Mahabalipuram Vlog - Places You Need to See | Tamil Nadu | Shore Temple, Food, Shopping | Ep 8
Mahabalipuram, also known as Mamallapuram, is a historic town located in the state of Tamil Nadu, India, along the Coromandel Coast of the Bay of Bengal. It is renowned for its ancient rock-cut temples, intricate sculptures, and UNESCO World Heritage Site status.
Mahabalipuram was a prominent port city of the Pallava dynasty, which ruled the region from the 3rd to the 9th centuries CE. It served as a flourishing center of trade and maritime activities during this period. The town is famous for its group of monuments, which showcase remarkable Dravidian architecture and intricate rock-cut sculptures. Key attractions include the Shore Temple, the Pancha Rathas (Five Rathas), and the Descent of the Ganges (Arjuna's Penance).
Shore Temple: The Shore Temple, built in the 8th century CE, is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of the oldest structural stone temples in South India. It is dedicated to Lord Shiva and overlooks the Bay of Bengal.
Pancha Rathas: The Pancha Rathas is a complex of monolithic rock-cut temples, each carved from a single granite boulder. The temples are named after the Pandava brothers and their wife Draupadi from the epic Mahabharata.
Descent of the Ganges: The Descent of the Ganges, also known as Arjuna's Penance, is a massive bas-relief carving on a granite rock face. It depicts various scenes from Hindu mythology, including the descent of the river Ganges from the heavens.
Beaches and Seascapes: Mahabalipuram is known for its picturesque beaches, including the Mahabalipuram Beach and the nearby Covelong Beach. Visitors can enjoy scenic views, water sports, and relaxation by the seaside.
Cultural Heritage: The town continues to be a center of traditional art and culture, with artisans specialising in stone carving, sculpture, and handicrafts. Visitors can witness these crafts being practiced at local workshops and studios.
Annual Events: Mahabalipuram hosts several cultural events and festivals throughout the year, including dance performances, music concerts, and temple celebrations, which attract tourists and art enthusiasts from across the country.
Mahabalipuram's rich history, stunning architecture, and serene coastal setting make it a must-visit destination for history buffs, art lovers, and travelers seeking a glimpse into India's ancient past.

King Narasimha Pallava was a very proficient wrestler and one of his titles was "Maamallaa" - Great wrestler. He was a very big patron of this then port town, and some say the place was named Maamallapuram in his honour.

Apart from loving all her videos , one bad thing noticed is , after visiting great Temples , she eats non veg. South Indians never follow that custom, because they feel it’s a bad thing. We should to respect our traditions & culture and need to follow the Hindava practices.
