Make Many Wool Prefelt Fabric Squares Fast and all at Once Wet Felting Tutorial ✿

I never have any prefelt to make my wet felting prefelt project! In this video, I make many pieces of partially felted fabrics fast and all at once. I will show you the basics so you can apply beautiful techniques to your projects. Many of the techniques in this series can be used together to create prominent textile art.
When I began wet felting there were only a few basic tutorials. On this channel, I want to share with you everything I know so you can easily begin upgrading your craft by creating notable fibre artwork more quickly. I am excited about the future of this channel and want to show you how to make a craft product quickly. From illustrative conceptual ideas into remarkable creative work that is ready to repeat quickly using minimal tools and resources.

Check your pre-felt after every round to see if it is stuck together enough. If it is, then your pre-felt is ready. Because I am a very light roller, I don’t always realise how quickly easily the wool can begin to felt. A strong arm will yield partially felted wool more quickly. The solution I think is best is to check it after every rolling round. (After rolling 30x on all four sides of your project) 😊

Thanks for sharing. I really like how clear and easy to follow your instructions are. Did you make the beautifu crop tops in the background? If so, do you have a tutorial for making them?

I appreciate you asking about the mohair tops so much. This is very encouraging. They are my dream and work in progress. I have size small patterns roughly written and drawn up. Ive hit a wall with converting them to other sizes. Will either learn how to do or or I will find someone who does this sort of thing. I plan to make KZread videos for each one on the future :)

What about rinsing the soap out? Or do you leave the soap in it for use in future project? What if the prefelt won't be used in a longer time frame, is it ok to store with the soap not washed out?

Hey Kach, good question! Especially because you could be using super soapy soap! if this is the case, you should quickly give them a rinse, definitely wash the soap out, gently! Because it's hard to say what chemicals or super soapy soap could do to the natural fibre. I tend to not bother rinsing the soap out, because I will be using it in another project, but also because the soap I am using is a natural tea tree based soap or an oil based soap. After working the entire project, it seems as though my soap has completely disappeared. Maybe its really bad soap! Before wool is processed, it contains natural oils, so I figure it doesn't hurt to keep a natural oil based soap in the fibre. I hope this is helpful!

I had the problem, that the pre felt did not stick to my projekt.

Oh no! I will pin a note to the top of the comments about the rolling part. It is really really dependant on the pressure applied in the rolling. I teach classes and notice that everyone rolls differently and if you roll with more pressure, your wool will felt more quickly. I am a very light roller so I don't often realise how quickly it can become felt for others. So sorry to hear that and I hope you try it again! It can definitely take some time and practice to know when the pre-felt is complete. Please let me know if you have any questions about it or suggestions :)
