Main house renovation (ep2) - Insulating foundation

Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль

Got a little update on the supermom bedroom build. In this video i will be filling the stupid holes and insulating the new foundation section. However plans have changed somewhat, and the rooms will be put on hold for a bit while we finish off other rooms in the other side of the house.
Hope you enjoy and thanks for watching!

When building anything out of home made lumber make sure to remove all the bark from it to prevent this bug problem. I've seen carpenter ants eat out cabins because they used planks with bark on them for the structural planks inside the walls

If you have moisture leaking through the stone cement foundation you need to a) get your downspouts leading the water 10+ feet away from the building, b) install weeping tiles at your footings that drains into a French drain and takes the water 30 ft away from the building….process is cheap, you have the equipment, and you have the time since your plywood factory is doing a serious rebuild.

I've realized long time ago that there are very few "perfect spots" on the earth and what they lack in natural disasters and extreme weather, they get in the form of people endlesly fighting over it. Humans just get to pick their poison on the downsides... Here, where i live, it's so fricking cold that nobody wants to invade this barren spot of land.

Please tell us who or what Super Santa is!😮 You keep mentioning him (them) of possibly helping to create the room addition …. But you never indicate who or why they would help? Sorry, about your several bug problems (both the flying biting ones as well as the wood eaters) Hope you will be able to get rid of all of them!😮 Your draining spout into that bowl or pan bowl …. Can you create a draining pipe from that bowl under ground and allow that water some place to go? Maybe, tie it into whatever draining system you’re going to do for the house?😮 I love this channel! It's like fleas on bird, when the babies live the nest the mites are going to leave the nest to find food. Dont become their food... 3 It's just a project suggestion, It would be interesting to see you build a jaw crusher from all the industrial parts you got to break those rocks :)

Another great day of useful stuff done. The flying suckerss, which we call "parm" aka. a hobo directly translated, those are Horse flies in English, i believe. They are drawn to dark moving things and carbon dioxide. Wearing lighter colored clothing can somewhat make you less visible to them and repellents like permethrin or cypermethrin work on them best.

It is smaller maybe about half the size. If you get bit by that one it hurts worse and the bite itches way more than a horse fly bite. Love your content Ants Pants! Good luck with all the bugs! I wondered about the drain. Possibly you could put a French drain on the uphill side of the building. You basically dig a trench, it is best to do so right under where the roof stops, line the trench with plastic, put in a slotted drain pipe and fill the trench with gravel and rocks period the water flows off the roof into the trench and down the hill into the trench and gets into the pipe and goes out to the end. Maybe not the best solution but a fast and easy way to get some better drainage right away.
