Main house renovation (ep2) - Insulating foundation
Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль
Got a little update on the supermom bedroom build. In this video i will be filling the stupid holes and insulating the new foundation section. However plans have changed somewhat, and the rooms will be put on hold for a bit while we finish off other rooms in the other side of the house.
Hope you enjoy and thanks for watching!

Amazed every week how you always have new content which means you had to do the actual work and then edit it all. You’re super human! Hope you’re doing good and don’t burn yourself out!

Every couple of years, a bunch of grown men get together on a large field to act out how they would react if they were injured, and they always over do it. Antspants content is at least 26.9 times better! :D

@@SideKickStudios But, but the filming and overacting while rolling and screaming like dying is part of the game!!! :D But really, they should start using video recording to catch those faking injuries and give them the red card. It's killing the reputation of the game.

@alaric_ Yeah, i know why they do it.They try to coax out a favourable throw-in or a penalty but in sporstmanship, i think this isn't competitiveness but cheating.
When building anything out of home made lumber make sure to remove all the bark from it to prevent this bug problem. I've seen carpenter ants eat out cabins because they used planks with bark on them for the structural planks inside the walls
100-150+ years from now your 4th and 5th generation will look back and be grateful for their great great great uncle for doing all this back breaking work (all by himself...for most part of it) and to have left them a piece of legacy behind that they can be proud of
Hey it’s another ants pants vid very cool 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻

If you have moisture leaking through the stone cement foundation you need to a) get your downspouts leading the water 10+ feet away from the building, b) install weeping tiles at your footings that drains into a French drain and takes the water 30 ft away from the building….process is cheap, you have the equipment, and you have the time since your plywood factory is doing a serious rebuild.
You know Ants not only your videos have cool contraptions but also very interesting approaches to difficult construction problems. I can't imagine doing all the foundation work with just a shovel and nothing else.
Hey antis put in a franch drain around the back of the house

Mr. Mackey would be proud of your message! We have deer flys and horse flies. They are relentless when trying to bite.🤣 The bug issues suck, we have the Elm leaf bettle that is destroying all of our elm trees. Its a bummer..
I love the creek that flows through your property! Have you ever checked to see if there’s any gold in those rocks and pebbles?
Thanks for your vid 😇💟💟💟 Love and bless you Andris.
Ask GRK for a sponsorship and have a lifetime supply of screws and we call those flies deer flies in Canada. I've found the best solution is heavy-duty two-sided tape on the back of the your hat. 😊
Get an "hair spray" bottle, and spray the horse fly. The wings will glue together then bye bye.
You have bark beetle. Mix up some strong dish soap with beer (some cheap stuff) in a garden sprayer and soak the infected areas. Maybe spray all the wood areas.
Mate, you are the man, your versatility shines through in the awesome content you provide every week. I come from a warm climate country and it amazes me the length you guys have to go to…..and extra cost, to insulate and waterproof your homes. Always an exciting day to see an Ants Pants post

Driving limousine tonight. Just dropped. Now I get to watch my favorite Friday night show 😇
Now that was a huge spring shower! The hailstorm was a bonus. 😊
Im loving your time lapse music. Marvelous choice.
Looks good so far brother!👌🏻👍🏻👍🏻 Just happy to see you again Andris, I didn’t get to celebrate! I stayed home with my dogs and could hear the fireworks around the neighborhood! Staying alert because there’s a hurricane out in the Caribbean and I’m hoping it doesn’t come this way! I don’t need the destruction now in my life! I love watching your videos, it calms my nerves! 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻
You get the long winters and we get the wind, rain and destruction of hurricanes! I stay nervous during hurricane season!

I've realized long time ago that there are very few "perfect spots" on the earth and what they lack in natural disasters and extreme weather, they get in the form of people endlesly fighting over it. Humans just get to pick their poison on the downsides... Here, where i live, it's so fricking cold that nobody wants to invade this barren spot of land.
Foundation cover is perfect house for mouse . Special last one 😊
Thank you as always 🎉
With that amount of rain I think your next project will be building a boat 💦🌊🛥️ .👍🏴
That bug just became a historical figure
Another great video, as usual.
Mosquitos almost never bother me, but horse files chase me all over.
Holy crapman hail, back in the 1970s, baseball-sized hail hit my area, Destroyed my Volvo, and caused several millions of dollars of damage at the local car dealer.
In English we call that kind of rain "a downpour". Nice dime sized hail too! Here in North America that kind of rain is usually associated with thunderstorms, so we get a sound and lightshow for free when they arrive too.... Cheers from Oregon, USA, Philip

Drainage, excavate a trench put in drain tile fill with rock, then put in mesh, cover with gravel. Be sure to slope everything down hill.
Thanks for sharing it with us
Thanks for sharing!
Happy 4th of July from Texas, USA. We call them bugs ( HORSE FLIES ) here in America.😎
Makita is a really reliable brand, it's the most common brand used on construction sites from professionals I've seen so far. We have drills and angle grinder from them at my work, working great.
always ants night , on Friday .. the biting fly things are called "Horse flys" over here , and in the wood , you have wood worm

