The goal may have been to get a criminal, one should "get" or understand a criminal
Happens all the time, doesn’t it? The evil in men who only want what they want without considering the possible consequences. Very sad story. Maigret had a fatherly heart.

In Australia 94% of adult women who are killed are killed by men. (As per figures from the criminology institute) Probably a fair generalisation.

Just about to listen to it and wondering about the age of the female in the story/illustration? Looks more like a woman to me, not a girl....... I suppose it was written some time ago when young women were more readily referred to as girls. Times have changed (somewhat....)
