I understand her words like this: "Lord, Im not asking for any favour for myself. If You think it will help me, to come closer to you, that there will be problems in my life, then I accept them. Just give me strenght to go through them and stay on the path towards You!"

Lord, don't move the mountain Give me the strength to climb Lord, don't move my stumbling blocks But lead me all around Lord, don't move the mountain Give me the strength to climb Lord, don't move my stumbling blocks But lead me all around Our cares we bring unto you You told us, Lord, that we could You promised to help those who help themselves And I believe that you'll have mercy, Lord Lord, don't you move the mountain Just give me strength to climb Lord, don't move my stumbling block But lead me around The way may not be easy You didn't say, Lord, that it would be For when our tribulations get too light We tend to stray from Thee Have mercy Please don't move the mountain Just give me strength to climb Lord, don't move my stumbling block But lead your child all around Amen

I’m in my early 20’s, battling with depression & addiction to many things. This song is what my heart feels at night when I’m crying by myself, I hope the Lord doesn’t move my mountains; I’m praying for the strength to climb them myself. If anyone is reading this after April 2020 please take care of yourself and appreciate your life.

I know where you're at... I been there, I'm still fighting. Confront your demons now, yes you can procrastinate it like I did but I regret it now because I could have been so much further in life. Confront it, let it hurt, receive the gift of you.

Most of the time depression and addictions are linked to demons. There was a time in my life when I was suicidal. I felt depressed and I wanted to die. I cried so much. I begged God to saved me and he heard my cry. I fasted and prayed and read the word of God. Also, a group of a prayful brothers in Christ prayed for my deliverance in the name of Jesus. God is faithful. He freed me from that demon of depression. I felt so free and so light. As if a heavy burden was lifted off of me. Fasting and praying is one of the greatest weapon against any demon. All the glory be to God.

Christian maturity requires a radical reordering of one’s priorities, changing over from pleasing self to pleasing God and learning to obey God. The key to maturity is consistency, perseverance in doing those things we know will bring us closer to God. Lets grow and ask God to give us the strength to climb rather than ask Him to move them...

It's a shame that todays church music is drowned out by loud drums and guitar and often the organ and piano is replaced with synthisizers. A big screen with video and lyrics now clutter the wall and the sound system is cranked all the way to 11. some churches have people doing interpretive movement, sign language and ballet dancing. But give me a classy singer like Mahalia singing from the heart with just simple piano or organ accompment any day, over loud music. we need more of this music.

Once there was a time when people said “I remember when church was just monks chanting, now we got pipe organs with all there shiny pipes, you know who likes pipes-THE DEVIL”. So tell me what era of music lost Gods blessings. If you want to be true to the original church, Jesus was a Jew. I can’t speak for every church, but every church I’ve been blessed to be a part of the “worship” team, has prayed extensively that we not be a performance, that we are not on a stage, and that God would use us to move peoples hearts into the spirit of worship and preparedness to receive Gods word for their heart. From the beginning we were to bring our best to the altar, our praise and worship should be no different. Believe it or not, you can encounter Gods presence just as much through Hillsong, as you can in a 1000 year old hymn. Check out Tasha Cobbs-modern worship-extremely skilled vocalist- and she gives herself wholeheartedly to God with every note that comes from her mouth.

Wow!!!!!! Her anointed voice singing this POWERFUL song about the Christian walk with the Lord!! We find the Lord on our knees don’t we!?! purposely or knocked down- we find Him, or our faith is matured- every time He leaves that mountain for us to figure out. It’s at that foot of that mountain we rely on Him solely and finally understand God- so God, DONT ever move any mountain in my life because I want more of you and less of me- Thank you, Father

I've always said soul is not a category of music, it's a feeling. You can sing with soul in all genres of music. Mahalia's soul was pure, anointed and holy ghost filled. I truly feel and believe this woman lived what she gave to the world and strived to be the version of herself in the image likeness of God. I also think there are singers God really uses to be of service, those with distinction and really spiritual realm voices like Mahalia, Aretha, Whitney. Those women have each been the top of their category of music and everyone else just seems to follow!

I swear my mom used to sing this song to my siblings and me. And She sung it just like Ms. Jackson did but only she did it acapella..although at that time I was in my teens and had only heard of Ms. Jackson from my mother. I had no ideal who she really was, and had never heard any of her songs except for one: "He's Got The Whole World in His Hands"...But, when I'd finally got the chance to see her and hear her sing, Omg!...She blew me away! But then again; so did my mom!!!!!!! In fact; my mother kind of reminds me of her, the two of them have a lot in common. One being the fact that they both are very, spiritual and loves the LORD Christ Jesus; very much! And two; they both are kind and loving..I miss those days. Back then life was so much more sacred
