Great video! I found you by accident while I was multitasking tonight. I guess my response is late so I don't know if you'll ever see this message but one thing you can do when to reduce shrinkage is put some scrunchies maybe about 6 in your hair make some small little ponytails strategically placed throughout your hair & maybe mist your roots lightly at night before you put your bonnet on at night it may prevent your hair from drying out.

I'm about to go on a 10 day cruise soon and this video HELPED me out!! I was lowkey freaking out about what I should do with my natural hair as this would be my first time doing a vacation with natural hair! I'm so excited to rock my twist out on this vacay💛

I love that you have an effortless approach to your hair. Each day came out so beautiful and more importantly you were confident.

I love this so much. I’m tired of doing protective styles on vacation. I’m traveling soon and I’ll be doing similar things. I just need to find some travel sized bottles because I always just do a carry-on and pack light.

I'm going to Puerto Rico this week and I plan to do the same thing. Start with the twist out then wash and go if I need to. This video was right on time!

haha! Do what's best for you my love! But know that it *is* possible to travel with your natural hair out. It'll take a few more minutes each day, but it's possible to make it work. Have so much fun on vacation!

Yes these hairstyles were bomb! Love it. If you ever want to do a quick protective hairstyles 1-2hrs tops, try twists with extensions if you want length. I followed youtube tutorials. I section my hair braid it a little less than half way, purchased cheap hair (water wave lulutress or some type of waterwave hair), use a crochet hook to get one piece of the hair through the top of the braid closer to root of hair, then braid it together and twist the rest of the way. Use gel on the roots to make it look neater. It's easier than I thought and cheap!! Only used 2 packs of hair $12 total, around 30-35 braids, medium sized.

Next month I'm going to Las Vegas for 3 days with my husband and I normally always have my hair in some type of protective style while on vacation. I do have type 4C hair and I am the debating if I should just wear my own hair or protective style. I definitely don't want to take too much time styling my hair and I also don't want to look crazy due to weather (it's supposed to be about 70 degrees) or if we go out to a bar or club and I sweat. It's so hard to know. Hmmmmm. Anyways I will say thank you so much for doing this video your hair is gorgeous and you look beautiful.

Thanks so much! And I definitely understand. Vegas is a toss up, sometimes its dry heat but other times it's humid. Also, it's a quick trip. I say go with what you feel comfortable with, and if you do your hair out stick to what you know. Don't use that as a time to experiment hahaha--that way you'll be most satisfied. Have fun!!

I love that you did this! people seem to think you have to do a protective style for a vacation. My most recent vacay was to Miami and I wore my natural hair and it was super easy I usually band my hair before going to bed and that prevents matting. I don't really get that much crease from the bands and when I do I just use my afro pick to fluff it out.

Thank you for taking is through your journey but I was looking for hints/ideas for when I go on vacation. I'm the type that goes swimming everyday so I was really hoping you showed more of "how to do your hair after you've gone swimming". You're more of a land lover(no offense). While on vacay I have to wash my hair everyday day because I'm always in the water, whether it's the pool or the beach.

I really appreciate this feedback, thank you for being honest! I actually usually go in the water and dunk my head more often but at the time we went the water was pretty cold lol! I have another beach vacation coming up soon so I'll keep this in mind when I do a video documenting my hair on that trip!

My usual routine is the Glossier Milky Jelly cleanser, Dr. Roebuck's "Perky" Collagen Boosting Serum, Glossier under eye cream, and then the Dr. Barbara Sterm facial cream or the Ziaja Goat's Milk cream! Makeup wise, I usually am wearing the Mac Studio Fix Fluid foundation, NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer, Glossier Cloud Paint Blush and Glossier lash slick mascara!
