They are both lovely!
Thirds is interesting, but my eyes prefer the ivory. To me is balanced.Perhaps it's because of being use to what you see.the other card is nice too and looks ok, maybe it was the craft card base, it was dull. 🤷♀️ but, Lol will keep in mind about the thirds next time I do a card and see what I come up with. Thanks for sharing
I will think about the thirds rule now. Thanks

glad we have helped!
The rule of thirds layout looks more proportional but looking at the design the real pro tip that I don’t think I would have thought of is the white gel pen line that draws it together. Thanks for the tips.
Well the rule of thirds might be an interesting concept but I definitely prefer the ivory card - looks far more natural to my eye. The other looks too “busy”. Guess that’s the enjoyment of this craft - we”re all different.

I agree
Hi Lou not just rule of thirds but odd numbers seem more pleasing to the eye

That's a great tip, odd numbers definitely look more pleasing to the eye when it comes to embellishments etc - I wonder why
I actually think I prefer the Kraft card one
Lou, I usually agree with you but not today. I preference the cream based card
Totally agree, the third rule is far more appealing to the eye! Thanks for sharing!
Thanks Lou. I think both cards are great but do prefer the third rule. It's more interesting. X
These are both beautiful cards, but I prefer the ivory card. I think the kraft card is what is throwing me off on the other one. Beautiful kit though.

Me too
Thank you very much for this great tutorial. I absolutely love this rule. I like both cards but the one with the rule of thirds is amazing. Do you have other videos on this topic?
Very interesting video. In my previous life I was a mathematician, my specialty was the Fibonacci series which leads to the rule of thirds. There are a lot of examples of it happening in nature and lots of famous art work is based on it. It also shows why 3 or 5 embellishments work on a card but other numbers don’t.

Thanks so much!
Hi Lou. What great cards. We use the rule of thirds in painting as well. In a landscape, for example, the horizon line should be either be a third from the top of the paper or for a lower horizon a third from the bottom. Great rule for card making too. Thank you for the reminder. - Dawn 🌅

Great tip!
Love the cards, but the one using the rule of thirds is much more pleasing to the eye to me. I am a florist by trade and have always used the working in threes fives etc basically odd numbers method. Which I have carried over into my card making. And also it's very useful to use in your home decor items i.e three candles placed together.
