    I was at the vet the other day with my budgie for the first time since fixing most of the mistakes I made over the years (little cage, two females, plastic toys, all seed diet, never letting them fly, grabbing them etc). It’s only been a year since I switched them to pellets and chop, gave them loads of more natural toys, let them fly every day for a few hours, gotten a bigger cage and slowly started building up their trust with me again. I was terrified of going to the vet because I was so ashamed over how badly I treated my budgies but also because I was afraid they were going to tell me that my little budgie Jazz was in horrible condition. And yet the vet told me she was completely and utterly healthy (especially for such an old budgie she’s almost 9). Her diet was great and her current care was perfect,The shock and happiness literally made me cry. It was the complete opposite of what I expected. I’m glad my budgie is okay despite how bad her care has been and I’m so happy that me improving her care helped her so much. It has been a LONG road of mistakes and even though I just started learning about how to properly take care of them I have always completely and utterly adored my little birds. I love them and hope they live long lives (along with me hopefully continuing to do right by them). I encourage everyone to always evolve their care because care can always be better. It’s so important to grow and learn from your mistakes and do better. It’s never too late to change...And our little friends deserve the best care possible. Just wanted to share!

  • @stuckinthelazycorneragain4016

    @stuckinthelazycorneragain4016

    3 жыл бұрын

    @@camillegill8517 Typically yes as females tend to be quite aggressive towards each other, one will usually become dominant and start bullying the other one. Could be not letting them play with toys, sit on certain perches or arguing over food they can even start biting/pecking their wings etc. It's horrible. With that said not all females will do this there are definitely cases where they get along just fine and love each other however the best pairing you can have is male/male or female/male. In my case I had two females and one of them got bullied constantly.

    @@stuckinthelazycorneragain4016 actually I have a male and a female in the same cage and they practically do the same thing my female likes everything for herself and she’s constantly fighting over swings, food bowels perches etc. So I don’t think it’s bad to have two females all birds fight just make sure they don’t actually hurt each other and there’s enough things for them.

As soon as If found out about you, you I started making sense of why my bird was acting the way he was. You're videos showed me where I went wrong, and within a week of me trying the techniques from your channel, I was able to fix all my problems. Now, I am the proud owner of a gentle, eager-to-train, out-going bird, and his diet is the best. I am so thankful to you. Regards

    Elle, I finally made some chop for my cockatiel and was so excited that she actually liked it! But if she gets a choice, she usually goes for the seeds. I have also noticed that it affects her droppings. They looked like sprouts. Gross, I know. Thanks for the video! *UPDATE: Now I make the chop and spoon it into mini ice cube trays and freeze it. When they're frozen, I put the chop cubes in a zip loc freezer bag. To serve it, I thaw it and smush it up and sprinkle a little seed mix on top and mix it up some more. The seed mix is: black chia seeds, white millet and hemp hearts. I keep the seed mix refrigerated. I also like to add dried bird greens to dry it up a bit. Sometimes I add other things liked chopped up mini bell peppers, Gerber sweet potato baby food, alfalfa sprouts, etc. He gobbles it all up!

    when I got my budgie after like one day of it being left alone in it's cage so it got used to it, on the second day I put some food on my hand and he ate from it almost right away! But that is probably due to the fact that my cousin owned him and i'm guessing she had a pretty good bond with him. But I was still a person he has never seen before, maybe he is just good with people? it was was still surprising to me that he ate right from my hand tho/
