Taken them MONTHS and literally murdering their own game to realize and fix something 90% of people knew would be a MAJOR ISSUE the very moment it was announced. Bravo T10. While I agree with this change heavily; I can't even come close to giving them any props for doing it because honestly it's just them finally deciding to clean up that giant shit they took on the carpet and let sit there the whole time the games been out to this point :/

I am one of them. i am a forza player. have around 1k hours on fh4m 1.5 on fh5, around 70 on fm. so obviously i thought i was gonna play it for a loooong time so just buying it on a sale would be better than spending on the gamepass. @@djstuc

Facts. We all said this prelaunch. And a lot of people defended it at the time as "vision", yeah no. Also embedding the need of some arbitrary conversion just reeks of stupid tacked-on complexity of currency and points systems.

This to me is a fantastic balance of the 2 systems and will actually drag me back to playing the game. You can pay credits to get a car up to say C class for an online lobby, but then while you're racing, you're still levelling up the car and earning more car points to use later down the line should you then decide to tweak that car for a B class lobby, which then makes all those upgrades essentially free. You also still have the freedom with the car points being credited back as you take upgrades off so you have the freedom to experiment without any financial punishment. I'd need to go back to FM7 to see the cost difference, but I think they have the Car Point price balance right. Slick tyres I'm sure where somewhere in the 10,000 to 15,000 credit range before?

I will start playing the game again when the update comes. I still can’t believe they released the game knowing we would have to grind EVERY car

Same here, I hated it but the game plays great the control etc is on point with the controller, I'm not the greatest player so I was forever having to drop the game level with the standard car then increase it after I tuned a car a bit

When is this update coming?

I did not mind the idea of it tbh. But the way they did it was terrible. The road to level 50 was way to long considering how many cars they want you to do, parts don't cost credits and I can't pick what to unlock. It was more of a grind than fun tbh after the 5th car. Even after the level 25 cap on parts. But the fact that the parts I wanted were 100 laps away was the biggest killer when you're doing 5 races in that car before you buy a new one for a different event. But this change and the Nurburgring might finally get me back again.

Not enough they need to remove fomo from career mode as well, maybe then its starting to at least become decent, but issues with car models and sounds cant go unanswered

The timed events, do them all, which is typically about 35 - 40 races, you get 2 cars. Yes seriously it is that many races for 2 cars. Don't do them and you can't get the cars until they can be bothered to bring them back again. Same with the spotlight cars in the dealership, if don't buy them when they're on sale you can never get them until they decide to bring them back again in god knows how long. While I like the changes mentioned in the video, it's just one of an absolutely massive list of issues this game has and this change won't even come close to making the game meh, never mind good.@@KingZedusPrime2009TyrentKaiju

@@ironbru1986 huh? I've never seen this. The timed events I've seen are just discounted cars that are in the game and you can buy any time, and the cars you can earn are the same way. And usually those timed events you get access to each Championship once a week and each championship is only like 5 races, so if you just do them when they unlock it's barely anything at all.

Every single spotlight car for me is no longer available to buy once it's sale price has ended, the cars are just gone if I don't buy them. I would hardly call 35 - 40 races for 2 cars barely anything at all either. The game has less than 10% of the events of Forza Motorsport 4, a games that is 12 and a half years old and so much better than this game it's embarrassing. Forza Motorsport 4 (not including DLC cars) has about twice as many events as it does cars and that game (again without DLC cars) has over 500 cars just like this game does. This game has less than 20% of the events as it does cars. There really isn't any excuse from making them time limited events, all they are (failing) to do is to artificially inflate the player retention BS that so many companies are going for and ruining there games by doing it. You know what would actually keep player retention? Actually focusing on making a good game in the first place instead all the FOMO, artificially creating player retention BS that is ruining so many games. Would be nice if they had double car xp weekends and stuff like that. They were excited about the car xp system but they didn't really have any fun in the game with it. Needs some life in that aspect for car xp as well

