Yes, because if Mustafa was in Amasya, he would be far from the capital, Mehmed would be close to the capital. This would be disaster for Mustafa and Mahidevran. That's why they took it so personal. It was personal. He was the crown Prince. Of course he would take it personally. After all, a Prince and especially a Prince like Mustafa, who was the first one for the throne, should be more close to the capital in order to take the throne.

⁠@@ocrafi3750He wasn’t the crown prince to begin with. There’s no such concept in the Ottoman Empire. All the princes were equal and the one who won the throne and came first to the capital to seize it became the sultan. It doesn’t matter which one in order he is in birth.

You are don't understand my friend. If Mustafa was out of Manisa and was at Amasya, he would be far from Capital, because if you see at the map, Amasya is further than Manisa. Mehmed would be closest, so Mustafa would be executed. Syleiman should rethink it or else he would be responsible for what happened in the future. Mehmed's death was also a fault of Syleiman. If Mehmed was at Amasya and not at Manisa, Mahidevran would never kill him. Syleiman asked it and he got the consequences for his own actions and commands, the same ones which had already commanded by force to the others. He was the loser one, not Mahidevran and Mustafa. They just payed the stupidity of Syleiman, the consequencss of arrogance hitted Syleiman's head, not Mustafa's or Mahidevran's. He payed with the loss of Mehmed, then he also played the role of "God" and he decided that he is God himself, then he also played the hypocrite and told that no one woman had the right to decide about him, for him and for his empire, but then he made Hurrem Chief of Harem, he made her command him, he ended up garbage of Hurrem. Such a "Great Sultan", of this "Great Empire", full of murderers (Hurrem, Rustem, Syleiman). He told that women can't decide. So what is the reason of this change? What made him to change his mind? Was it worthy? Was he happy for his decision or his happiness turned to misfortune for him and for the others just like that?

Mustafa seemed very confused about his family history and his father's temperament. In the series, he was my favorite sezade, but he went independent too many times. Kanuni did similar things as a prince, BUT, there wasn't a hostile faction in the palace magnifying his every move, like how was done against Mustafa.

If you think that Mustafa always doing mistakes and always blames Hurrem, then you are wrong. Mustafa always blaming Rustem for his traps against him. And if you think that only Mustafa made mistakes, rethink that Syleiman was the one who started all the problems, he neglected Mahidevran for Hurrem, he made them fight each other, he gave Ibrahim titles and positions, even if he didn't want anything from him, he killed him merciless, without giving him at least one chance to defend himself (after all, Ibrahim never did something bad against Syleiman, he always swrved him with loyalty). Now, Syleiman suspects his own son, blaming Mustafa that he made mistakes, on the top of that, he dared to say that "the point is to see your mistake and learn a lesson from it". What about you Syleiman? Did you learn something after so many years or maybe you were a tyrant, who always giving up at your anger and never make an example for your own mistakes? Or maybe you thought that you were God? Did you were superior than God? Start thinking of your mistakes and not blame others for your mistakes (he blamed his mother for Hurrem's betrayal with Leo's relationship, he blamed Hatice's beating by Hurrem, he even blamed Ibrahim for Sadika Hatun tried to kill him, he blamed Ibrahim even if he tried to protect Mustafa, now he blamed Mustafa because he served him with loyal and try to serve the empire as well). Such an hypocrite. He blamed Mahidevran for everything, always tried to be modest, but he chose the wrong way and he lost himself in his path of bloodsheding. He made all this suffering and troubles for both himself and for his own family. Shame on him, truly, Mahidevran was right about everything. It turns out that Syleiman was arrogant and Mustafa was an innocent, who also payed the prize in the place of the rotten people like Hurrem, his father and Rustem. As for Mahidevran, she was the Kassandra of Troy of this era: she told the truth so many times, she knew the truth for Hurrem, Rustem and Syleiman, but no one listened to her, no one wanted to believe in her. She warned many times, Ibrahim, Hatice, Mustafa, Syleiman's mother, no one listened to her. When someone tells something, it tells you this, because he cares about you and you should at least hear it, if you don't believe in it. After this, you have two options; or be like Syleiman and take the wrong way and act with arrogance and in the end pay the prize whatever it goes or take the right path and be always okay with yourself, so at least you can look yourself at the mirror, without shame, but with joy.

Only one thing keeps coming to my mind.... How come when Mahidevaran, Hurrem, Gulfem & their children gets old but not Hatice, Shahuban. How can they be seen very young ???

Mahidevran all the time: "Hurrem this, Hurrem that, that snake Hurrem did this to us..."... Like, girl, grow up, take responsibility and teach it to your son. 29:45 - "we are more hurt than you". like, what? what is still a problem that Mehmet, Selim, Bayezid and Cihangir are Hurrem's children? Why they consider Mustafa so precious, while it was their tradition that princes has different mothers? and now there is a problem with it?

