For some of us fans we thought she was living the dream but hearing her talk about being back home on her farm in her community. That's where she belongs and i wish her continued success.

I remember watching Mortified on TV growing up in Australia; she has always been talented. Australia is the best place to live (speaking as someone who hasn’t lived anywhere else), she feels lucky just like the rest of us.

I took it as everyone as in Hollywood types. Actors, singers, etc. and in that regard he’s not terribly wrong. This country is messed up for sure, but the one thing I’m absolutely positive of is that it is the global hub of entertainment. Has been for the last 50 years at least. So for those people, this is actually the ideal place to be

HE wasn't actually saying that. He was saying that's the observation that many people would make because in a lot of industries (like show business) you would find more opportunities here. Of course L.A. and Hollywood aren't for her now, because her career stalled big time. What, you think her dream when she came was to toil around on a tv show and its spinoff on the freeform network for roughly a decade? And she's part of an ensemble, she's not even the star of the show. She's only been able to land a few starring roles in small budget films, now she's in her 30's, isn't as pretty as she once was, and the competition in Hollywood is incredibly fierce, so she's all about farm life and family now. This is easier to decipher than a children's book. If Maia's career had taken off the way she wanted she wouldn't be projecting her frustrations onto L.A. and Hollywood the way she has been recently in the media. Maia has likely gone on tons of auditions over the last 10+ years, she's just failed to become a major star, and now she's been passively aggressively bashing L.A. and Hollywood in the press. Funny, almost all of the girls that become big stars don't do that, Maia didn't become a big star (though many people thought she would), so now she's doing the whole "L.A./ Hollywood s*cks" thing in the press. Yet she keeps acting. And why? What else is she going to do? These girls are so pathetic, she just needs to accept that she failed to become the next big thing, and now she's relegated to just another working actress in Hollywood who takes parts when they're available. It's still a better living than she could possible make doing anything else. She should feel incredibly lucky, because pretty young girls in Hollywood with some acting ability are a dime a dozen, I know because i lived in L.A. for over 15 years. Maia was pretty and decently talented, but that's usually not enough to get you to superstardom in Hollywood. That's not the fault of Los Angeles or Hollywood though.

jeez, as some one who is from LA and still lives there (more than your 15 yrs) it’s full of actual demons disguised as people. she explained why she left and yet you twisted it into her not being successful?? how do you even measure success? i know many people who are trying to be working actors, not movie stars just working actors but it’s not going to happen for everyone. she looks great for an Australian, no sun damage by the looks of it and you faceless internet troll will shame her for her looks?! pretty girls in LA are also just normal regular working people. not all of them are here to work in the entertainment industry. and she’s still acting because that’s her job. what a dream come true, to live near your family and still be able to work your dream job. she’s very blessed. it’s true what locals say, the transplants like you make this city unbearable and disgusting. i’m glad you left.
