Never too late to start. I, too never really liked cooking and tend to stick with the basics, but I’ve grown tired of the same things. I want to expand a bit and this channel has motivated me.

I have made this easy recipe and it is a repeater in my kitchen. No more spending all day in the kitchen making it from scratch (and trying to find sweet-fresh peaches). My family loves it.

I would use flour as a substitute in gravies but not in peach cobbler as it would make the sauce milky looking, where cornstarch makes for more of a translucent sauce. Plus, I think the taste would change a bit also.

My grandmother put a capful of imitation butter in her's plus the nutmeg & cinnamon and vanilla. I never used corn starch. Gramma said a little flour and water.

If the filling is cold and the crust is hot, the crust will come out gummy. Or the oven is too cold. Oven should be set at 450

Even though we use the terms interchangeably a true cobbler has a topping that looks like cobblestone. Usually this is made with a dry mix or dropped biscuit not a traditional lattice or pastry dough.
