Mind blown! If someone had taught me taught this 40 years ago, I wouldn't be stuck in a goddamn cubicle now!

I'm in the same boat Tom. I was given piano lessons for two years back in the early 60's. I stopped working at it because I wasn't being taught anything that interested me. I wanted Chubby Checker and got classical training. Too young and unmotivated to realize I should have just done it on my own. Someone said "never to late" in these comments. Oh Yeah - picked up stringed instruments late in life and couldn't be happier about that decision. (or the choice to start watching these videos - stuff this good wasn't available back in the day, you had to get lucky and run into someone as good as these guys that would be willing to help)

EXCELLENT explanation. I have been playing blues/metal/rock forever and have only recently been dabbling in the major scale.
This is the best and clearest explanation of pentatonic scales I’ve ever heard.

I don't know if you'll see this but 15+ years of playing and I've ALWAYS avoided the major pentatonic, avoided the relative minor thing out of fear! this makes SO much sense now! I can't thank you guys enough for this lesson. I've been at it all day today and can already hear a complete difference! thank you!!! THANK YOUUU!!!

I've been looking for a video like this for hours thanks! Finally something that makes sense. Other videos say they are intro but then throw in 5 positions of just one scale and barely explain it. I was getting so confused why these positions were not consistent this makes total sense now especially with what you said about the pinky
Awesome video.. . great sense of humor too.... keep keeping it lite brothers
