Grand Soir is the star of the show in the MFK lineup IMO. It’s an incredible fragrance. PS wish you guys would start doing videos on this channel again!!

This absolutely just brightened my day. I subscribed to your watch-related TY in Late October 2018 with zero knowledge and a $12 dollar quartz watch on my wrist. I tried every fragrance from MFK till date and this is my clear favourite.

Just smelled this one today and it's amazing! Maybe your nose is a little more sophisticated than mine, because I loved this on first smell. Definitely one on my short list.

@@andremarable well…I’ve heard it smells divine on men but I have yet to experience that but it is a Unisex fragrance. Definitely a winter fragrance though. Check it out and see if your body chemistry agrees😍

this is best for layering 😮 it’s the reason I bought it in the first place 😅 however, I enjoy the fragrance on its own as well, simple and beautiful

Agree with Markhor about Rouge 540... Seriously do not get the hype on that one... But GRAND SOIR... It's the ONLY mfk fragrance that i would splurge on... It's GORGEOUS... I'm surprised there's nothing animalic listed in the notes as I always get a civet vibe from this one... LOVE

Best smelling thing I've ever smelled.

A warm, smoky and refined Amber. Reddish resin from conifers, its name derived from the Greek "Ambriosos" means immortal, and this perfume in 50 years will not have taken a wrinkle. I was afraid that it was sweet, but it is not the case, if not by the black and natural pod of its Vanilla. For the non-dominant Tonka is positioned in the background and with restraint ... and THAT, my friends, is very good. By imposing this one as the dominant note in all Orientals this past decade, the flame between it and me ended up being extinguished. I became disgusted with it, going from "I love it, it's one of my favorite notes" to "Again? they don't have anything else on hand or something" because it dominates and tyrannizes the other notes. At the time when Pierre Hermé claimed that he hated Tonka, I was thinking "How is that possible?" now I understand better. Anyway, here it only serves as a support and so much the better, just like Cistus. A creamy, dimensional scent that evolves slowly. I prefer it after 1 hour. It reminds me a bit of Dior "Vanilla Diorama" as it is a spicy ballet of Cardamom, Patchouli and African Cinnamon (from Ceylon or Madagascar). In conclusion, I initially thought it was boring and trite... After an hour of evolution, I completely change my mind. 7,5/10

I assume you're not trying the first batch of GS. In my opinion based on the first batch bottle. The tonka is really loud, unlike the shy kitten purr of current production. Heck it only last 4 hours, while the first batch last overnight and easily detectable on wrist by nose.

I tried smelling Baccarat Rouge. Both versions. I couldn’t smell it. As in I could not detect what it smelled like. Maybe soft cotton candy. Was so weird.

Probably the most common "nose-blind" fragrance I've heard of. I also struggle to smell the full profile of Baccarat Rouge

​@@markhor1988 I'm 27 and I recently switched to using Dior Homme Intense as my daily driver and it's definitely now my favorite scent. More mature than the Versace Eros I (and everyone else) wore in college If I'm just looking for compliments, though, Club de Nuit Intense Man Limited Edition is still definitely my go-to. I don't personally like it that much, but damn if people don't go crazy over it

It sucks that the only stores I can go to to smell fragrances in person before buying is limited.. if macy’s doesn’t have it and Sephora/ulta not keeping a good collection outside of a few designers lol just gotta figure out notes when online buying and what to look for knowing what I like and don’t and hope for the best

Love this fragrance but a bit annoyed. Got a sample from someone, loved it, got a full bottle and I swear the sample is stronger. I mean they must’ve had the sample in their drawer for a while? Do they reformulate these that often? Anyone know how I can get my hands on an earlier bottle? Side by side the sample is heavier vanilla, Resinous, lasts all day, the bottle(authentic!) smells more lotion-ish right away.

I think Grand Soir is a warm, elegant scent that is mostly suited to the late fall and winter. For me it is a more sophisticated mature scent for someone that dresses in cashmere and fine fabrics -this is not a casual fragrance by any means. It is not a young informal scent. This is for someone who dines in fine restaurants and travels.

Smells like one of my grandmother's french perfumes from the 70's. It comes on VERY strong and the dry down is still very intense on my skin. For me, it's too masculine.

Bought some, and I have to admit I'm not a fan of the vanilla, cigar smell type men's fragrance. If you're in your 60s and love watching the Godfather this scent may be for you.

Very Linear, nothing special, wasn't impressed at all with it. Not a Niche fragrance for me. Save your money. There are tons of much better Amber/Vanilla fragrances out there. Don't see the hype or any kind or sort of magic in this
