Great information man. This is what I needed. My barrel is 14mm positive so when I turn the die do I go clockwise on the thread?

Ok so I have a question. I have a threaded barrel and I live in a state that it needs to be pinned or welded so I can’t access them. My idea to save money and avoid going to a gun smith was to just file off the threads and then use some sort of locktite or sealant to put a thread cap on the end. My main question is if I sand down the threads will that affect my barrel or anything? I don’t want to damage anything but I don’t need the threads basically.

Is this for a real firearm or a replica for airsoft? What state do you live in?

How much would it cost for me to do this to my gun? My barrel has been stripped due to the orange tip removal, and was wondering what the best way to go about it would be because I don’t have the necessary tools. Thank you

Vice, lower receiver block , tap and die set. I bought couple thread protectors for after until I get another muzzle device. I've acquired all these tools over time but for a decent tap and die set its about $40 or u can just get the specific tap and die for like $15-20

when you fix the threads for the first time then Did you have to use a lot of force or Did it go as easily when it appears in the video?

There is some resistance when you start to rethread since the threading is damaged but if you encounter a lot of resistance unwind it, clean out the shavings and continue the process

@@Tactical_chicano thanks for the reply. i just wonder bc in my silencer reads 14x1.25 threads and when i tried to fix the threads with the righ size tool it felt really tight even though there is something to fix in the middle of the threads?

what if the threads broke off as a whole (mine broke off inside of the flash hider, which was actually pinned and welded it seems). should i replace the outer barrel or epoxy the threads/flashhider back on?

I would buy a new barrel, the time and hassle is not worth it. Barrels are cheap depending on the model gun you have

@Deluxe Zesty Scudbutter Surprise remove the barrel and check the shape where it looks in. Most Airsoft guns have the same type unless manufacturer made it proprietary i.e KWA or some GnG guns

So question, i bought a cyma ak alfa and the outer barrel came without threads. would a die work to make its own threads or is it only used to repair threads?

Die can be used to create new threads but you'll need a different tool in order to create the correct dimeter for the die to fit in.
