into a cheese ball.
How about some of your veggie or fruit powders? Pumkim powder or peach powder with the cream cheese, etc. Chopped nuts could also add a nice texture to sweet schmears.
I'd suggest freeze dried powdered berries stirred in along with the fresh/frozen fruit and maybe just a touch of sugar to intensify the fruit flavor. And I am so doing the olive schmear.

I would add the freeze dried berry powder to the cream cheese powder and rehydrate all at once. Yes a tiny amount of sugar would help offset any potential sourness from the fruit, though a lemon raspberry combination would be lovely.
Your schmears would be great spread on a flour tortilla and rolled up. Great “on the go” snack or lunch.
You could add freeze dried raspberry powder to your schmear to get a stronger flavor.
I ❤ this with a bit of pepper jelly mixed in😊 Your raspberry probably needs a dab of raspberry jam. Another great video❤ thanks Jim and Pam.
This looks absolutely delicious. When I make some schmears, I won't eat them right away. I'll put them in the fridge for a few hours so that the flavors will meld. Can't wait! Thank you for the good idea.
I was looking at Schmear recipes and found Masa and Cornmeal Waffles with a Maple Syrup Schmear. Finding all sorts of Schmear ideas. Thanks for introducing me to this and the freeze dried cream cheese possibility.
Those look yummy, but I would substitute strawberries for the raspberries. You could upgrade the olive schmear by adding bacon bits and toasted, chopped pecans with maybe some parsley flakes on top. Another sweet schmear would be crushed pineapple and chopped toasted walnuts. I like a "crunch" factor. Thanks for the ideas.
All look DELICIOUS!!!
Love bagels. My favorite cream cheese has onion soup mix in it.
Have fun !
Perhaps if you blend the raspberries with the cream cheese, quickly, it might get the flavor incorporated better. Clever videos, enjoying your experiments.
That’s a great idea. Love this! Val C
Maybe adding a little powdered sugar to the raspberry schmear, is what it’s missing ;) These all look delicious!
This was fun, I’m going to try this one too. We’re having smoked salmon this week, I’ll save some to add to cream cheese. I know I can buy it, but this way, I know exactly what’s in it!
I hope Jim was okay with the little camera mishap about halfway through (10:00)! I bought some cream cheese powder a few years ago and wondered what to use it in. These look pretty tasty.
Maybe a touch of sugar for the raspberry one? And, please try the waffle technique! Maybe I'll invest in a waffle iron yet? 😊 Thanks again ❤!
Oh Pam ! You have hit the nail on the head! And you make me laugh so hard! Can’t wait to do this! ❤
What a great idea!! Where did you get those adorable stainless steel ingredient cups? They are the perfect size for so many things. Thanks for all you do!!
Those look great and gave me ideas to try 😊 cant wait to see what else you will do with your powdered cream cheese
Ive added a bit of sugar free raspberry jello powder to cream cheese…yummy spread…lots of flavor…try adding some with your fresh berries to jack up the flavor.
Nicely Done!
If you used powdered freeze dried raspberries it would probably have a stronger flavor
Yum everything looks delicious. Thanks Pam.
Hi Pam and Jim, can't believe this.. my husband and I had strawberry schmeres on our everything bagels for our lunch today, boy was I surprised to see your video after lunch! Lol..they are so versatle and yummy! Thankyou to our community for sharing your taste treats can't wait to try them! Blessings!
Thank you for sharing! A “whole” meal could be made with the schmears…olive spread for the appetizer, the veggie/ham spread for the main, and raspberry spread for dessert! Yum! 😋
Looks inviting!! If you look at the ingredients of strawberry cream cheese it has 'natural flavoring', so the flavor is enhanced. You can enhance your own with preserves or raspberry extract. One of my favorites to make is chives with fresh garden herbs. It is great with roasted veggies on a bagel.
Great..Lochness Scottish Highlands..
You may need to do the raspberry ahead if time and chill overnight to get the full flavor. Or thaw a few, make raspberry water with them and the added water. Then add your Chopped raspberry.
Wow love this, also I was thinking what I could do with the freezer dry fruit. Yummy with all of the different flavors.,have a great day and many blessings ❤
I love those dishes you used to make the schmear, and have tried to find them online. What size are they, and where did you get them?
I used the low fat cream cheese to freeze dry and so far I have just used tap water and it has worked great. Now that I have said that it won't work that way next time. I love the idea of flavoring it!!
I absolutely love your channel! My husband and I just bought a freeze dryer and a trailer us next! I'm loving all the options I'm going to have when we travel! THANK YOU!
How long does the cream cheese(freeze dried) last? I think I would love the olive one.
Did you make the cream cheese powder ?
What brand powdered cream cheese do you use/recommend?
Adding a little sugar or honey to the raspberry might brighten the flavor and make it tastier.
So creative and I was so happy to see this idea of how to use powdered cream cheese. I'm thinking chopped pecans and pineapple schmear! What was your fourth idea for a schmear, Pam?
