Also, you can battle Emma in the Looker Bureau after finishing the post-game quest, and she only used Malamar and Crobat.

Emma is here! i actually love her post game arc and her father and daughter dynamic between her and Looker.

How Emma said Mimi was her friend and crobat was her partner pokemon, I worry since it means Mimi isn't in a pokeball and like in Paulo Interlude, how in the past his dratini friend was stolen.....

Something tells me none of the others are aware of Malva being part of Team Flare. Surprised Lysandre didn't appear in this first part at all.

Weird that neither Serena or Calem are aware of this fact, *despite of being the very first thing Malva tells you when you first meet her at the Pokémon League* (and ellaborating further during the post-game)

@@DeepWeeb I suppose it's because - for some strange reason - it seems none of the protagonists (except Red, of course) has ever challenged the Elite Four in the Masters continuity.

It's probably just the Paulo Interludes aren't happening currently, and rather at some other point in the story, but I'd hope his appearance here is a Shadow Triad member somehow posing as him, kinda like Naruto-style transformation jutsu. It would just be cool to see them gathering intel for Ghetsis that way, like they'd be in the perfect position to keep tabs on Looker, learn about this new weapon, and also, as they'd be posing as Colress's bodyguard, be in the best position to put the traitor back into Ghetsis's clutches. We do know he was planning something for later down the line. I just wonder if they'd take that opportunity.

Uh oh.. seeing Emma really tear me up..🥲. Years after just being that of a Postgame NPC .. she finally got something that of growth in character.. DENA has started to become real service by bringing potential Character from Main Games..🙏🥲... The girl now can proudly announced herself as heir to Looker Kalos agency & a Detective.!!

I keep forgetting that Malva was considered a team flare member...but holy crap did she just threaten Looker?!

Why do I have the feeling that next month we will get SS Looker? Probably with SS Lysandre as well, with either Malva or Tierno and Trevor as Spotlight Scout.

Hold on, I think this might be a case of double agent. Malva is an elite four AND a team flare admin supposedly but she’s more like an EX Team Flare iirc. I believe she’s double crossing Team Flare

@@GoldRichness There’s not much in the games to imply that she left team Flare willingly. While she may have helped stop Xerosic’s Neo Flare, she seems to do so more out of a sense of honour (she seemed to not want Emma to suffer cause of Xerosic’s manipulation)… She said she wanted you to make Xerosic disappear, while still calling referring to (the disbanded) Team Flare as “we”; as in her loyalties would still lie with Team Flare That, and she hates the player and would be fine with Looker also disappearing Wth I didn’t expect Malva to be this complex of a character

@@GoldRichness She's in the Elite Four to advance Team Flare's cause. Team Flare wormed their way into a lot of key positions in Kalos society, the Pokemon Adventures manga gets more into detail about that. Of course, that manga ultimately revealed Malva was indeed planning on double crossing Lysandre...so that *she* could take over as boss of Team Flare and rule over Kalos.

So...I guess the timeline for 'Paulo interlude' is after all of the villian Arc (from Kanto to Galar, and maybe Paldea?), since Paulo is here and safe while in previous Paulo interlude, he is dealing with Team Plasma. Abit wondered Which pokemon that Calem is talking about.....

They do have history, as in XY he had to make a deal with her and it seemed they knew each other for some time.

The ones call themselves Team Flare with that Pokemon, I don't think it's a Team Flare Grunt. Machoke, Weezing, and Raticate? None of Team Flare's grunt has them in Kalos

Those are Kanto's pokemon, so yeah, probably Team Rocket who either want to take the weapon for themselves to exploit it's power, to use it as a threat to forcefully take over Pasio or because it's a case of evil vs oblivion (team flare wants to destroy Pasio using the said weapon and team rocket to take over Pasio, so they want to take the weapon for themselves so that team flare doesn't use it)

Malva was an EX Team flare iirc so to see her with them again I think is suspicious

Malva was always a Team Flare member, she's an ex-Team Flare member by the time you see her in X and Y because the player has defeated Team Flare by then.

She's only ex since the player defeated them, and she despises the player because of it. (She basically says the only reason she doesn't murder us in hellfire on the spot is because we were strong enough to see our beliefs thru, unlike them.)