2Xp would be pretty great. While these changes are an absolute 1000% improvement across the board in every way; it still will do nothing to alleviate the fact that next to no one is getting cars to lvl 50. The time commitment is simply too vast in a game with this many cars. RPG's can afford to do this because you're likely to have a much smaller sample size down to possibly even only a single character. This simply doesn't work for a car game with the variety and structure of Forza. It works in older NFS games because you usually just built a car from the ground up and beat the game with it. Forza IS NOT THAT. lol

This is a major W for the players, this change was needed before day 1. The game still has a ton of problems but this is a huge move in the right direction! Especially for tuners/painters who just want to upgrade

It would be nice once a car gets to level 50 you could earn general car points that could be used on any car.

I honestly have been thinking about trying Motorsports again for weeks now. The thing that I dislike the most is a mix between the car leveling system as well as the "locked in" aspect of races. Whenever you choose a car, you cannot switch, which I understand is an intended feature. The problem is that I want to be able to go from using one car for let's say 3/6 races and then switch, or even switch for each race dependent on the track! Like similar to how FH5 series races work when playing solo.

This won't fix the main issue I have with the car progression system: race tire compound is still too expensive

Definitely a very good change but one that people were yelling since Day 1. Hopefully they've now massively revaluated their approach to the game as a whole and we see some more big changes coming in.

I think they probably had started working on an overhaul right away. But these things take time and they had other issues such as the wonky penalty system that probably took priority. But who knows I guess

The thing i find funny is that this whole game is focused on building your car and its the one game in the series that you cant build cars the way you want to

I did like the leveling system but it's true that it could've been done in a way that you chose which component you want to unlock rather than unlocking things at certain level. You unlock quicker if you drive cleanly so that incentivises clean racing, which is great for MP where lot of folks would ram. But hopefully new penalty systems and dsq will prevent that and teach people regardless. pretty happy with the update, works for all

Certainly it is desirable to have the option to upgrade straight from the first race. It's really exhausting to wait for hours to improve the vehicle you want. However, there is something challenging about it that you have to progress while playing and not everything is too easy

Great step forward! Hopefully the CXP of a car isn't tied to the specific car. Eg I level up a Nissan Silvia S15 and buy another one and have to level that one up too (by driving it again or spending credits again)

I would have been happy with car xp if car points weren’t a thing. Two “currency” systems involved with purchasing upgrades is one too many. I might actually buy the game instead of having game pass because of these changes, this is super huge and great news

I am happy they aren’t removing the car leveling system altogether. That gamification of the cars really did give me motivation to actually stick with a car instead of bouncing around from car to car. For me personally it made each car feel like it was worth something, I wish that each car had a higher level cap so that I could actually get an idea of how much I use certain cars. All in all it was a fun idea, it was just botched through the unlocking of parts in a linear fashion. So this update is great, keeping the best of both worlds.

I like this fix. Sounds like cost to filly upgrade is about in line with other Motorsport and Horizon games. And by still keeping the original system, it doesn't negate all the time players put in to leveling up cars already, because if they fully reverted to the normal credits-for-upgrade system, then all that time players put in would have been completely wasted.

As someone who had no issues with the car leveling system, this seems like a nice balance between those who disliked it and those who liked it. Hopefully, this will bring some more players back. Proud to be one of those in the 3.3% who have leveled up fifty or more cars (yes, I also have a full time job haha) but I will probably use a mix of game credits and the grinding to level up once the update hits.

Hope we will gain more money from the races, otherwise we'll still have to spend a lot of time playing the game to grind the money needed.

I like the Car XP idea, cause if you enter a racing season, you aren't gonna be switching out cars every couple races. I also feel that the car affinity system from Forza 4 should be brought back to give more money or car XP for the same manufacturer

This gets me closer to actually purchasing the game. With this and if I stop hearing about the game crashing all the time I'll probably buy it.

