Just brought two litre bottles of Honey Rum back from Gran Canaria, may have to try this when I run out, not sure I can live without it now, lovely.

I've never tried Ron Miel honey rum, but on the basis that it appears to be honey mixed with rum I would guess it to be very similar to the version in my video. Only one way to find out and that is to try it. I'd recommend a cheap generic rum as the dominant taste will be the honey.

Going to have to try this as i've almost run out of my favourite Canarian Honey Rum and can't get hold of it in the UK.

You can add honey to bourbon too - very tasty.

I left the whisky version out in case he wants to cover that angle. The first time I tried this it was with whisky.

I was just in the kitchen today thinking about treating myself to a bit of vodka. I usually dont chase it with anything but I noticed a bottle of honey laying around. I decided to take a shot with a tea spoon of honey. Afterwords, I found this video and it seems like a better option.

Niiiice because I never chase my Vodka with anything but this looks good and easy thank you im going camping and gonna try it we tend to always do the Jack Daniels honey because our group aren't fans of vodka who knows I may be able to compel them now hehe salud.

Rum producers do it for you, so nowadays, you can spare yourself the bother. Some use decent amount of sweeteners, some, like El Dorado (or any Demerara rum, practically), A.H. Riise or Zacapa, use loads of sugar (often 20 - 40g/liter). Honest, non-sweetened rum is increasingly hard to find, because the sugar-addicted consumers complain that it "tastes too harsh". So you are often sweetening an already sweetened product.

We use to make so called hot toddies when we would get sick, one shot, drink it up, cover up with big blankets & sweat it out all night long & feel brand new in the morning with the fever & all was gone. It was just a shot of whiskey & a little honey & warmed it up on the stove to enough to melt the honey somewhat & not hot enough to be still able to drink it. If sick enough you'll try pretty much anything to get well.

I'd be willing to bet a splash of honey would be good in a bottle of Windsor (or similar) whiskey as well.

Clive I've tried it and just cant get that honey rum ron miel taste. Cant wait for people to start going back to the canaries so they can bring me some of the good stuff back.

im going to give this a try.. had some honey rum before, it was delicious.. If your saying "sláinte" and the end.. the irish for cheers, its pronounced slaancha.. if your not saying sláinte then theres another word out there thats very simular! keep up the good work :)

I'm pronouncing it in a bastardised Scottish/Irish way. Our accent is quite "gutteral".

Since I'm a Crown Royal Lover I was so excited to find out they were going to sell Crown Royal Honey, When I asked them when to expect it to you shelves in the USA in PA they answered back with a sorry Crown honey will not be offered in the USA. Now if thank you for this video. I plan trial and error my Crown Honey at home.

It's on the shelves in the US now ! Just seen it a couple of days ago in Idaho.

Love this :) tell you another trick as well take 1L of the cheapest strongest voddie you can buy add 300ml of that clear honey BC mentioned and a bit of dry Mediterranean herbidge (not too much) leave it for about 3 months and the voddie will reduce in abv, thicken to the consistency of Harveys sherry and taste great.

Here's a tip cinnamon works with it, drop a stick into it and let it sit like week or two. It will have a little darker more pleasing color and improves the over all taste. you can also drink this hot if you want.

Try adding some lemon juice + peel and some cloves, and leave it in a basement for a year at least. Heavenly stuff.

Mmm! Honey Vodka / Rum is soo nice! I buy the 1.5tr Carta Blanca Superior White Rum from Asda & Mix it with 100% Pure Raw Organic Honey off of Amazon.

Clickbait title! "Make honey vodka very quickly." I was expecting to see how to take cheap honey and quickly turn it into vodka (somehow bypassing all that tedious fermenting and distilling stuff). Failing that, I expected to see Clive get falling down drunk. All we got was the rather obvious "squirt some honey into some vodka."

Sounds like the worst idea ever - sugar in alcohol is what makes your head hurt in the morning. Probably delicious though.

ohh its nothing to do with congeners , such as methanol, are metabolized to the notably toxic substances formaldehyde and formic acid. Yeah.. it must be the sugar
