Make ANY Water Pump Variable Speed - Pond, Sluice Box, Water Feature
Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль
In this video I describe how you can turn any single speed water pump into a variable speed (or variable flow) water pump. In this example I show how I turned my 3000 GPH (Gallons Per Hour) water pump into variable speed with two techniques. One technique involves using an electronic variable controller, and the other involves using a split flow design with PVC pipe and PVC fittings. Through these methods you can control the rate of water flow.

Please NOTE: I Messed Up: After recording and publishing this video I realized I said "GALLONS PER MINUTE" throughout the entire video. Sorry, I'm not sure where my head was. I mean GALLONS PER HOUR!

Great video ,very informative 😉,what brought me here, pond pump and air pump .like you bought a big one for 10k pond ,10k litres an hour, was looking at the smart dimmer plug and maybe i could control the flow of the air /pond pump down or up via an app ,but your way variable controller maybe the way to go ,brilliant a big thank you from Wales UK 👌

You're welcome. Thanks for the comment.
Thank you your video was quite helpful. Do you think reducing the output of the pump will damage it in any way.
Thanks, I bought this exact pump. This is helpful.

Very good idea, thanks. Just commenting that a 1.5" pipe is NOT twice flow than 2x 3/4" pipes. The section and flow grows square with the diameter.

I mention it in the video near the beginning. Half Off Ponds.
I was shocked when you kept repeating 3000 gallons/minute... but it is actually /hour :)... but even like that... that figure seems way too much

Perhaps. If wrong than I don't think any of the numbers on the boxes mean anything.

Helpful video, thank you. I have a 10,000 gph pump for my pond and waterfall and need to control the flow/vary it. I can't find an adapter kit for my pump because the amps are too high. If you have any suggestions, I'd appreciate it.

@@mountainman5292 By adapter kit, do you mean a variable speed controller? If so, no, I don't know of one, but i never researched any further in that regard.