Great change. Won't be trying it since I'm probably missing a bunch of limited time vehicles at this point. I'm sure they'll come at launch in the next motorsport game in 6 years.

Definitely a change in the right direction, and, ok it's always easy to say after the fact, but it was so obvious. Why it was not like that from the start or at least after the beta with the influencers, which had already backlashed on that, or even after the first weeks from the community general feedback, pretty sure it was proposed in their trello board exactly like that. But let's give them the benefice of the doubt, it was their baby, they really believe on their XP bounding effect and wanted to really see its outcome on the long run... I still have issue accepting that mid March is not "too little too late"... come one guys, it's just adding a way to buy XP from our already implemented in game credit... But maybe i dont see the complexity of that new economy mechanism and how much they need to test it to make sure there won't be any possible exploits... One step at a time... I hope next ones would be... - Improving the non-featured/private multiplayer experience (possiility to add IA, openning the lobby). - Improving sanctions on the shameless ramers (shadow ban, safety rating way harder to level up than down) - Improving the IA at least in their first turns or first lap (brake checking while no one in front of them in straights, almost impossible to draft or bump draft) - Diversity of seasonal events, because only open Class C, B, A, S which doesn't really scope to anything, it's a bit stale. The featured ones is nicer but not sure it's enough. - The influx of new tracks... Sorry but it's obvious that at some points, they will add, Le Mans GP... Which I hope for but when is it going to be real new ones... Like Brands Hatch, Monza, maybe Mount Panorama, Road Atlanta, Interlagos, Magny-Cours, ...

This is a really positive change IMO, and hopefully a sign of things to come, If only they`d rip out the uninspired and generic Builder`s cup system in favor of actual career progression (with different event types, invitational and showcase events, etc) to actually make the game fun to invest time in singleplayer, that would be great...

Looks like a major step in the right direction for progression. I would love to start playing again if only I could launch the game. Despite its flaws I've enjoyed Motorsport, but ever since the December update I've been completely unable to open the game on gamepass PC lmao. Multiple reinstallations to no avail. It's insane, man.

So now you can either buy upgrades (total cost 125k) or you can work at it for 3 hours (I assume it is quite a few) to do it for "free". A good step but my favourite game, FM4, is much more generous and gives you free upgrades for an entire manufacturer after not a whole lot of levels/time with one of their cars. This allowed for so much wild customisation without (money) risk e.g. Covette C6 engine in a Chevy / Daewaoeaewoaeaoiaoeaoo Matiz

I'm racing in an online touring car race and I see some cars in the race have rating of 714 while my car seems to be locked at 694. Can my car be upgraded? I can adjust the current setup but the class rating of 694 stays the same. Any help would be appreciated.

Yeah it does seem a bit confusing but nothing to worry about, some cars have higher or lower performance index ratings, but thats a more generalized/rough performance estimate throughout the whole game and doesn't necessarily make them better or worse in the online touring car spec - all the cars are balanced already to be roughly on pace with eachother, so all you need to do is adjust the tune! (which doesn't affect PI)

When is The update dropping?

I'm one of the few people crazy enough to have more than 10 cars on level 50, and to be honest, any change that would boost the player numbers would be a good change.

Glad we can finally upgrade to each cars need. I might download the game again and see how it feels. Hopefully I don't get scammed with that classic Infinite spinning loading wheel that loses all my progression made

Although I am not one of the people who greatly dislike car leveling, the removal of the level gated locks are huge! Now I can get a race transmission at level 3 or 4, instead of level 7. But, seeing that it can be bought outright, I'll probably buy the transmission and grind the rest.

About to level out all the cars then because I have over 8 million credits from grinding cars to 50.

