After Thoughts about the Video: Sorry no snow yet to test it out BUT these also work pretty well with loose dirt, leaves, and zombies. Used snow plows are dirt cheap as generally they are seen as one machine fit. I picked this up for $25 because it sat on classifieds all winter and no one had the correct machine/application for it. I use the exact technique for mounting ATV plows to riding mowers/tractors.

When putting bolts through tube , especially where strength is required , I drill slightly larger holes and weld some smaller pipe into the holes. This no only makes the holes crush proof and wear proof, but prevents water getting inside the pipe and rusting it out.
Hey Martha, that crazy guy down the street is plowing the street with out snow again.
She is like what are you doing under that machine daddy 😂
Nice workout on that blade. You've got great abilities to go along with a great creative mind. I'm happy you make videos so we can be exposed to it.
You did a fine job making that work! It’s nice to have all the right tools at your disposal 😉👍🏼
My plow and my snowblower mount to the rear hitch of the quad on the back and to double hinge mounted to the front bumper. No crawling underneath the quad to hook it up and comes completely off so no brackets hanging down. quick and easy mounting and dismounting.

That was one of the designs I considered. Definitely a strong mounting point.
Always something going on at your house. Thanks for the upload.
Awesome as always. Really like the the pink welding helmet. 100% OSHA approved I'm sure. How about on a future video, you rig up one of your souped-up snowblowers on a lift/mount on a rider?
Nice snowplow 👍, just what I need since my driveway is 800 feet long, fortunately only about 150 feet are on a steep hill, the rest is flat. I'll bet Ginger loves plowing snow with you.

The snowblower for Ginger is an endless game of catch with the flying snow.
Awesome fabrication Moe. I am always impressed by the projects you tackle. I really enjoy the problem solving and how you show any issues you encounter along the way (and then what you do to fix them). Hope your ankle wasn't too badly hurt by the plow. Hope you and your family had a great Thanksgiving. As always, thanks for sharing!

Thanks Carl. I wasn't hurt bad but just enough to smarten me up.
Nice fabrication . Stay safe, Joe Z
Excellent fabrication as usual..now all you need is snow..lol..would like to see more of you and Ginger at play..she is so smart..see you on the next one Cheers friend 🥂🥂🥂🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
i made a snowplow for an old riding mower from a 1/3 section of a 55gal. blue plastic barrel, 5 milk jugs full of water wired to the back for down pressure and an old bed frame. it worked really well, and the snow didn't stick to the plastic blade. it did wear out pretty quick because i didn't use a steel scraper at the bottom of the blade, but it only cost some time since i got the barrel, jugs and bed frame for free. i used the deck lift lever to lift the blade, and pivoted the plow frame from bits of bed frame bolted to the mower frame hanging down behind the transaxle. the only money i spent was when i used a 3" hole saw to cut holes in the sidewall of the rear tires and filled them with bag concrete for extra traction. two 60lb. bags of post mix were less that 3 bucks each. i should've run sharpened 3/8" bolts through the tread to have ice spikes, but didn't think of it until after i filled the tires. hindsight don'cha know.

That's awesome. Some 3/8 spikes would be nice!
Even though I never really liked UTVs, my mind does a 180* when you put a plow on it. Looks really really useful. hahaha
Belt and braces engineering that's the way to go. It's great how you do things like this in you garage not in some sterile pristine workshop with shiny brand new gear. Just like we do in our home shops. Nice work mate.

Thanks
Hey Moe. I'm sure that's water cooled, so a heater core in a box with a blower would be great in an enclosed cab. Don't know how many times I've wished for a rig like that when the wind is really blowing. Gets pretty cold here in Michigan. Nice job on the A- dapter kit. That power angle will be nice too.

I've debated rigging up a quick heater and enclosure but time has gotten away from me this winter.
Hello Kitty makes an awesome helmet. Your thought process on how to engineer the project is appreciated. Anyone could have done a cheap shortcut; you took time to do it right. Thank you for great content. I hope your ankle is ok.

i really need to do something like this for my snow blower bracket, ended up welding it to my existing plow mount on my 4 wheeler but definitely needs to be easily removable unlike the plow mount i have now. thanks for the inspiration will have to get to it next year though since we are getting hammered with snow all week.
I'd like to personally thank you for the electric dryer heater video my garage is staying nice and usable this year without the loss of my fingers haha

Great timing. Good design. I just got a good running 1998 yamaha 4 wheeler with a plow thats not mounted right. Ill be redoing it here for this winter in ohio
adjourn for the evening, and reconvene in the morning.
Man, another reminder that I still have to build a tow-behind plow/box scraper after the garden tractor its going on is finally running. Not having a workshop with a roof sucks balls when it rains for the three days you slotted out to do the job... Think I'm going scraping for a water heater or maybe get lucky and find an expired acetylene tank to plasma the blade out of. Not without irony, all of this is to finally get the pad graded so I can build the workshop. It never ends!
@sixtyfiveford

Nice ideas. Water heater steel is a decent thickness and could be layered for more strength.
U-bolts might make install/removal easier to connect plan brackets to the frame… but workable solution
Never ending work.... when you are skillful !!!!!!
Now for some snow and to get Ginger to run the blower and after the ball too! God Bless Yall!
That’s a cute welding hood

Nice build it’s going to be a useful tool.
11:22 I was waiting to see if you'd run into this - I adapted a Bolens snowplow to my Simplicity tractor and had to cut mine like this as well. It affects how hard the corners of the blade cut into the surface you're plowing as well.
Well, if i had much snow i would build one like that but i don't. Ginger is awesome
Excellent idea for a blade angle motor, I'm putting one on my Rhino snow plow.

I did move the little angle adjust winch forward a few inches so I could get a little more height. I think I'm around 7" which is usable.

Hey thanks
Good call on not just welding 2 tabs. It would be easier to do but it would get stuck on everything. Not only that you know they would be bent or broken off the next time you needed it
@sixtyfiveford
Жыл бұрын
Very true. I didn't think about that. They would for sure be bent the next time I tried to reattach the plow.
The winch for angling the plow is a great idea that I must say I’ve never seen before.

It seams to work very well.
Nicely done!
Well the snow is on its way. 🤐
Very cool The neighborhood will love you come time to clear the road.
I'm going to do this with my old atv plow but I'm putting it on my heavy duty Cub Cadet mower. The mower came with the house but I hate it as a mower so I still use my Walmart mower. It's heavy so I thought with tire chains it would be good for plowing. It's got the floor forward/reverse no gears so it should be fast.
🤦WHY ... Didn't I think of that? great job.😁👍
Great vid, Moe! I didn't know you have a pink welding hood? Looks awesome! 💥💯👏

Just a thought, would you be able to put bigger wheels/tyres on to lift it a little more & maybe snow chains would give you say another inch maybe?

I'm so lazy that I'd have built a belly plate with 2 ears that utilized the factory holes at that crossmember further rearwards behind the plows mounting ears and used longer bolts... But we all roll differently so...

Then again I'd never live anywhere where I'd need a snowplow because A) I hate cold and B) I'm too lazy to wanna hafta snowplow and shovel cold wet stuff in the cold... 😁
Watch it not snow all winter. lol. I'm kidding of course. Living in the mid-Atlantic we don't see too much of the white stuff. I think Utah is a little different.

Now you just need to enclose the cab, add a heater, a rotating light on top, a roll-down window, a pack of cigarettes rolled into your sleeve, a USB port, a salt spreader and then you're good. Nice job though.
