Make a "Turkey Trot" Thanksgiving Quilt with Jenny Doan of Missouri Star (Video Tutorial)
Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль
Jenny Doan demonstrates how to make a festive Thanksgiving quilt using Heat n Bond Lite, the Missouri Star Mini Dresden Template, and 5 inch squares of precut fabric (charm squares). For this project, she used Acorn Harvest by Renee Nanneman for Andover Fabric.
This pretty harvest quilt combines applique dresden turkey blocks with a variation of Irish Chain that we call Irish Change. It's quick, easy, and "sew" fun to make!

I have gotten all my stuff, and I am anxious to get started.
Love how you make the Dresden look so easy to make! Adding this one to my list of quilts to make
Mis felicitaciones usted es toda una artista. Quiero aprender de usted este hermoso arte. Saludos desde Costa Rica
Great use of the scraps of the Heat &Bond. It’s one of those “duh! Why didn’t I think of that?” moments for me. Thanks for sharing. Cute pattern.
This would make an adorable pillow or shopping bag
Not sure why I had never thought of adding those little, leftover pieces of heat and bond to stabilize my appliqués. Awesome video as always. Thanks sew much.
So cute! And Irish Chain is one of my favorite blocks.
Thank you for the free turkey template pattern. This would be cute for a table runner also.
I love this quilt
It’s called a fan, the Turkeys fan. You all have been coming up with some great quilts! Love them💕💕💕
This is sew dang cute 😍 Thankyou for having the turkey pattern as a free download😘
thank-you, for sharing this cute pattern.
Gorgeous quilt! Gorgeous Jenny!! 💛🍁🤎🍁🧡
This would be an adorable table runner. Wish I had a table LOL I live full time in a small RV.
Soooo cute!
I laugh every time you sat Irish Change block, so funny to hear
We don't celebrate Thanksgiving here in the UK. However, I love peacocks & I can see how to make peacocks using the same method, especially in Kaffe prints.
Cute turkeys. We don't celebrate Thanksgiving here but this is a beautiful quilt for those who do.❤🇦🇺
That would really be nice as a table runner too!
I love the way the legs are done. The Japanese would call that wabi-sabi, perfectly imperfect. It gives the quilt a bit more affection having that human element in it. It looks great!
Thank you Jenny for explaining that we can use either our longer MSQC Dresden template/ruler or the shorter one for this pattern. Your clear explanation and no-stress approach makes all your projects irresistible!
This one is super cute! Using the Irish Chain block is a great way to set off any alternate block.
Turkeys are on my list of placemats to do this season! Thanks, Jenny!!!
Thank you Jenny for sharing this pattern.
Just got this collection stocked in my shop at Cottage Couture Fabric on Etsy, Ebay and Amazon. So cute!!
Thank you! I love your book! Got it this week and almost done. What a great story. Thank you for being you!!!
This is a darling quilt and goes on my list of quilts to make. 😊😊😊😊😊
This is adorable. I might give it a try. Made my first tree block last week so I'm feeling pretty confident.
Jenny, I love this project 😍. It’s genius, especially the Dresden. I’ve backed off on using it. But, seeing you put it together made it more comfortable to do. Thx Jenny!
You haven't even started cutting fabric yet and I've already hit the "like" button! This is one of the cutest things you've ever done!
This is a pattern that can be adapted to what ever theme you want it to be. Thanks Jenny!
I love that he looks like he is winking at us. I love this, I am going to be down with surgery for a little bit, I think I might have to do this one while I am out.
I just made a quilt with the same fabric! I have enough left to do this into a table runner😊 What a darling pattern. Thanks Jenny!
I am so happy to get this pattern! My granddaughter was born on Thanksgiving Day day! I am making it for her 18th birthday! Thanks!
I don’t celebrate thanksgiving here in Norway but this would look great with some whole dresdens instead of the turkeys. Now I know what to do with the autumnal jelly roll that’s sitting in my stash.
This is so exciting! Finally a turkey quilt! I can’t wait to make this as a prize for our 4H turkey barbecue winner.
I usually avoid using brown and grey of any shade in a quilt. I've never liked them. But this! This has convinced me there may be a place for brown in my life!! Thank you for demonstrating this quilt pattern.
Oh my goodness!!! This is the cutest lil turkey!!! 🤩🤩
Beautiful quilt. I received your book yesterday and finished reading it tonight. WOW!! What an amazing family. Thank you for sharing your story.

Great tutorial I would love to make it for next year. I have never made a Dresden blade. It’s not the blade it’s the appliqué work that scares me. This just might encourage me to try it. Thanks Jenny 🦃🇨🇦

That is really cute! Thanks Jenny!
I can see placemats, table runners... using those turkeys too, super fun & a great way to dress your table up for fall. The Irish chain blocks are lovely & work so well with so many blocks (I can see a Christmas quilt using Trees or a variety of Christmas themed blocks, or any holiday really). The fall lines in the precuts available this year are all so pretty, that border You used for this quilt is beautiful. The imagination, creativity, skill... you share with us every week is so inspiring & so appreciated. Can't tell You how much these tutorials Bless me as I'm not able to get out too much because of health/physical limitations. Like so many others I look forward to Fridays MSQC tutorial so much. Thank You. Ps. Congratulations on the release of Your book :)