I'll probably boot up the game and give it a try when we get the Nordschleife however..... I was really unhappy with the AI when I was playing it post release. I'm sure they have some weird rubber banding going on, opponents not getting even remotely consistent times lap to lap, and also it feeling like they TRY to spread the first several places further away from the pack, not because they're actually faster, but because they're doing artificially MAKING them get to that place.... made the races feel really samey, unrealistic, and just frustrating. to me at least. I'm really not one for playing online and I really just want my opponents to be behaving like actual cars in a race would. if the ai is still being messed around with, I'll probably do one or two races and uninstall it again.

I think they should focus on stability. I have RTX 3070 and the game has multiple crashes frame rate drops on each race i play. When these kind of problems are resolved i will return.

It took me about 10 minutes with the game to see the HUGE flaw in the CXP system. BoP for any group racing was locked behind 3 hours of pointless grind for every single car in a series and testing would require every individual to also partake in the grind. Meaning a series with just 5 builds requires 15 hours of unnecessary driving before you can start testing BoP for every person involved. Knowing T10 partnered with TORA in the past, I could not comprehend how the studio managed to not recognize the cooling effect the system would have on a not insignificant portion of the most dedicated players. It’s arguably the most myopic decision I’ve ever seen from this developer. Then they tried to downplay the inevitable negative reaction, further poking the hornet nest.

1 more thing they need to add is car xp. I use this to lower the cost say in Lamborghini. You have to upgrade 5 cars to get 25%. Mind you it takes 3 hours for 1 car it would take me 15 hours to get 5 cars max level. They need 2x the car points

I leveled up the MR2 to 50. bought another one and oh wow the level system is car specific. I've got four or five other cars at 33. and I was done. ridiculous system. hate it. I'm not real sure this will bring me back.

We don't just have games that are broken at release but also games that are designed wrong at release

i'll probably only buy cp for cars i intend to take online. The system works great for singleplayer, and now that you can just upgrade any part, I can't wait to jump back into the game when update 6 releases

I think it’s a good change, I could have lived without the conversion from credits to points TBH. It’s great one can install the best upgrades immediately, and later get more points by using the car and getting more acquainted with it.

I’d rather learn the car through racing and then upgrading the car to see what differs honestly these changes don’t effect me but it’s good to see how they are at least offering a way to upgrade the car in a different style

Makes you wonder, how did they test the game? This would have been pointed out there and then. Now, it is quite unclear why they even left the car points in the game. Just make car parts ~5x more expensive than the car point equivelant, convert 'car leveling' into credit gains, then you have one currency and people can forget this travesty ever happened.

Unlocking all parts is a win but buying car points feels dumb to me defates the purpose of car leveling. At least the option is there i wont be using it.

I like this change and wish it was this way since the game was launched.

I'll give it another shot. My favorite part of forza was building and tuning and not having freedom to do so was a game killer for me. Wasn't worth playing. The pretty common game crashes also didn't help. Seems like every game I play any more is released and then isn't worth playing until it gets a years worth of "updates"

Good change. Im enjoying the online racing in this game. Can be really close and intense. All the easy things that they've messed up makes it so frustrating. Cost them so many players, between the bugs and the drip feeding content, I really hope it's lesson learned for the future at ms as a whole. Oh and the AI needs so much work 🤣 not played much of the single player, tried the featured event, even on hardest difficulty these guys are brake checking, being slow for no reason, random levels of aggression and pace. Strange stuff. Lol.

Now might consider buying it for 30 bucks or less on sale on PC, but it probably wont pull me away from Assetto Corsa or AMS 2. Not having VR is a massive drawback for me.

I haven't stopped playing the game, but I was one of those evil AFKers (I don't need to now because I have all the cars I want maxed). I love building, testing, and decorating cars, so since I paid $100 for this game, I decided I'd play it any way I like. This change will make it much easier and more "legal" though.

At last. A sensible approach to the game. Driving and playing shouldn’t be a grind, it should be fun and purposeful rather than boring- agreed great that turn ten are listening but I still don’t understand why they chose to release the game with such a lack of knowing what there audience expected.

