@@ABTabi for me to use a 7 ohm ntc in this circuit what do i need to change?

I am going to put a directional centrifugal fan below my Video Capture card in a PC and set it below it to speed up and take power straight from the PC's power supply but when I plugged it straight into the power supply it had no instance where it was silent enough to be of use. I am buying a few Thermistors (a pack of all the levels) so it can be silent during the day. This is a very helpful video! Thank you!

Great curcuit.. Simple is best , i used this for cooling my battery charger (1k ohm +500 ohm pot. in series for adjust, and some transistor or mosfed That worked ... thank you.

I know this video is old, but do you think the air coming from a furnace would be hot enough to turn the fan on? The furnace does blow very hard in my bedroom and like to install a fan in the vent where it'll kick on when the heat is on and goes off when the furnace turns off. Would this setup work?

Tendrias que haber usado un triac o un tiristor en vez de un mosfet, el mosfet debido a su fuga va a dejar de conducir tension y se apagara el ventilador

@@ABTabi But what does it do? Is supposed to lower the voltage going to the Gate. I built one and it worked fine but the fan wouldn't turn off. I've learned that this do to capacitance stored in the MOSFET. Now it won't function at all. Perhaps my fan went out. I haven't looked at it yet. So what is the resistor supposed to do?

Is it a PWM driving of fan speed? I have made the same, it works perfect but fan makes high frequency sound, some like a squeak when it is stoped.

Tried it and the fan sinned barely at 10% speed. And the heat it needed was too hot to turn on. The Amp need to be super hot before tur ING on and it was slow spinning. Major adjustments needed. 12v fan

Decrease the resitor value not too much, so that a little more current flows from the thermal resistor but don't decrease too much

what temp as in F* does the thermistor trigger on?

I like you're video. I have a question. How would you make the temperature sensor be able to turn on when a temperature reaches 120 degrees? I have a battery discharge Bank that connects to my RC battery charger and I saw one discharge bank had some kind of wiring in it that only the fans would come on when the discharge Bank reached 120 degrees. Is there a way to make a circuit to be able to do that with the current set-up that you have?

Does that mosfet really need a heat sink? It must be burning up a lot of juice to need that.

you are wrong . it is ntc thermistor . decresing resistance with increasin heat . fan speed increases with heat

@@bogatiiplays best is to use adjustable resistor ( trimpot ). it allows you to start fan rotate at any temperature . for example you can start fan rotate at 10 degrees

@@bogatiiplays purpose of the resistor is to start fan rotate before critical- thermistor conductivity .. for example .( thermistor value is 30 degree ) fan will not work till 30 degrees .. you can start the fan rotate at 10 degrees by choosing suitable resistor .. then when the temperature reaches to 30 degree its seed will increase by thermistor .. if resistor is not involved . the fan will start to rotated only when the temperaure reched to 30 degree

Yea . I was looking how to control at which temperature the fan turns on. Right now I ue arduino and DS18b20 but I get more and more small fan I want to turn on at about 30 degrees. I have thermistors and mosfets.

You just need ksd9700 It is a thermostat temperature switch, you don't need different modules to turn it on , it comes in several temperature range

Not temp ya need to know it's resistance does it increase or decrease with heat he must of selected a resistor based on that Just a guess but looks like it reduces resistance the hotter it gets

you can put a relay instead of the fan. to switch on off the 220v fan. circuit is to turn on the relay.
