...Im African American and grew up in Crown Heights Brooklyn years and years ago... Black people and Jewish people didn't really associate much back then but my mom used to buy our dresses from a cute little boutique on Kingston Avenue, and my mom got friendly with the Jewish store owner. .You guys have awesome content!! 😊....I often wondered about Jewish culture and traditions...Your video kinda popped up in my search

I love your content so much. I found out last year that I'm Jewish via my mother's mother's (etc) side. I can't live as you do due to my life's path and my unique journey, but I can still learn the traditions and beliefs. I'll never be "really Jewish" since I don't have the lens of one raised within the community, but I am Jewish enough for me. If that makes sense? Your channel is doing so much to fill in the spaces and gives me a perspective beyond the Reform community I've become a part. I love the Reform community and it's where I need to be, but I am so thankful that your family is open to showing us your life. Thank you!

So cool.. I knew I was a jew..only allowed to be raised as 1.. then I found out I was Ashkenazi..from central Ukraine.. I was adopted and supposedly to be raised Jewish! My grandmother came and escaped Hitler at 3 yrs old.. I'm so happy that you are understanding your roots and just being a cool person!I became a Jewish Atheist cuz of stuff..but I love reading how folks embrace this beautiful..persecuted religion.. we have always had the right for everything I don't even understand why but that's how it is! You have a lovely day..and life!

I grew up in the south with no real understanding of Judaism till I moved to the North East. Now I live in PA and will say the culture has been the most kind and opening. I love going to the kosher grocery stores because I learn so much about the culture, I also have some dietary needs that are so much better ever since I learned about being Kosher. I just love that even though it is not my belief I have never felt put down or forced to believe one way or another. I have even drove school buses for Jewish private schools and the students are always so loving and kind.

do you all live in Australia? i live in central oregon in a small town, there are barely any jewish people at all, but my family is enjoying teaching others , but very little kosher, no judaica ...but ..we moved here from NYC to SF to here so weve collected along the way and we shop when visiting nyc...Also spent 3 weeks in Israel last September and really felt like it was such a good fit! LOved it there.... Question is the such thing at modern chassidic as there is modern orthodox? I REALLY miss the foods tho, no lox , no bagels , no herring, no deli, makes us appreciate our travels even more! thanks for you fabulous videos!

Raizel, I online shop two places you visited. Can you, when you have time, which may not be for months, lol, in the description, list the shops? I need a kosher candy shop because it is so difficult to find kosher candy without gelatine where I now live. I was aware Weinsteins is in NYC, but did not realise they’re at Crown Heights? (I think that’s where you are.) I love your channel so much.

She is referring to the time Orthodox Jews wait in between meat and milk. As proscribed by the rabbis.

@@zimrasawyer1881 and there are different customs within orthodox community for how long after eating dairy one can eat meat. Some just rinse their mouth and don’t wait while others wait half an hour. After eating hard cheese, one must wait six hours before eating meat. Hard cheese is cheese that has been aged long enough that it can not be eaten unless it is first grated. Generally, once it has aged for six months it becomes hard. Parmesan cheese is an example of hard cheese.

You had better know God. Man was not created in the image of the Father God. God is not a man, that He should lie, Nor a son of man, that He should repent. Has He said, and will He not do? Or has He spoken, and will He not make it good? -Numbers 29:13 Man was made in the image of God's only begotten son and His angels. They said “Let Us make man in Our image, according to Our likeness; let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, over the birds of the air, and over the cattle, over all the earth and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth.” -Genesis 1:6 They are called God. Elohim. The plural form of God. Jesus is God's only begotten son and through him all things were made by God.
