Love watching you transform these kits into something else. Now I have ideas for the kits I have.

I am so new to sewing, I didn't realize how easy these types of kits actually are. Thank you so much for this video! I am feeling more confident. Great bag too ☺️ Lots of love from the Pacific Northwest 🧡

@@CarolinaMoore Honestly I didn't think that placemat was my style but when you swapped the colors and did one upside down, I am definitely buying that kit! I know with practice I will be able to visualize better. ☺️

Being able to "see" the quilt/project in different colors is a talent! I'm not sure I have the full talent, but I'm willing to take risks. Sometimes they don't pay off, though! I have a few quilts that ... well... I don't love them. 😆

@@CarolinaMoore I have knitting projects like that. Not quite what I had in mind. Sewing scared me because once you cut the fabric, it's that size now. Yarn I can pull back and start over. But I realized I can use the bad cuts as patches for something so I just need to get started.

@AntisocialAuntie the fabric is that size until you sew it to another piece of fabric... and then it is bigger again. 😉 I love scrap tape for smaller scraps! And unlike yarn, you don't have to buy a full skein if you need more. Just a fat quarter. 🥰 I never got into knitting or Crochet. Couldn't keep even tension. So, I do quilts. And make bags. ❤️ But I'm so impressed by my yarn-skilled friends!

I also have a babylock ballad. I wish you would us it more so we could learn more about it while you sew. Plus, it's a wonderful machine and it has more throat space. 😉

Usually I sew on the Jubilant in my videos because the Ballad looks overwhelming to newer quilters, and I want to show folks that you don't need a "fancy" machine to make great quilts. But off camera, 90% of my sewing is done on the Ballad. Most of my shorts are sewn on the Ballad as well... But thanks for the suggestion. I'll have to bring her out more. ❤️

I'm a new quilter and I purchased my "fancy" machine so when I became a more advanced quilter I wouldn't need to upgrade.

@annettecook2143 I always recommend that folks buy at the top of their budget. Because so many features that would be so handy for newer quilters add to the cost. Number 1 on that list is an automatic needle threader. ❤️
