I've been using fountain pens for almost 60 years. Have learned a bit. As an engineer I focus on understanding how things work. And I am generally lucky. A tray of broken pens were the unlucky ones, but I learned from each one.
Btw - C1 can be cartridge/converter as well - I have 2 of them and both came with converters. I was pleasantly surprised to see Moonman doing a bulk filler pen. I believe this is currently the cheaper bulk filler. Mine is still on the way... 😑

You are correct. I just never used the converter. Holds about 5ml of ink when ED.

Will you be doing a review of the S7? Does it have a shut off valve? Does it carry a #6 nib?
@chrisrap52

No shut off valve. Review eventually.
Does the glitter/shimmer material in the ink clog the feed or nib?
@chrisrap52
Жыл бұрын
No. I've used many. Had in pens for months/years. Yes it requires a little more cleaning but I love the glitter.
Sorry another question. I'm new to this brand... Do they fit jowo or bock nib units (or at least jowo/bock nibs) if someone wanted to swap?
@chrisrap52
Жыл бұрын
Yes, uses No. 6 size.
The nib was #6, is your feed mark #2 on it ? Thanks
@chrisrap52

Nib #6, mark on feed not relevant.
I knew @chrisrap52 would do me a solid and tell me what the ink capacity of this thing is when everybody else just describes it as "holds a lot of ink". Thank you! I'll wait for them to make something that can hold 6ml of ink.

Great vid! I would have never found this pen on my own. Any chance you have a section diameter on it? I love thicker sections! Thanks again for a great vid.

With most of my videos & this one, I show the section dimensions. kzread.info/dash/bejne/f5t407J8fZyXiaw.html

Are there burping problems? Considering this pen, but cant find info how it is for longer drawing and writing. Tnx.
@chrisrap52
Жыл бұрын
I have not had any burping. Any pen can burp, ED's a little more. Just need to practice proper care, Nib up until writing. Avoid large temperature changes. If you like the pen, want a large ink supply, give it a try. With shut off valve burping is avoided when not writing.

@@chrisrap52 Thanks for info. Considering to buy soon bigger pen and this is my favorite so far.
I do wish they put the model number on the pen, especially as they laser engraved the band, so should have been easy enough.

Hi Thanks for the great video Do you know if you can screw in a bock 250 (number 6) nib unit (threading in the whole unit not just the nib) Into this pen?

Cannot screw in a Bock. Can swap nib.

Thanks a lot..I wanted to order a housing from fnf for my beloved pilot fa nib n10 but sadly they only have adapter for bock or Jowo If you have any idea how can I use this nib in this pen it will be great

Is the nib unit the same as the Moonman P136?
@Seefood73

All moonman/majohn #6 units are the same in my experience, thus interchangeable.

I was wondering that too. If I get one of these I wanted to have some spare nib collars for different nibs and a backup in case one breaks.
Design is nice for a cheaper pen.
10:55 this is Wancai 丸彩 1, in acrylic. But new color in 2023. All Wancai 2 are molding, half price of Wancai 1. Majohn is confusing, plus the irresponsible oversea sells having no clue what they are selling.

Yes, they are resellers and may not accurately describe pen.
Excellent review, as usual. The pen is not for me, though.
8:55 I guess my mother forgot to invite the Malevolent Fairy to my christening, so I was cursed with every fountain pen randomly burping at my touch. Obviously you Chris, was on the contrary blessed from ever experiencing that. Did your mother immerse you, as a baby, in a cauldron of magic ink, holding you by your heel?😄
@chrisrap52

I avoid the events that can lead to burping. Keep pen full. Never uncap nib down. Store pen nib up. If pen cold, allow it to reach room temp before writing. Burps are usually caused by air inside pen pushing ink out.

@@chrisrap52 I guess my curse is that I want to use as much of the pens capacity as possible, before refilling, and also impatiently moving around with a pen in my pcket between different temperatures. Maybe the C4 is the pen for me!?
Aren’t mahjohn and Moonman the same brand? They show up if I search for Moonman pens so I feel you deserve a pass. 😊

Thanks. The name has officially changed to Majohn. But pens are sold under both names. Thanks for the support.
Not sure how functional that short clip is. Also it seems a bit disproportional to the length of the pen. Al least it can serve as a roll stop.
