Dude, thank you for making this. Came across your channel while looking for turbo inlet pipe/hose videos. I’ve got an 8v A3 1.8t and the MQB platform across the board is very similar per application and model, which is exactly why Your videos can have some degree of benefit and info for myself. Again, thank you. Got my sub for sure man. For sure.

I have basically this same setup but I also run a CTS Turbo front mounted intercooler and ARM charge pipes and that helps also. The intercooler helps mostly with heat soak so you aren't running high intake temps after just a few pulls. I keep everything cool with a Racingline oil cooler tucked under the passenger wheel well. I use the Racingline catch can also and the TIG welded oil pan by ECS. Those combined make for a reliable (long lasting) build. I had my intake manifold replaced and all of the valves cleaned prior to the catch can and while it wasn't bad, there was definitely some carbon build up even after 20K miles.

Anyone here who needs to rebuild their HPFP it is super easy, it is not labor intensive! It is a basic piston design, I have done it multiple times on Mazdaspeed 6's and 3's and several other cars. It seems way worse than what it is. I do not blame anyone though for doing a direct swap just keeps the install time down, but the HPFP rebuild takes like 5-10 minutes once you have it out. Anyways amazing video!

Changing your exhaust is SOO WORTH it, IF you're willing to go through the headache/$ to make it sound right! I wanted a mature, no-rice growl without drone, that's civil in neighborhoods and a monster when you floor it. Easier said than done.. Found myself buying 3 different resonators, learning the Science of helmholtz resonators, bolting different crap up to the exhaust countless times. Yes, an exhaust opens up some more power. But it's the subtleties- Turbo flutters, vibrations in the gas pedal and stick, less lag in between shifting, you just feel much more connected to the car. I'm manual, but get DSG farts, except they're not DSG farts, they sound like gutteral bombs exploding in the near distance. I FINALLY got it dialed in, and she nasty 😅

Once she was free to breathe on both ends, the drone was minimized with a very mature exhaust note (for a 4 banger). Hope this helps

@@JewelCity1 so is it the stock DMF? With a stage 2 or 3 clutch and new TOB? I was wondering if I could maintain the stock DMF since the whole clutch, pressure plate, and flywheel were just replaced for free by the dealer I purchased it from. Just trying to save money and possibly maintain the quieter DMF

@@JewelCity1 so I would just need pressure plate and clutch from stage 2 and I’m good to go. I’ll be keeping my is20 for a year or so then eventually upgrade. But it should be fine on stock DMF with just a stage 1 or stage 2 tune with a DP correct? I’m new to all this stuff lol

Older video so may not get a response but curious. Do you have any updates/upgrades to your transmission?. In short I'm running a APR Stage 2 2015 Jetta TSI but I'm running into slight transmission slipping (first one gave out and I'm on a rebuild). Running stock turbo with 8lbs of boost

I want to add two things. The "back pressure" you mentioned is a myth. Especially when you contradicted when you talked about the benefits of a larger DP. Second I have Konig Hypergrams with 235 660s and they actually weighed just slightly more than my stock prets with 225 tires.
