Thank you so much for this helpful tip. I love the way you draw your realistic animals. The colors are so brilliant and appealing to the eye.👏 I would get so aggravated when my drawings comes out all smugly and grainy. They look unfinished. Yes, you are so right that the paper makes a big difference on how the drawing turns out. I'm learning this the hard way. 😅 I appreciate your guidance. Love the drawings... 🌟

You're welcome, glad to help! Yeah, having grainy-ness where you don't want it with colored pencils isn't fun! Solvent is amazing at getting rid of the grainy-ness, and you can get away with using more textured paper to make layering easier too. Thanks so much for watching my video. 😀

Thanks for this video. I do struggle getting my colors to pop & they tend to look flat after using solvent

You are so welcome! To avoid the flat look after blending with solvent, you need to add a final layer of colored pencil, the "flat" look really only seems to be an issue with darker colors. Thank you for watching my video!

The smaller ones do, where as larger ones can take me between 20 to 70 hours.