​@Leo don't be naive. Hürrem was sneaky for real. Mahidevran Sultan blamed her for a reason as long as Hürrem slandered on Mustafa and because of Hürrem, he was killed. Mahidevran and Valide Sultan were right about Hürrem. Just very sad that neither Valide Sultan, nor Mahidevran were able to get rid of snake Hürrem.

Mustafa's guide was Ibrahim until he died. He gained Ibrahim's arrogance. Between Ibrahim and his mother, he really didnt stand a chance.

Too bad these news didn't cause Mahidevran a heart attack. it'd have saved Mehmet, Hurrem and even Hatice

Everyone keeps talking about how pure Mustafa’s heart was and saying that is what got him killed…I have to totally disagree. Though he was trusting and naive…his Mother and advisors are what got him killed. They made him a target for the sultan himself. Now…Mehmet…he was the one whose heart was too pure for him to be is this so called “game of thrones”(on the show NOT irl). He would have given his life for his brothers anyway. It was evident when he took that arrow for Mustafa. This is why his assassination by Mahi was the turning point for Mustafa’s fate IMO. Mehmet was just so innocent…Hurrem was a different kind of mother than Mahi. She NEVER put pressure on her kids…it was all about keeping them alive along with Suleiman. She loved them all. LOL it’s also funny that Mahi was soooo concerned about Hurrem having it out for them but she NEVER gave a looking to the most powerful Sultana….Mihrimah!!!

I see the exchange going on like this: Mahidevran bursts in, nearly pounces on Hurrem only to be restricted and then she starts ranting on and on about how she ruined her son's relationship with Suleiman. How she's a curse to the dynasty and the empire. How she wishes that she had died on her way to the palace or that those who had captured her had their way with her and then cut her throat. Hurrem during all that ranting maintains complete composure. She doesn't even look at Mahidevran. It's almost like she doesn't even listen to her. Finally, when Mahidevran is out of breath, Hurrem turns to face her. "If that's all, sultan, you may take your leave now." Gods, the look on Mahidevran's face would have been priceless

I’d argue that Mahidevran is his worst enemy. She turned son against father with her manipulation and tears years ago. She’s the reason Suleiman started distrusting Mustafa in the first place. What he hated the most is being disobeyed and question which is what Mustafa did numerous times for his lying nasty mother. If Mustafa had a mother like Hurrem who doesn’t use her son for her ego and greed he would have become the Suktan. Unfortunately for him, he came out of a snake like Mahidevran.

From the beginning hurrem has ask their enemies for piece but they reject her then hurrem start playing the game and hurrem winning the game..

Sueliman wanted Mustafha to govern Amasya because he had ruling experience, and could guard the borders there against the Persians etc....but Mustafha took it is a down grade, so did his mother.

Suleiman was never close and probably he had no bond with Mustafa,even though he was his son Mehmed, Bayezid and Cihangir were never so clouse to Mustafa too. Mustafa was not that naive irl. And Murad in MCK,being clouse with his brothers,that is... no words.He wanted to execute them,so that his sons could ascended him,he didn't have any bond with his brothers,irl. And Ibrahim hated his son Mehmed,because acording to him he was born ugly,but in the series it wasn't showed that.

Mustapha was very shallow minded to say that Ibrahim was killed because he loved and supported him. Ibrahim got away several times, he lived longer than he should have.

After watching this series again n again I see how dim witted these harem women were to focused on Hurrem while Hurrum only focused on sultan and his well-being. I feel sultan was intelligent and not someone who blindly followed what hurrem said hurrem I guess never said anything blindly she too was an intelligent lady. People of those times did not understand this couple and as they couldn’t blame sultan hurrem was easy target

