Great review! As an Audi owner (A1&A4 Avant) since last 15 years - I must say that it’s better to have manual hand brake & manual IRVM. Multiple customers had issues with the same and had spend a good amount to rectify those issues.(for electronic handbrake switch - good luck when the battery is dead) Yes-ventilated seats, third row AC and sliding function for the second row seats, full sweeping rear wiper, luggage rack hooks at the boot (will keep luggage intact without any noise) & Sun blind curtains are a big miss. In regards to the mileage - come on guys - it’s a body on ladder frame & RWD = more weight. (Just check the mileage of Kodiaq which is an AWD). Improving once driving skills could assist in a slightly better mileage I guess. I am thinking of getting the Petrol Automatic six seater for my parents (my 60 year old Amma prefers SUV; she loved test driving the XUV700) 😃 And I would consider upgrading the tyres to 285 or 300 profile “summer tyres” (I don’t do off roading & upsizing the tyre could reduce the vibrations to some extent as mentioned in this video) To conclude - Buy Indian products & assist in the positive climb of Indian GDP. Best, Anoop Jayaprakash Kumarakom/Cayman Islands

Quite a good review. I see many reviewers go only about praising a vehicle irrespective of what really it is, may be out of the fear that if you point out any negatives, they may not get cars from the dealers for review. This one is quite different, talks about all the positives and doesn't suppress the negatives too. Great job guys

All of those are personal opinions. Plenty of cars with pano sunroofs are safe. There is always a screen/shade and if you dont want a car with pano sunroo, you can always choose to NOT buy it - instead of telling other people what they should or should not like.

@@ashishraghuwanshi3134 The manufacturer in this case - Mahindra - definitely knows how to create a safe vehicle. So nothing wrong in asking for a feature from them. If nobody demands anything we'd all still be running bullock carts. In this case, it looks like there might have been some cost considerations at play more than anything structural - because they omit other goodies expected today in a car this expensive too...

I think Mahindra designers just forget about Boot space XUV 3OO, Thar now Scorpion… as mentioned panoramic sunroof auto dimming orvm .. wireless CarPlay, rear AC, telescopic steering is a miss.. Quite a detailed review! Mahindra having another winner on their hands is not doubtful at all. What is doubtful however is the delivery of the vehicles on time. Mahindra already is running backlogs in terms of delivery of both Thar and XUV7OO and now with the Scorpio-N, how will they manage deliver vehicles in time? Another 18 month waiting period? I don't think many would like waiting a year and a half to get hands on their vehicle. I think Mahindra seriously needs to work on fixing it. The Scorpio-N should have had better AC vents or rather more of it, especially with summers we have in most parts of India, tiny rear AC vents don't do much in terms of cooling in a small car, let alone something as big as a three row SUV. The older gen scorpio we have in our family has a superb AC with roof mounted blower, I am surprised Mahindra opted to go with these instead. Also did not the second gen Scorpio come with front facing third row (higher variants)? Since you spoke about gunmen and carrying rifles in the cabin, Rohit Shetty may have to look elsewhere now for his movies. Guess he wont be crushing any Scorpions in his new movies. :P Mahindra has dominated the market with Thar and XUV7OO and that left very little space for Tata, and now with Scorpio-N, where does it leave them? Safari/Harrier don't offer anything more than what either of the Mahindra offers (not speaking about Thar), it offers less gizmos something Indians seem to love, engine refinement is better in Mahindras too, now ride and handling too is sorted. They also offer petrol with MT and AT and 4WD/AWD options. Does Tata have anything working in the pipeline to beat the competition? (not talking about EVs) Mahindra seems optimistic with going up against a Fortuner, that only demands a proper comparo between the two, what say Bert? :D

you're absolutely right. The tata safari offers limited facility for z6 of Scorpio which I have already booked. The engine and ride quality is much better than any other vehicles in the segment. I am agreed and worried about non availability of the 3rd seat A/C . Is it ok. Comparing with Fortuner is unjustified for its price range. No 100 percent possitive rivew on any aspects which is quite not acceptable.

As detailed of a review as it can be. Its tough to beat the ladder chassis refinement of Endeavour and Scorpio seems to be behind on that but not by much. Another area I guess Mahindra could have done better is increase the length of the vehicle to accommodate 3 rows better with some room for luggage or made it a 5 seater with a better 2nd row space and a usable boot in its current dimensions. Then there are bits like steering reach adjustment or auto IRVM or ventilated seats and so on, which could make it more convenient to live with on daily basis. Seeing where the prices released so far, top variant will end up close to 25 lakhs and at that price point adding a few more necessities for a little more money won't hurt the buyer.

Exactly. Overdrive (particularly Rohit) is where I always come for the best reviews because most of the others just feel like infomercials with no substance, but the video quality is always so poor - on a PC/large monitor it looks worse than todays' mid range smarphones, let alone a professional productions. Blurry, shaky, and always extremely compressed - and always a couple of days late despite all of those shortcomings.

Genius question! So say if I’m driving at 120kmph and want to set cruise control to 100 for an upcoming speed limit zone and then bring it back up to 120kmph, how do you propose I do it? Manually come down to 100, then set the cruise control and once the 100kmph speed limit zone is over go manually to 120 and hit the set button again? Or keep fiddling with the switches and guess the set speed? Why even have the plus/minus switches in that case?

This was a very good review, and I've seen a few reviews of the new Scorpio-N. Loved the way luck probably played its part by having the Safari, MG Hector, Toyota Innova Crysta, Hyundai Creta, and Kia Seltos on the road right when you guys were filming certain segments. Or may be it was well planned? ;) Nevertheless, loved how we could get a good comparison of the size of the new SUV in the market. Even comparing it to the older Fortuner. Would love to see a full comparison with the XUV 700 and a size comparison with the current generation of the Fortuner. Though, seeing this review, I really want to go and see the new Scorpio-N in person and test drive it. :)

The third row seat is practically useless in my opinion and the side opening door equally stupid. All in all, a well chopped Alturas G4 transformed into the ScorpioN... Great job by M&M in this regard, we finally have a worthy competitor to the Fortuner and the Meridian (which pales into insignificance).. Being an ARIA user for 10 years now, I have come to like BOF RWD Diesel cars.. Seems to be the right choice to upgrade !

I am not sure how many of us actually have huge parking space. City dwellers stay in apartment complexes and space size is limited. Roads are still the same and congested. Public parking for even a small car has become a nightmare. No space available. One big SUV takes the space of 2 small cars and space becomes even more limited.Seriously this madness for big SUVS need to stop. Each brand is now competing on bigger cars. Look at Maruti cars. Small cars have become butch type design and big. These SUVs are bloating up the egos of common man which was restricted to politicians. It's a very sad thing!!
