YOU HAVEN'T SEEN THE AGENT CARTER SHOW OR THE MOVIES????!!!!! You NEED to. She's the most amazing character. She's so badass, yet so elegant. She's just perfect. As is the actress who plays her, Hayley Atwell. She's actually the reason I got into vintage in the first place, believe it or not. Before seeing The First Avenger, I had never even really looked at 40's fashion. But now I love it and everything about the aesthetic of the 40's era and other eras as well. You should at least see The First Avenger if you haven't yet. That's my favorite Peggy era. But she's especially badass in the show. So you should see that too. The only thing is that it's only got two seasons:( But you'll get over it. Someday. Maybe. Probably not.

4 year later: You were right! She has been getting more and more well-known!

I love watching Rachel's old videos, because while she seems more constrained and maybe even a little self conscious, sometimes the ✨chaotic energy✨ we know and love peeks through. It's so cool to see how far the channel has come, and how the videos themselves, the editing, and the production have all evolved, but stay true to herself!

I have a film I think you'd love, It's called The Age of Adaline. It's about a woman from the 30s/40s (I think) and because of a car accident she never ages. She still dresses kind of vintage and also speaks with a mid-atlantic accent. She's really classy and overall I love her character. I'm not going to say anymore though or i'll spoil it all

Oh.my.goodness. That suit looks like a dream on you! You could easily spend $79 on a modern skirt suit, so you made out like a bandit for an absolutely gorgeous, vintage outfit. This is an example of why it's worth waiting to find good vintage clothing.

You kept saying how "expensive" your items were, but oh girl, I never find such prices! You got some good deals. Maybe it's because I shop from Canada and our money isn't great these days (I cry everytime I shop on a UK website). 50$ for a 40's dress! I always see them around 100$ to 200$. Anyhow, great haul Rachel! :)

So here it is...almost fall again, and I can't wait. Not only am I ready for the super hot summer weather to be over, but I love fall/winter type outfits so much better than summer clothes. Also, I love all the fall/winter things...like the scents and the candles and all that.

I know nothing of hair, nothing of clothes, basically nothing of any of this but ever since I watched a bunch of like vintage-clothes themed videos one day, KZread has kept recommending me them and I am not complaining. I have been having heart-eyes at all of the things in the entire video.

I found a velvet trench coat the other day at the thrift store for $12 - it's WAY too big on me but it was so soft I fell in love. That black dress looks stunning on you - good purchase!

OMG that velvet coat!!! I have a 1940's velvet cape like coat I got a t a flea market...unfortunately in so cal it's rarely cold enough to wear it. I've picked up a few vintage coats over time, and L Magnun that has to be 1940's or 50's. When I researched the company I found out it was a store mentioned in my all time favorite Hitchcock flick...utter destiny lol. When I was skinnier and actually wore suits for work I always made sure they had some kind of vintage detailing or cut to them. I so love watching all of your vids, sooo inspiring.

What alternative universe I must live in. Those prices are amazing! It is nearly impossible for me to find a vintage 30’ or 40’ dress on Etsy for less than $150! Vintage fashion is in such high demand the prices are bordering those of luxury items!

I feel the same way about vintage that doesn’t come with a story! It means so much more when you have the history behind it, and I don’t think it’s creepy at all. And that brown suit is STUNNING✨

Yeah! Like I have a pair of men's pants from the 50's, and on the inside it still has the name "Gabriel" written in it. I found it sooo fascinating. Little did he know a girl in he 2000's would be wearing his trousers one day hahaha

What kind of undergarments do you recommend wearing with vintage clothing? A lot of the pieces are so structured and you always look amazing in them! I'm sure natural figure has something to do with it, but are there any tips/tricks you have? Maybe a potential video idea?

I honestly don't wear anything special haha! I'm really picky when it comes to that stuff, as far as comfort. Sometimes if I'm wearing a pencil skirt I'll wear spanx or shapewear just to tuck in the loose bits 😂, but other than that just modern bra/underwear and sometimes a slip!

Well that's just awesome then! Comfort is for sure key, but I couldn't look even half as awesome as you do in that maroon pencil dress. I think i'd have to wear spanx, a corset, a fork lift and a crane to put everything in its place 😂

I realize that you probably won't even nitice this comment, but I have been watching your older videos recently and spotted this vintage haul. I believe that maroon dress with white accents is actually authentic 40's dress. Atleast the buttons are definitely popular 40's style and so is the cut. In 70's they had more elastic waists than fitted. So I would say it was awesome find.

I’m so glad I’m not the only one who wants to know the stories behind vintage clothing/items I buy. I have this beautiful vintage coat that every time I put it on I wonder what the original owner was like. Where she lived, what she looked like, etc.
