ive been listening to city pop and been a fan of carti's for a while now; I didn't know that Carti sampled a city pop song. When this song autoplayed my jaw LITERALLY dropped

Listening to this song at 5:30 a.m., watching the sun rise while you're with your family on a 2 hour road trip is the best feeling in the world.

I was homeless for a month and a half. I had nothing but my small amount of income, 1980's Japanese music and my 1993 Mazda Miata. I can't tell you how many days I felt like ending it all... But this beautiful gem and so many others playing through my Miata's headrest speakers saved my life.... THANK YOU Mai Yamane... Thank you Maria Takeuchi... Thank you Junko Yagami.. And so many others... I owe you my life. Life does get better and I will NEVER forget beautiful 1980's Japanese music and the effect It had on me... I'm hard pressed to find any other type of music that would have put me in the right frame of mind like this did... Forever

Wow this is a cool story! I'd have to say, who needs a home, when you have a Miata *_* it's the car of my dream... Right now I'm listening to City Pop everyday, but most of all, every night while driving on the empty highways here in Milan (I finish working very late at night), and the thrill this gives to me it's already awesome driving my old Class A, but I'd love to do that with a Japanese Car from the 90's

To anyone wondering why this isn't on streaming: Seeing when there's old music that for the most part of it's existence has not been popular it's often up to whatever label is the rightsholder after all these years to specifically get the stuff on platforms. If you dig this track I strongly recommend other city pop tracks of this era such as Miki Matsubara - Stay With Me Mariya Taceuchi - Plastic Love Sai Yoshiko - Taiji No Yume Taeko Ohnuki - 4:00 AM As someone who’s not Japanese I consider these tracks phenomenal. I call it vacation music because it places me in a whole other world.
