Make a "Starstruck" Quilt with Jenny Doan of Missouri Star (Video Tutorial)
Jenny demonstrates how to make a stunning Starstruck quilt using The Binding Tool by TQM Products. This quilt pattern uses 2.5 inch strips of precut fabric (jelly roll). For this tutorial, Jenny chose Edyta Sitar's "Perfect Union" 2.5" Strips by Laundry Basket Quilts for Andover Fabrics. Keep an eye out for a Christmas version of this quilt at the end of the video! It was made using a "Homegrown Holidays" Jelly Roll by Deb Strain for Moda Fabrics.

The date on the video changes, but it’s content, and beautiful quilt, never ages. It’s so beautiful! I so enjoy Jenny Doan, & the MSQC. So fun. Happy sewing!
LOL not only did the quilt change to Christmas, but Jenny's sweater did too. Priceless.
I love that she doesn't waste time with a lot of blah, blah blah and just gets right to the point. Great presentation, terrific video
Edyta Sitar is my FAVORITE fabric designer! I love it when you use her lines in your tutorials. Beautiful fabric and great pattern!
I like this pattern because its quick. I also have the binding tool and Christmas strips. The 5th star i would make my dog a matching quilt.
G'day Jenny, thanks for the tutorial. I'm definitely going to make it. I will use the last star to make matching pillow cases (half a star on each) Praying for you and your loved ones.
Now that was fun when you clapped your hands and another quilt appeared! I tried it but it didn’t work. 😀
Jennie, you are the best. I just figured out how to leave a message. So 1000 "you're greats" and 1000 " I love this" for all the ones I didn't get to comment on!! I started quilting about the same time you started doing tutorials so I can honestly say "I've learned everything I know from you." Thank you. ❤
I’m Starstruck at what you come up with Jenny👏👏 Very impressive, and love the table topper idea! Thanks for being so inspirational. Xx🇦🇺
Very cool. I love the stars. You should use that binding tool in your next 3 for 1 video and see what different things you 3 ladies can make there are some many possibles.

Love this star. Stars are hard for me but this looks doable and I just got a jelly roll that would look great in this pattern. Thanks Jenny!
That was so fun 💕 I especially like when you clapped your hands and the holiday quilt appeared. Such Magic!!! 💫🎆🎄
Giggled at your comment: “ What size is the border? It’s a 6” border. “ Yesterday you shared your secret on how you decide how wide to make your border! 😂 As I’m from New England, we call that, Yankee ingenuity! Make what you have work for you! 😊 This will have to be my next project

That's pretty funny. I labor over how wide to make my borders, using the Fibonacci sequence or the golden ratio and here they just use the width of whatever ruler happens to be laying around! :D

My grandmother would've used that last star in halves to make the quilt longer. I've noticed a lot of older quilts like that. Love this easy pattern!

Debbie Harris, I'm not sure I understand how you meant, your Grandmother would use extra star to enlarge it. Maybe by using each quartrant in corners? Would love to see it if you made one.
Great tutorial; and what a transformation from the blue/gold to Christmas! When I saw the Christmas table topper, I immediately thought “tree skirt”! It’s all fun!!
Ok..... Harvest gold is so not my color...or so I thought! 👀 that looks so fabulous with the blue! Thank you! This opened my eyes to a very different color from my norm and I must make this quilt!
Fantastic pattern and I loved the little surprise ‘magic’ in this one. 😉
I love Edita Sitar. This would make a lovely Christmas/holiday quilt to sit on a couch or a guest bed. You could even make one block for a wall hanging.I own the binding tool and it's great to have new projects to use it on. I guess I commented too soon lol.

I love this! I had been trying to figure out how to make a block like this to imitate an Air Force chevron for my father’s 87th birthday. He is a retired Chief Master Sergeant and is so proud to have served! This worked perfectly! I cannot thank you enough!
Ok....so the jingle bells and Jenny's clap gave me chills and made me gasp! Both quilts are beautiful!
Absolutely love the Christmas fabric, gonna have to get me some!❤️
My wife and I watched this video last night while going through the playlist, and we are absolutely mind blown by the iron that lifts itself off the table.
What a beautiful quilt

Jenny , I'm in love with these huge star quilts and the Christmas one would be great for my table ! I'm going to have to get an order from your store !! Thank you for showing me how to make these Amazing quilts !!❤😍
Very cool, especially for a young guy. I might make the central diamonds in light blue and leave the outer sections gold. I made your Binding Tool Star quilt back in 2015 and it's one of my favorites. Thanks for the pattern.
I love all of your star quilts ! This 2 sets are lovely. Dearest Jenny you are awesome & I hope your hand & arm will be ok xxx
Can’t wait to try this! At first it looks like the table runner pattern then you added the triangles to square it. I’m so excited to try this quilt pattern!!!
LOVE 💕 the Christmas quilt!!
Every Friday I look so forward to your tutorials you and your family are awesome thx you my kids would like the stars it looks like university of Michigan colors that we love GO BLUE!!!
Hi Jenny looks like you have had a fall! You are very brave making us a video even though you are not 100% well. Thinking of you and praying for your return to full fitness.
Love this and love the baby quilt star. Im so glad that you showed the table topper or what could be a baby quilt.
Ok, the blue stars were really nice but the Christmas stars...!!!!! I’m so making this pattern!!! Awesome way to start my Friday 😁💕💕
It’s so hard for me when I dislike a colour so intensely - the gold. I knew I loved the design of the quilt, though, and I’m glad I saw the Christmas alternative at the end! Beautiful work, Jenny!💕

