Make a Cable Spool Pallet Bench - DIY Pallet Project

Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль

When you're a DIYer and you see a giant, abandoned cable spool on the side of the road, your first thought is "I could make something with that!" And that's exactly what happened when JZ saw a cable spool in the same spot for weeks.
After checking to be sure it wasn't claimed by anyone (and that it wasn't illegal to take it), we loaded it up on the truck and started thinking through what we could make with a giant cable spool. A serendipitous need for new outdoor seating under the tent on the patio led us to this: a Cable Spool Pallet Bench.
We secured some pallets thanks to finding a listing on Marketplace and went to work creating the Cable Spool Pallet Bench. Note that if you aren't fortunate enough to find a cable spool on the side of the road, you can likely find one on Craigslist or Marketplace, which is also where you can find pallets for this DIY project.
We take you through step by step in this video on how to make a Cable Spool Pallet Bench. Check it out, and let us know what you think in the comments below.

I used to always see these for free on the side of the road. Then I always see them turned into tables - this is a new spin to it. Love it! Good job

This turned out amazing! When I was a kid, my dad somehow brought home a spool that was probably 8-10 feet across. He framed some walls on the outside, took a few sheets of 1/4 plywood, and wrapped it around the outside and we had a playhouse!

Oh what a cool idea!! That must have been so fun to have as a kid. There’s actually another spool sitting right outside here, but it’s full of power line...line. 👀

Looking at the thumbnail and realizing you did not pay for the wood, I was thinking, that is really nice looking for the price, but the cushions made it awesomer (if that is a word). Great job you two!!!
