Make a Polymer Clay Rose Cane 🌹 Polymer Clay Cane Tutorial

Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль

Here's another rose cane build - this one is in my favourite off-white blend. I use this mix - Premo 18k gold to white - for most of my warm, off-white blends in canes. The background for this cane is translucent clay but as for many canes other colours work great. When I use this cane it's often the accent to darker colours like crimson roses.
I'm using Premo for this but any clay works well and if you don't have the warm neutral I use (18k gold) you could use any light, sandy colour.

So cool and so simple❣️ I can see why you like the white and 18k gold blend, the way you used it makes the flower so soft, just lovely, very sweet. That’s a lot of cane!! Thank you for sharing 💛🤍💛

It IS a bunch of cane! I make them to sell so I'm making way more than what I would make just to use... although i still make too much then too :) You could easily do this with 1/2 or 1/4 the amount of clay and just making the layers thinner and components smaller in diameter. I should probably start prefacing with I'm a production artist doing a ridiculous amount of canes, not a sane person making one person's cane supply!

Was it premo white translucent you used? I love this cane. So subtle, great for layering and your technique is so simple😁 Thank you for the time you take to share with others❤

I'm actually not sure which translucent I used! I have both in blocks in my studio and sometimes I mix and sometimes I just cut off the block. Functionally, sliced thinly, I find no difference... which may be controversial :) I used to be all about the white translucent but over time I did not find it enough different to make up for it being occasionally harder to get and a bit stiffer for handling.