I am very indiffeent to Mustafa in the show... He make a very bad mistake but Suleiman "forget" one thing ... It was very easy to Suleiman to have the role of a obediant son when he was an heir because he was the ONLY son. So he didn't have to gain vital support for the succession ( and we all remember that according to the laws the sons who didn't become Sultan are executed). But Mustafa is not the son of his favorite concubine so it's not a surprise that he do mistake ( a lot of us would do same as it was a stressant position) because he must do everything to survive. And remember that Suleiman know that Mustafa was victim of attempting murder but he do nothing. And in history Suleiman had inordinate expectations ( like we said before have the role of a obediant son when he was an heir because he had all the advantage to be the only son and so expected that his others sons won't gain vital support to have better chance to be a sehzade) and was a bad father to Mustafa such as when he let his vizier Rustem destroy him without intervening only to be surprised afterwards that Mustafa allowed himself to be supported by the Jannisaries. Especially since his vizier intrigued against him for a power game and not because his eldest son was a monster or an imminent danger for the Ottoman Empire, but basically it suited him and Suleiman had to encourage Rustem to do everything to handicap Mustafa in running his province ( but I don't buy the legend of Mustafa the very obedient and pure as snow son no matter how much I like him historically even though I don't think he wanted overthrow his father otherwise he would never have entered that tent). I suspect that the historical Suleiman purposely raised his surviving sons (the ones he had with Hurrem) so that even if they wanted to overthrow him they couldn't for lack of skill (we had the demonstration with the historical Bayezid even if we do not have enough evidence that he wanted to overthrow his father he still tried to force his hand in an attempt to get rid of Selim and surely Murad). Mustafa's biggest mistake either in the story or in the show was not knocking his father down as soon as he saw his true face vis-à-vis him (although I understand that the consequences of a rebellion could be disastrous). He had two solutions either not to accept the supporters that his father feared (even if afterwards it would be very complicated to become Sultan because these same supporters could consider him a fool for having refused him) or outright to declare that since his father is ready to sacrifice the welfare of his subjects out of paranoia (since he lets his vizier Rustem make him mismanage his province, deny him help when his province is in danger) his duty is to overthrow Suleiman with the Janissaries. But he has the worst solution between the two which is the worst accepting his father's dreaded supports, taking initiatives without him AND not overthrowing his father. Mustafa inherited his sense of duty and intelligence from his grandfather Selim Yavuz (if we put aside the fact that he married without his father's consent and was incredibly naive in the show) but lacked his audacity. That's why one became Sultan and the other ended up being strangled by his father. And Mehmed... Always boring ( because he too perfect) I have a false hope that he would be confronted permanently to Mustafa which would have been an interesting development either as he rebels against his mother (not against his father that would have been anachronistic), or to realize that his father is not the perfect man he imagined and that he has every interest in being obedient. What a messed up character :( P.S: In history I don't know if Mehmed was incompetent maybe he was very clever but he die too quickly before seeing whether or not he would have been a capable sehzade. Manisa was an easy province for a novice sehzade it is only when he goes to another province like Amasya that we see if he can prove himself

i think there was also another reason for Suleiman's fear of Mustafa..some say Mahidevran was a princess... the daughter of a neighborhood lord..It is understandable why Mustafa was raised to lead (and was also competent) ..she was raised by a leader and she raised a leader. Unfortunately this inflicted fear in Suleiman as he knew he could not control Mustafa..

@@Sky-tv4wb Yeslike I said before I never buy to the legend of the white pure snow Mustafa ( even I like him in history, but I hope than one day we will make a true serie on Suleiman which will focus on the historical Mahidevran which I like very much, not that of differents show, poor women even in death they diabolize her). Like I said he make too much initiative without his father consent because probably due to the fact that the rules of succession were now rigged concerning the support of statesmen thanks to Rustem who did everything to destroy him, in particular accusations of falsification of Mustafa's seal (but on that it is speculative) (to because of the power game) and his father who did nothing to help him repel the enemies of the Ottomans who wanted to invade the province (Suleiman probably let things be done to try to destroy Mustafa's popularity). In fact Suleiman probably encouraged Rustem to do that. So it's not surprising that Mustafa make this big mistake to the venitian. Some said that Mustafa was a rebel other said no. His guilt is unclear unlike Bayezid (and Mustafa's mistakes far more understandable than Bayezid's, which is ironic because Bayezid enjoyed more leniency from Suleiman before he made one fatal mistake too many) . But my opinion is that he didn't want to overthrow his father as he took the risk to go to this tent disarmed and alone ( he was not naive he he knew there was a big risk to his life) but he would always act behind his back. Like I said he had two solutions to avoid that but he chose the third one which is the worst.

I really love Mahidevran, she had a terrifying courage, was very intelligent and even much more independent than her "rival" Hurrem for me she would surely have made a great Valide or a good correspondent for foreign leaders if Suleiman had allowed it instead of constantly insulting her (they didn't were rivals for the love of the sultan in real life, it was mostly for the safety of their children) but she was not a princess historians have deconstructed that. She was probably kidnap as child like Hurrem and brought in the harem. Her ally was Ibrahim Pasha and not Bitu Mustafa. Ibrahim Pasha was execute because he was acting like a Sultan even if we have a letter than Hurrem dislike him because it is said that she warns Suleiman against Ibrahim, it is not she who destroys her but he himself ( and I am saying that while regretting the demonization of Ibrahim in the show and recognizing all the great things he has done for the Ottoman Empire even I don' buy to the good Ibrahim versus the Bad Hurrem). Mustafa was not wed to a princess in real life unlike his father he was very respectful of the tradition of the harem and Suleiman will not permit it. His favorite historical was Rumaisa and she was not a princess ( if I am not mistake).

