Make any Vehicle Smarter | Banks iDash

Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары

The Banks iDash is the plug-and-play way to get more data out of any newer vehicle. But if you've got an older vehicle with no OBD or a custom build, you can still take advantage of the iDash's capabilities with our powerful suite of sensors and modules. Not only can the iDash display and log data from any sensor you plug into it, but it can also combine those readings to give you calculated values no other gauge can. These sensors can also work in tandem with data from an OBD-II connection, and even with data from aftermarket ECUs.

Just got a Mitsubishi 4M40 diesel engine up and running and right now we are flying blind with no data, and that really bothers me. I have seen the advantages of the iDash and trying to roll my own solution would be daunting. Already designed and built my own programmable glow plug controller and injection pump solenoid relay controls, that was months of research, design, digikey orders, soldering, testing, etc. Going to be taking a serious look at the iDash, just makes sense. Thanks!

Glow plug relay controller? I'd like to see more about that

  • @Wandering_Horse

Well I used a samd21 microcontroller to output a 3.3v signal to a Bosch NTC temp sensor. Based on the feedback from this sensor I determine the length of time to hold the glow plug relay output. Then once you hit the starter the glow plugs quickly reignite assisting in starting. Once the engine fires, the alternator puts out a 12v signal, at this point starts the afterglow sequence which checks for temperature (140*f), if less then, hold glow plug on until either 140*f OR 2 minutes, either condition over-rides the other. Sequence complete, the engine is running clean and kicking ass. Lightweight flywheel assists in quick revs, but suffers at idle. But who's hanging out at idle time! ;)

Yo Banks team! Love watching your videos, they're always so informative and entertaining at the same time, I've learned tons of new things that I would have never even thought of to fine tune engines and find bottlenecks in aftermarket parts. With that being said, I haven't seen any dyno tuners that take it to the depth you guys do, and as an owner of a Subaru STI with a picky EJ25, it's been on my list to find a tuner that has the ability to hammer out all the little details like you guys do to keep your builds reliable. Do you guys have any dyno tuning shops in mind anywhere in the US that take it to a similar level as your team, or is that stuff mainly reserved for just high end racing applications? Any info would be greatly appreciated! Wishing Gale good health and many more years to record his knowledge and pass the torch!

there are plenty of tuners throughout the USA that can tune the vehicle in person or remotely for you! If you haven't already, look into an aftermarket ecu and choose a tuner who is working with the specific brand ecu you purchase. I can't speak highly enough about the Haltech Nexus r3 and r5, I highly recommend them!

What does gale think of this, assuming you have good injector timing and sufficient rail pressure could you help a VGT turbo spool even faster by running your a/f ratio richer as the turbo is about to spool so there would be more air volume going into the turbo because the gas is hotter? I don't want antilag or black smoke. Just brief high egt to mitigate lag even with a VGT

@bankspower when can customers expect programmers, intakes, exhausts, and other performance increasing parts (i.e. towing, MGP, etc.) for the new LZO setup on the half ton trucks? Specifically, can we expect anything in FY24? Will there be any concerns with voiding the 100k warranty with any of these items? Also, can there be media content walking through this new engine discussing air intake, cooling, exhaust, and any applicable upgrades to the flow of fluids throughout the truck (i.e. coolant, oil, differentials, etc.)

You can add a stand-alone MAF sensor to the iDash using a 5-channel Analog Sensor Module. This 5-Ch unit is our most versatile sensor module, offering 4 analog inputs plus one frequency input. You can connect any 0-5 volt sensor into the analog inputs. And, you can connect a variety of frequency sensors into the frequency input, like a Hall Effect Sensor, our Turbo Speed Sensor, or MAF sensor. Each channel can be configured to any parameter. After you've configured the input, you can name each input so they'll display your custom title on the iDash. bankspower.com/products/5-ch-analog-frequency-module-system-66554-idash-datamonster-supergauge

I don’t think I am going to drill holes or cut lines on a brand new 102,000.00 dollar truck. The truck has an oil pressure gauge option from Ford on the dash but it simply shows a high, low, or normal range. There is no actual oil pressure number. The Banks idash does not have an option to see your exact oil pressure in real time. I have the dual gauge setup and it’s amazing but how in the world could they have left that out ?
