શ્રીઠાકોરજી એ ગોપીઓને આપશ્રી સાથે રાસ રમવા ના કરેલા મનોરથ ની તીવ્ર ઈચ્છા ને પરીપૂર્ણ કરી વ્રજ માં આવેલા ચંદ્ર સરોવર ઉપર આસો મહિનાની પૂનમે મહારાસ રચ્યો,દરેક ગોપી ની સાથે એક કૃષ્ણ ભગવાન રહી મહારાસ ની રચના થઈ આજ ની પિછોવાઈ મહારાસ મનોરથ ની તાદ્રશ્યતા નું પ્રતિબિંબ છે.
નંદાલયમાં શ્રીઠાકોરજી એ સફેદ જરી ની કાછની,હીરા નો મુગટ મયૂરાકૃત ના કુંડલ,શીશફૂલ,અંતરવાસ નો સફેદ પટકો,ચરણ સુધી હીરા ના આભરણ,કલાત્મક રીતે ગુંથેલી જૂઈ/ગુલાબ ની માલ્યાજી ધરી મોહિની સ્વરૂપે બિરાજી વૈષ્ણવો ના મન ને મોહી રહ્યા છે.
It was an everlasting dream of the Gopis to play Ras with Thakorji . To fulfill this desire of the Gopis, Thakorji played Ras with each gopi on chrandra Sarovar in Vraj. This spellbound vision of Thakorji taking so many swaroops, so each Gopi felt that Thakorji was dancing Ras with only her is called Maharas.
