In this episode, we will trek thru the breath taking MakaiBari Tea estate, where after a heavy shower in the morning, the trail had become very treacherous. It was slippery and made us look quite clumsy. Despite that, the trail was very beautiful. Water springs, tea picking and walking up and down the mountains was a treat.
Followed by that, we will visit the makaibari Tea factory, which has been in operation since 1860. It was quite an informative visit. Pity tho’, we were a bit late during the day, by the time we reached there, not much was happening. Despite that, we could see some tea roasting/drying and a perspective on how tea is made.
Lastly, we will cover the tea tasting organised by Taj Chia Kutir - where we interact with a very knowledgeable tea taster and learn about 4 different kinds of Tea.
In the next episode, we will take a nostalgic ride in the famous steam locomotive led train in darjeeling and walk thru central vista of darjeeling in heavy rains.