I jumped in post update, and I uninstalled and went back to horizon. I love motorsport and the track aspect, but the car bond isn't there. It feels like a huge grind, however I am currently reinstalling now that I know I can spend my credits on cp. Might be enough to save it. The best part of forza is feeling like an artist with a blank canvas in every car.

I am a bit happy now with progress so far. I like the change with the Car XP Progression. But it still feels like a grind to get Credits in the game.

Some will still complain about the car points costing credits. Me I’ll just be glad to finally have something to do with the millions of credits I have but never use lol. In my opinion tho upgrading should just cost credits forget the car points all together it’s a stupid system that’s the whole point of the PI anyways. A betting system would be cool too, just before a race you can put down some credits on your favorite to win or something. Also they really need to enable damage at a reduced rate at least for all online multiplayer maybe then people would stop being stupid going full speed into corners and expecting other cars to stop their momentum 🤦🏻‍♂️. Some improvements to the career would be nice too like maybe give use different options for race length cause most of the series are like 3-5 laps on the short tracks. There should be an option for short or full track and longer races maybe then people would actually play it, personally I haven’t touched single player since the game released cause it’s weirdly short.

I’d still rather they just give credit values to all car upgrades and do away with xp completely.

I only played one month through a free month of Game Pass. The car grinding XP system made me not buy the game so far. The driving and everything was good but I just want to quickly build a car, do a few races and then build something else. The fact I had to constantly drive the same car for upgrades was a big let down for me, enough to not buy the game. This change means I'm now interested in buying the game again.

When are we gonna get stats and leaderboards? It’s terribly comical to not have two basic features in the game.

I grinded one car to lvl 50 and in the end I didn't even end up liking the feel of the car after unlocking the upgrades and the GRIND to get the lvl's was BORING AS HELL and all for a car that I wasn't ever going to drive again and that was made not want to play, and I went back to Playing Forza 7 and Assetto Corsa

Yeah I quit after a couple of weeks with the weak single player, no splitscreen and the car levels This could change soon:D

have the performance been improved for mid to low end PCs? and have the progression reset/stuck been fixed yet? those are my two issues with the game. removing the xp grind is pointless if i can't advances the game or even have playable framerates. i get 100+ FPS on FH5 during race but gets below 20 FPS on FM.

Car XP is fine it’s the whole locking upgrades behind it that ruined it. Car XP should be like a passive skill tree that rewards you with unique stuff like money, driver XP, unique cosmetics and they could even put unique cars as LVL 50 rewards. For example maybe the you can only get the Ferrari F50 is you get a F40 to level 50 and this is where if we also had a auction house players would have the option to farm car xp and sell the unique cars on the auction house.

Now can we fix the asinine car prices?

Still doesn't excuse Turn 10 coming up with such a broken system to begin with, but at least they can see how much people hated it, and stopped playing the game because of the grind. I am looking forward to the new system (that should have been the base system from the get go) as i really enjoy the driving in this game, after the major disappointment that was FM7.

Massive W alongside Nordschliefe coming soon + performance optimization especially CPU usage is being improved. The game is great, the driving is superb, but man grinding the levels was boring as fuck lol am glad I can just use my credits and be set for a specific "Builders' Cup". Gonna buy the game now since it costs 43,63€ where I live lol

think i might actually jump in. moment i heard about the car progression crap, i decided i wasn't going to support this title. which sucked, considering i've played almost every other forza game. but this was just too much for me. now that it's getting dialed back, i think i can finally be okay with grabbing the game

Look I don't mind the system nor grind, does it need to be tweak yeah. Is it perfect hell no. I was more concern about games crashes and when you play your progress wouldn't save. I would be more mad if I grinded for hours and nothing was save. But whatever it seem like everyone got what the wanted, and now people may come back to a game that still broken.

This is great news, but I'm still going to wait until there's more single player content in the game before I buy it. Also, the cynic in me is very worried that they've changed the XP system so they can add microtransactions to let us buy in-game credits for real money...