When Mehmed walked in the room where Shah and Hatice were....the fake shah quicklly greeted Mehmed acted happy. while the snake hatice just stood there with forcing fake smile and never even coming close to greet mehmed....then when mehmed talked to mustafa..and told him about the change ...arrogant mustafa right away couldnt hidge his anger and hate and told Mehmed to leave to his home /palace....he was not a good brother to Mehmed or the others....he was only caring about being sultan...thank god he never got to be becUSE HE was an awful person.....even enabling the killing Mehmed they thought they would make it easy for him but only assured he would never be Sultan.

Mustafa needs to grow up. he speaking treason and no one says a thing about it. He doesn't even know the real reason for Ibrahim's death. He's no easily manipulated by his mother and aunts. He even believes Ibrahim was innocent and killed because he loved and supported him smh No dummy he was killed because he let power and greed go to his head. He called himself the lion tamer meaning he rules the Country and the Sultan. He said the Sultan makes no rules, laws or goes to war if he doesn't approve it first everything goes through him. Mahidevran was correct. She knew hurrem was plotting for the death of mustafa. In reality too she used to warn her don to be careful but mustafa was a very kind hearted n loyal. Suleiman was a narcissist parent. Who envied the attention n love his son was getting. He was much more strict on him that on the talentless n useless sons of hurrem.

Your a prince now you have your brain, don't entertain gossip that will destroy you, be a man.

I feel really sorry for Mustafa and Mahidevran. They were innocents and it was all because of Hürrem. Truth, Mahidevran hated Hürrem. But she had reasons. I think every normal woman would hate another woman for taking her man. It's natural. But Hürrem was such a snake that because of her slanders, Mustafa was killed. Hürrem should have been killed first,.maybe then Mustafa would have lived and spared all brothers after getting the throne. But I am happy what has happened at the end. Hürrem still have got what deserved. Her own sons turned into enemies and Selim was the one who ignored Hürrem. Hürrem did that all by herself. Glad that Nurbanu was enough strong and brave to fight with Hürrem and sad that Mahidevran didn't dare to do that.

Yeah right, Mustafa disobeys and questions his father but it’s Hurrem’s fault. Mustafa preferred to act on his own and pretend to be a hero rather than keep his father’s trust. Also the wedge between Suleiman and Mustafa was driven by Mahidevran who manipulated and used Mustafa against Suleiman. She lied and whined to her son who opposed his father on her behalf. Mustafa’s greatest enemy wasn’t Hurrem, it was his own mother Mahidevran. Also, have you gotten nothing from this show lol? Suleiman was never Mahidevran’s man. She was just one out of many concubines that Suleiman could sleep with in his HAREM. Following your logic Mahidevran took Suleiman from Gulfem and boasted of how she made her suffer. Note: Gulfem lost both her child and her love while Mahidevran enjoyed replacing her. And all Hurrem did was protect herself and her children from Mustafa and his viper mother. They started the war with her and threatened her with her children’s lives. Mahidevran tried to have Hurrem and her children murdered and actually murdered Mehmet first. If Mustafa ascended the throne he would have executed his brothers and stepmother. Hurrem rightfully defended her sons. Was she supposed to do nothing and let the toxic mother son duo to kill them? Mahidevran got what she deserved in the end. She took Suleiman and Hurrem’s son then suffered the loss of hers. What goes around comes around.

On this I am partially disagree my friend even if it is just a view. In this show I am not a fan of Hurrem and Mahidevran even if I didn't consider them as evils. While I dislike than Mahidevran use Hatice my fallen angel :( , Hurrem do that too, Sah a little bit ( Suleiman don't even talk about him, we are all agree about this). But Mahidevran didn't use her well unlike the others that I mentioned. Yes Mahidevran relies heavily on others ( and she know this) but we can't forget some importants things: first she was formed by Hafsa who think that concubine can't be clever but only obedient even when Mahidevran try to make some right point to Hafsa she is pray to be quiet ( when Mahidevran told Hafsa that Hurrem can succeed in getting married to Suleiman Hafsa told that she is wrong, we have other examples that why I found Hafsa very hypocritica when she said the famous sentence than Hurrem that the difference between Hurrem and Mahidevran is that Hurrem uses her own mind when Mahidevran uses the others just because Mahidevran took the right decision to give up her love to Suleiman and wish him dead , like come on Hafsa you decide that she would be only obedient and not smart so don't complain about this). Second she is a women in XV siecle not in XXI siecle and the norm overall was that women should be passive and relied heavily on others , not everyone can be a Wu Zetian, empress Theodora or Elizabeth I ( and that was a problem when leaders like Mary Stuart trained on this adage were to lead a country). Third it is probably that she was child when she was captured unlike Hurrem when she was captured she was a mischievous young girl surely due to the free education of her parents Mahidevran surely did not have this "luxury" and she was not a Sultana so maybe it was that who make her passive.With all this it's a miracle that she began to gradually emancipate herself and to be lucid about Suleiman the first and to realize that the real danger was not Hurrem but him.