Night is Öö in Estonian. Not sure why two o’s. Same as stopp needs two pp as one is sure not enough.
We built a barn with right cut lumber. If you leave the bark on the boards.that can attract bugs or worms termites in some cases. Exterminator may have a solution to get rid of them.
Yes! I know, keep saying this…it’s just, every time happy when you post your, most welcome, weekly video. Thanks dude, highly appreciated! Have a good one!
Thanks!
In alaska, we call it spruce bark beetle .
Another Friday and Ants come and gone. Until next Friday have a great wknd❤️🇨🇦
They are called horse flies in Canada . We also have deer flies the same size . They will follow you when you are moving , but won't land on you until you stop . That's when they bite .
No batteries required I couldn't stop lol 😆
bang on time.just love this guy
YAHOO! WORKING on Super Moms room addition again!😅 Been waiting on this for quite awhile …. Thank You! Please tell us who or what Super Santa is!😮 You keep mentioning him (them) of possibly helping to create the room addition …. But you never indicate who or why they would help? Sorry, about your several bug problems (both the flying biting ones as well as the wood eaters) Hope you will be able to get rid of all of them!😮 Your draining spout into that bowl or pan bowl …. Can you create a draining pipe from that bowl under ground and allow that water some place to go? Maybe, tie it into whatever draining system you’re going to do for the house?😮 I love this channel! Thank you for all your hard work, and taking us along for the ride!😂
Tack!
Nice job.
I absolutely enjoy your channel Seriously 🎉
Any weekend with one of your videos is a good one my friend. Hope your part of Estonia is doing well for you👍🇺🇸🔧
Great video again.👍
1 Do you have gold in your creek ? 2 Be careful with bird nest inside, they may have bird mites. It's like fleas on bird, when the babies live the nest the mites are going to leave the nest to find food. Dont become their food... 3 It's just a project suggestion, It would be interesting to see you build a jaw crusher from all the industrial parts you got to break those rocks :)
Another great video! Btw, that shiny rock is pyrite (püriit). Contains iron and sulfur. You can find it with bigger and smaller rock all over the South-Estonia.
Another great day of useful stuff done. The flying suckerss, which we call "parm" aka. a hobo directly translated, those are Horse flies in English, i believe. They are drawn to dark moving things and carbon dioxide. Wearing lighter colored clothing can somewhat make you less visible to them and repellents like permethrin or cypermethrin work on them best.
Great video as usual. You got the skills to pay the bills bro
SUPER MUM ON LAWNMOWER WATCHING OVER YOU MAKE SURE YOU DO IT WRIGHT .MUMS ALLWAYS WRIGHT
Excellent video bro!
Nice
Ants I’d be a little worried for the building….if you act sooner rather than later you can spay and treat the timbers otherwise you want get any fire wood from them infected timbers !
🤩🤩🤩
You need one of those tennis racket bug zappers. They are very satisfying and it's easy to take those hobos down in midair
😛👍 You are one hard working dude!
Looking forward to seeing the floor being replaced !😊
I think those biting flies look like what we call Horse Flies or Black Flies here in Canada. They take chunks when they bite. It is nice of you to put a roof over those poor bugs! :-))
here in North Carolina they are called the southern pine beetle...as of now, there is no known effective treatment for these pests.
We call those bugs horse flies here in Canada where I live. Believe it or not we have a worse biting fly that is similar but smaller than a horse fly. We call that one a deer fly. It is smaller maybe about half the size. If you get bit by that one it hurts worse and the bite itches way more than a horse fly bite. Love your content Ants Pants! Good luck with all the bugs! Especially the ones in the sub floor!
50:25 THATS A LOT OF HAIL!!! Wowwww ⛈️☔️
A little drain oil preserves wood and kills bugs
It’s the deer flies that annoy me! But we have mosquitoes in excess too!we have mosquitoes year round because we don’t get any bad cold winters here!
👍
Hey, about those blood sucking flies, may i suggest building a salt gun that uses compressed air? Love your vids, seeing the new ones keeps me going
👍👍👍
Horse fly , we have them here on the cape and have traps as big as outhouses to control them
I wondered about the drain. Possibly you could put a French drain on the uphill side of the building. You basically dig a trench, it is best to do so right under where the roof stops, line the trench with plastic, put in a slotted drain pipe and fill the trench with gravel and rocks period the water flows off the roof into the trench and down the hill into the trench and gets into the pipe and goes out to the end. Maybe not the best solution but a fast and easy way to get some better drainage right away.
Great progress! We call those big flies "horse flies".
Love the videos brother 👍👍👍🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
Hell yeah!! Free rocks
you can treat the lumber on the subfloor for the bugs and itll pretty much get rid of them all it seals them within the wood and they die iv done that to save very old wooden beams that had bugs
Man that was a crazy hail storm at the end
😍😍
We call em horse flys in Australia.
Well, we are getting rain for the first time in 4 weeks so I'm sitting inside watching you. Now I see you got some much needed rain as well. Hope the hail doesn't do any damage.
