I'm sitting here in tears and I'm watching on my phone traveling in a car where I'm having to hum the music. She is absolutely glorious. I fell in love with her a few years ago when I saw her do that difficult allegro from T&V and have tried to follow her since. She keeps growing and refining her approach and reminds me here of my forever dance goddess Martine van Hamel. Thanks for posting!

Thanks for your great comment!
It's so great to see examples of supreme talent shared in one family. When they're paired, they're like a single dancing organism . . . brilliant! Brava! Bravo!

You are most welcome 🤗 Thanks for your wonderful comments!
How exceptional to have brother and sister BOTH reach such heights! Furthermore, they are lovely together as a partnership as seen in this challenging pas de deux. The fish dives out of double pirouettes are superb! Few principals perform these on stage.

Interesting. I thought Makarova revived the original fall there but it seems I've still seen quite a few companies stay with the fish dives. Maybe it defends on the dancers.

@@minissa2009 I can attest to how much I hated learning those en dedans turns into the fish dive, and they are generally one armed. Mostly because they came from slightly behind me and as a student they were frightening to say the least. Eventually I got them but as you say it depends and in this case sometimes on your partner also.
Wow, I can just imagine proud parents in the audience- could you imagine how they would feel. Just bursting with pride , and rightly so. Just a beautiful display of ballet 🩰. Thankyou 🩰🩰🩰🩰🙏🙏👵🇦🇺
Thank you so much. Maia is a favourite but have never really been able to find videos of her brother, and such a talented family.

Spasiba. The theatre that Maia Makhateli is from is the Dutch National Ballet. She is a prima ballerina there. Her older brother, David, is a retired star of the Royal Ballet Opera House in London. Thank you for your appreciation.
