I wonder if Maison Margiela uses more naturals than aroma chemicals in their formulations. I only have Music Festival but I love how it opens with a little sweetness.

That was certainly me as I flew from London to Rome en route to Florence for #pittifragranze on the 12th. Why didn't you stop me and say hi? BTW I was shopping for perfumes obviously that is the only reason I go to the Duty Free but yes please say hi in the future! :)

I just got a sample of Under the Stars from Notino and I like it. It's well done. It's a very light leather fragrance. Very balanced, harmonious, nothing strident. The oudh is not animalic, but woody. The scent is airy and not dense in any sense. It's pleasant but not very distinctive. 100% Unisex

It'a a well done leather, oud fragrance. Nothing revolutionary, but it gets the job done.

Sounds like a pleasant fragrance that is a little more daring from the norm. Edt concentrate sounds like it needs edp to make it a little more pleasing to the fans

The only Maison Margiela fragrance I really like but I haven’t tried a ton from the house is By The Fireplace. This sounded promising at first, but i definitely like more strong, long lasting, projecting scents which I trust your opinion that this is not. I still would like to sample it and On A Date…and of course the new Kayali

Yea the chesnut threw me for a loop but i came around to it. It probably didnt help that it was 90+ in my apartment and 100+ outside when i tried it. But now that i have ac back its pretty great

I've seen this at Sephora already and smelled it. Can't be a Harrods exclusive.

I'm definitely not new (at all) to fragrance, or even to ouds, but I do prefer the softer variety (slightly animalic doesn't bother me) versus sledgehammer, so I'm adding this to the list to check out. Thanks, Sebastian!

I suppose my issue is that when I want to wear and oud/leather scent, I want it to be big and loud. Chopard Cedar Malaki was an Harrod’s exlcusive beginning of 2023 and was stateside within a couple of months.

Now this one initially had potential. It starts off very nice amd reminded me of Falcon Leather by Matiere Premiere but a weaker version. Unfortunately it isn't intense and sadly falls flat very quickly. However a nice easy wear and even haters of oud can enjoy this one.

My top favourites are Autumne vibes and By the fireplace❤

Martin Margiela fragrances have been hit or miss for me. In particular, Jazz Club goes bitter and foul on me, smells good on others though. Lune Feline is everything I wanted By the Fireplace to be, the extrait was the “and more.”

Jazz Club is overly sweet to my nose. It's okay, but other things blow it out of the water.

I was interested in this one but am a bit disappointed that it's so light. Seems to be the norm for Maison Margiela as everything I've tried from them has been too fleeting for me. They smell great, but just don't perform at the level I prefer.

This perfume bring me the image of a bonfire party under the stars in the night, a bit cold, wearing a leather jacket. Smoky, leathery, woodsy, plus beer and drinks made the smell a bit dirty..

It's a Harrod's exclusive? But I found it on Notino here in Europe...hmmm

I love this house but their perfumes don’t last on my skin. I wish they did an edp or parfum

They really need to stop with these releases and just give us better concentrations like the ones they sadly discontinued.

To me it is just like an amber jazzclub, very soft and smooth, very little leather and no oriental oud. But I like it. A super cheap nice fragrance.

I do like many of the fragrances from this house! I loveeeee coffee break n jazz club, autumn leaves!! I didn't care for the lasted one date something to much floral

could you do a comparison between “under the stars” and Dior’s “Oud Rosewood”? They seem very similar to me. It’s almost like “under the stars” is a dupe of “Oud Rosewood”. What are your thoughts?

I agree they do have similarities. I think I prefer the Dior more than three Maison Margiela.

But honestly, they are both boring I never really cared for Dior Oud Rosewood but if I have to decide between those two it’s the Dior for sure.

I tried this one from a sample, and wow does it smell horrible on my skin. Burned rubber, stale tobacco smell.

Looks like Nordstrom is carrying it in the States.

Maison Margiela fragrances are just not strong enough for me. Maybe I have an advanced nose now. My SOTD is OUD IMPERIAL by Perris Monte Carlo! 🤣💙💙

I’ve gone through two bottles of PMC Oud imperial 😆

Been collecting fragrances for almost a decade and still can’t get behind oud. This sounds awesome other than the oud. 50/50 on this one.

@@i-am-mj oud for greatness isn’t bad. Just way back I smelled a few with oud and it stayed with me in a bad way. Creeds royal oud is the only one that’s not that bad. So far.

For some reason I just can’t get behind maison margiela fragrances. Too light and weak. Two words that’s shouldn’t go together Oud and overspray 😂😂😂. Once I heard that I knew this was another weak one from MM

Entire line is just not that good at all. Very mediocre fragrances.
