Make a quilt with scraps-foundation piecing-simple sewing
Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль
Make a simple quilt using your scraps. Use thin paper for foundation piecing and make this beautiful quilt block!
My foundation papers are from an old phone book. I cut them 8" x 8"
Remove paper after sewing the scraps and trimming...before putting blocks together in your quilt.

I used to sit on phonebooks at my grandma’s house when I was a young girl so when you brought out the pages can you remind me of sewing with her and from books I sat on
This is genius, combining improv and foundation piecing together.
I think I'll try this in greys and pinks. I agree with the other commenters...your videos are such great ideas, and its so calm and peaceful to spend time with you.
Great Idea to use up all those odd sized scraps it will be a beautiful quilt
Love this one...I like to use stops...this is a great idea instead of just squares. Thanks for your simplicity in quilting .I love it!!🤍☕
Love this idea! I like wonky triangles! And great to use what you already have - phone book paper!
Love this idea. Now off to the cupboard under the stairs in search of an old telephone book 😁
I love foundation piecing and love your triangle idea. A helpful hint to those who have never tried it..use small stitches when sewing, and very lightly mist with water your paper before removing. Just makes removing the paper easier.

Great tip!
I like that you aren't so worried about perfection! Just fun quilting! I always feel so good after watching your videos. Very inspiring. Thank you :)
Just the other day I was cleaning out my sewing room trying to get rid of stuff. Well I showed my daughter in law my phone book that I keep. She said “why” ? Well I just sent this video to her. I always enjoy watching you because you sew like I do. So relaxing to listen to you and get right down to the nitty-gritty. Thanks again for your foundation fun.
I love all your videos. You are sew talented. I enjoy time in my sewing room.. it is my happy place.. my husband was ill for a long while he is now recovering so I can go back to sewing now. It is so relaxing to watch you and your voice is so soothing. Your videos help me to love sewing more
I have been reading a lot of the comments and amazed that my thoughts were mirrored by so many quilters. I've been needing to make a 'cabin quilt', that is, one that would be perfect for a cabin since we live in Maine. This will be such a perfect choice. My biggest takeaway Beth is you bundling up your leftovers into individual bags. I like that better than my system....it reminded me of having sourdough bread starter on hand. You certainly are a great inspiration for so many of those who watch your videos.
I actually found some triangles in a bag and I might just use this idea thanks for sharing Beth ❤
Another winner!!! Loved this!
I Love watching your movies 💚 so calm, not go much talking and a little more free...I always watch one of two episodes before I go go sleep 😻
Thanks for the cheer and bright, lovely ideas. God bless. Dot Smith
What as awesome idea for our obsolete phone books.
I love this method but I never thought of a triangle center!! Always use a rectangle. Thank you! Great video again:) !
Beth, this is such a clever block. Thank you for sharing your creativity with us. You are amazing. ❤😊
Beth, I enjoy watching you as I quilt but I so appreciate the "quiet" episodes as well Helps me to just stop and relax.
Thank You Beth! For hanging out with us, and sharing your crafts! My place becomes peaceful when I'm watching and listening along! I settle right in by your side and then , it's over! But the memories will always be around! God Bless You and all that are dear to your ❤ ! And even those who don't even know truth may they be blessed as well!

What a great scrap buster and I like that you found a good use for an old phone book. Thanks a bunch for sharing this quilt video. It is much appreciated.
All of the ‘unplanned’ piecing with just two color ways made yet, another stunning design Ms. Beth! 🙏🏻👏🏻
Love this pattern, and I usually don't go for triangles.
They look awesome 👏🏻 they have fabrics that I wouldn’t think of putting together. That’s probably why mine aren’t as pretty.
This is a great stash buster!
Another beauty Beth.
Your videos are so inspiring. Thank you for sharing your ideas.
Beautiful! I would love to see the finished quilt!

Thank you Beth for making a quilt block look so easy to sew. I love your seemingly no fuss, no worries, always calm approach to quilting, I had not thought of a triangle. Your tutorials are always a joy to watch.

This is a great looking block! Will try this one.
Beautiful quilt blocks Beth. They will make a beautiful quilt. Great use of scraps.
Love the free form of the blocks
You have some wonderful ideas Beth 😊😊
I love this. Strung piecing is my favorite way to use up my scraps. Thanks for a different way.
What a wonderful idea
Very nice scrappy blocks :)
Excelente proyecto gracias por compartir bendiciones para todos los días desde Colombiaa
I love doing blocks like this! I'm thinking about cutting 60 degree triangles, then using a diamond in the center to build around. This one is beautiful with all the blues !
I just love this...the shapes, the colors, the phone book paper 😜---everything! So beautiful, Beth. Thank you for another inspiring project.
Thanks Beth❤❤
I never thought of a triangle center; I use a 5-sided shape. Also I never thought of phone book pages as a foundation. I need to get started on this one.
Wonderful scrap idea!

Awwwwhhh Beth, you are so kind and sweet🥰! It’s fun to sew with you as well. You are such an inspiration. Another option for my wannado list🙂. Thank you for all that you provide on your channel ❤️😀
Awesome 👏 thank you for sharing ❤️
This is an interesting quilt block. It would not take many blocks to make a quilt top for a baby crib.
Muito lindo. Deus abençoe com saúde e sucesso.
Loving this idea!
I just love this! ❤
This looks like a fun block, very different from starting with a square center. Can't wait to see the finished quilt.
Amazing!!! Many thanks!!
I made two 6" triangle blocks last night after watching this video. I used a fabric foundation. They turned out really cute, one is a Fall theme, and one is Christmas. I think I will make them into hot pads. You are my favorite sewing channel, I love your scrapy quilts!
Thank you for helping me see in different directions and yet always creative! God bless you and keep you.
You inspire me to use up my scraps!
Love this idea!! Always done strips but love the triangle center! New to your channel and I'm hooked!
Thank you Beth for yet another stunning "scrap" artistic quilt. What a great idea to use a triangle instead a square block in the middle. The blue and cream fabrics looks stunning together. 🌼
Could watch and listen to you all day. Thanks for your inspiration Beth. Xx
Love the idea of using the phone book pages, they are very thin and recycling is always a good idea
I was looking at the fabrics you used and how random they are but the over all effect is so lovely, this is definitely an area I will have to work on. I really like the block and each video I see/realise something else to grasp. Thank you so much for sharing 🌸 Have a lovely weekend.
I did a block like this in the Pattern Poole QAYGalong. It is a fun block, and done with the QAYG method, finishes up pretty quick. I love your color choices, the quilt-along was much more scrappy.
Great combination of colours. I usually use a five sided shape in the centres of my crazy patchwork like this. The triangle in the centre gives a great look to the blocks. Good job👍🇦🇺
I can’t wait to see it finished.
Thank you! I love your blocks.
Brilliant!!! So very clever. Thank you.
I love this method. ❤
Love this, thank you for sharing this!
Will definitely make this one! Love it! With your help telling me how to make a heart, I made a beautiful heart quilt for my friend. Love watching you. You make me feel calm. Great work! Thanks again!
So lovely. You give me great inspiration to make a quilt. Thank you. Marjan from the Netherlands
I love your vidoes!! I've learned so much 😊
So simple! Fun!!
