Make a quilt with scraps-foundation piecing-simple sewing

Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль

Make a simple quilt using your scraps. Use thin paper for foundation piecing and make this beautiful quilt block!
My foundation papers are from an old phone book. I cut them 8" x 8"
Remove paper after sewing the scraps and trimming...before putting blocks together in your quilt.

I used to sit on phonebooks at my grandma’s house when I was a young girl so when you brought out the pages can you remind me of sewing with her and from books I sat on

I love foundation piecing and love your triangle idea. A helpful hint to those who have never tried it..use small stitches when sewing, and very lightly mist with water your paper before removing. Just makes removing the paper easier.

Just the other day I was cleaning out my sewing room trying to get rid of stuff. Well I showed my daughter in law my phone book that I keep. She said “why” ? Well I just sent this video to her. I always enjoy watching you because you sew like I do. So relaxing to listen to you and get right down to the nitty-gritty. Thanks again for your foundation fun.

I have been reading a lot of the comments and amazed that my thoughts were mirrored by so many quilters. I've been needing to make a 'cabin quilt', that is, one that would be perfect for a cabin since we live in Maine. This will be such a perfect choice. My biggest takeaway Beth is you bundling up your leftovers into individual bags. I like that better than my system....it reminded me of having sourdough bread starter on hand. You certainly are a great inspiration for so many of those who watch your videos.
