Sis Mahalia had such love and trust in my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, and it's more than evident as we watch and listen to her sing to His glory and His provision for those of us who trust in Jesus Christ! I grew up listening to her on the old 78 RPM records my mother played daily, and as mother sang them too! Mahalia was FOR REAL, and I can feel the Spirit coming through her voice! GLORY GOES TO GOD!!!

Facing a hard time right now. God lead me me here. Ty Lord.

Indeed she truly was The World's Greatest Gospel Singer. This song took me back to some precious memories of my G'mother who loved Sis. Mahalia & would sing this song all the time. It really stirred up my spirit...brought tears to my eyes. That amazing voice!

aint that just how all our Mothers sat at the end of the day.When they'd lift their heads up just so and sing their three or four favourite hymns over and over as we grew up. Singing a bit to us, a bit to themselves and a bit piece to Jesus.

For me, it was my dad singing hymns while washing dishes. Thanks God for a believing earthly father! He's now resting with the ancestors in heavenly places. I think of him with a smile when I break out in psalms, hymns and spiritual songs when I'm washing dishes😁😇

Always sings from her heart, God has brought her through so much. There is no doubt in my mind that she is singing about what God has done for her and will do the same for us.

Trusting and believing this! I am at an extremely rough road right now. I believe this still, somehow...someway. My heart is heavy but God IS!!!

I had some disappointing news yesterday and I am endeavouring to trust the Lord for his leading. Just listened to my dearest sister M sing Jesus Saviour Pilot me and now God will take care of you. Blessed consolation from the lips of someone who obviously felt what she was singing. Hope to see her in the New Jerusalem .

"The World's Greatest Gospel Singer" - That was Her title, and she certainly deserved it! Reverend James Cleveland played piano for her when he was still quite young, I could always see her influence, in certain things he did.

This is not a song on my regular playlist of hymns. My aunt is being taken off life support today. She requested in her will for me to sing this song at her service. I don't like to sing sad songs at funerals, however, I have the deepest love and admiration for Aunt Hannah and Mahalia Jackson. I pray I make them both proud.

You are right I feel. Cissy, Whitney and even Dionne to certain extent we’re influenced by Mahalia. And Leontyne Price is cousin to Cissy Natural singers who came up singing in church develop much the same as those trained classically Mahalia was special. Her singing brings me to His throne