Love,love,love the Christmas quilt!!
I said "this quilt looks too complicated and time consuming" until I watched the tutorial. Once again, Jenny outdid herself! And to use that beautiful blue fabric from Laundry Basket Quilts was perfect. Nobody does blue better!
It is so beautiful ,my grand daughter asked me to make her a quilt with Stars, just what I need thank you. I will have to watch it again to make sure I understand but you are all magicians in your group
AWWWESOME! Just ordered the Christmas jelly roll strips and looking forward to this project. Thanks, Ms. Jenny for your expertise. Blessings to you, always.
Love this quilt! And love the extra star for a table topper!
That is so weird I just picked up my binding tool yesterday and was wondering what my next project would be and here it is, awesome design. I will be so happy when your bruises go away makes me feel like I just want to help.
Me and a friend made this one together and picked our own fabrics. This was so much fun to make. Thanks!
I am planning this quilt with a newer Jellyroll, Antoinette. With the leftovers, I’ll save them and also add to the border of a planned quilt with another quilt I have planned: Sticks & Stones, also with Antoinette. It should work out nicely as the Sticks and Stones border comes up short for the entire border. They are both beautiful quilt patterns.
l love love love this star! Bonus is l have the binding tool ruler - love the extra baby quilt. makes a gorgeous christmas quilt- this is definitely on my to do list, thank you Jenny
Ouch! I hope you are well! Thank you for this positive tutorial, it makes me think I CAN do this project!
So many possibilities for this binding tool star. I love it. I made one at a retreat at MSQC several years ago. Such fun!
Jenny...and MSQC....I don't think I've EVER made a comment that was negative! I've followed you for almost 10 yrs....and love everything MSQC designs! I'll admit I'm not crazy about the gold.....but who knows? Probably within 2-3 days I'll learn to love it!
Jenny I am in love with this quilt and the surprise at the end. Woohoo cannot wait!
This was vintage Jenny at her best, lifted my day and created something fabulous to inspire all in one video! Thank you and take care as you recover.
Wow! I love a big star! This is absolutely beautiful and I just found my binding tool today, how serendipitous!
I love this one and the table topper.❤️ Looks like a lot of fun to make.👍🏻🌸💕
I love stars especially when they are huge. Makes it easy to make big quilts as I have a California King size bed this will make piecing so much easier.I have 4 paper bags of batiks strips I got at International Quilt show here in Houston. You bought it as a grab bag so my star is going to be scrappy batiks .We'll see what comes out.Thank you for that stash buster pattern ! Love it in Christmas fabric too !😊
I cannot wait to try this pattern especially with the Holiday theme material. You make everything look easy peasy! Thank you Jenny!
Thank you so much Jenny, that’s a fantastic quilt, and the extra star ⭐️ as a table topper, or baby quilt, amazing. I really really love 💕 this and I really really enjoyed watching you make this quilt. Stay safe and well too xxx Mags

WOW! Simply stunning. Um this will definitely be my next project!!!! Thanks Miss Jenny, love love love this pattern!!!!!!!!!
Gorgeous! I love them! Blue and gold were my high school colors (many years ago!), so I've always had a special place in my heart for that combination.
I love how your patterns look like they took so much work but are easily done! Agree with Retha, this would look awesome in autumn or Christmas fabrics. And those stars are stunning!
Love this quilt! Thanks, Jenny!
Just lovely thank you Jenny.
You are so ingenious! You are so industrious and a busy bee as you go through all of the strips. You are so funny that way and an absolute joy to watch! Contentment is there in those that do what they were meant to do! Thank you Jesus that someone out there gets this quilting thing and what it really means to us! I don't know why I have to sew every day but it was how I was made! I will be glad and rejoice in it!
I just love this one! I’m going to make it right now! Can’t wait to get started! I ‘m in love with stars! Working on the All Stars BOM this week. I’m behind and need to get caught up before it’s time to make the new one. Love you Jenny!
This pattern is so cute! And I really need to start using more colors as background like this gold!
I love that you clapped your hands together and the quilt in back changed to Christmas in July! :-)
I really love this one. Thank you Jenny!
Hi Jenny, This is a beautiful project. I’ve added it into my projects list. I am also a lefty, watching you helps me as so many things are done right handed. Take care.
